Historically really interesting ... The road to it is scrappy but keep going as it is worth it. Quite magical. Shame no coffee shop there.

If industrial architecture or photography is your thing, you'll like it here. I've been twice and found it a great place to look at old wrecks of Severn Trows, walk around the old harbour, and gaze over the Severn at the decomissioned power stations! It is not pretty, but interesting. The sea bird life is good, and the turning of the tide in the Severn (yes, it's tidal) creates a fabulous effect on the water. There is no cafe, pub or toilets, but the signage is good, and there's plenty of parking, even on a bank holiday. We had lunch first at the Rising Sun in nearby Woollaston Common, so will never need to eat again, so big were the portions! Went down off the path on to a little grassy 'beach' by some rocks, just to listen to the sea birds. If you don't go off the path, though, it's all level for wheelchair, buggy or other mobility-device users. Definitely going again.

This is a very scenic walk which has access for everyone. Looks over the river severn towards the new severn bridge. Very enjoyable hour here. There is free parking and parking for disabled

Not for the kids as there's no amusement park! It's an historic harbour, with iron ore and coal being shipped, via the forest railway, on boats, decades ago. Now there's just a few private boats moored here. Great views across the mighty river Severn. No toilets! Some information plaques. Worth about an hour. Town of Lydney about one mile distant.
