“Fantastic staff”
Reviewed 21 February 2014

thanks very much for making our stay so pleasant. The staff at this hotel is wonderful - friendly, helpful, and kind. The pool was very nice, the food was tasty. The grounds were very well kept and nice to walk around in.

What a pleasant surprise to find ourselves at a gem of a hotel after the glorious visit to the Ranakpur Jain Temple. Not only were we treated to a dusk jeep safari where we saw antelope, macaque monkeys, wild boar, jackals, peacocks and other fowl but we got a glimpse of village life off the beaten track. This was followed by the best meal of the entire trip as the veggies were from their own gardens and the local mutton melted in the mouth. The team led by Rakesh Soni was cheerful and a pleasure to be around. It all had the feel and grace of the old India.

I was slightly perturbed about staying here after reading a couple of the reviews but we thoroughly enjoyed our night and could have stayed a couple more. We stayed in room 2 which was perfectly fine. 2 comfortable twin beds and a big window bedseat too. Bathroom was big and the fitments were all ok. There are lovely gardens in the hotel to sit and relax in and the pool is quite large and in good condition - very clean. The staff are very friendly and do their best to do everything for you. There is a horse stables next door with the most beautiful horses I've ever seen in there which can be hired through the hotel. Its about 3km to the Jain temple so very convenient. The surrounding hills are gorgeous and there is a lot of wildlife. Two aspects that could be improved: there is no wireless internet and the free pc internet link is woefully slow. Really really slow. Also whilst breakfast was really good, dinner was so so. The restaurant is a lovely room but the food was very very average. All in all a lovely place though.

Room Tip: Room 2 is very well positioned for the garden and sitting out

Nice grounds, friendly staff. Manager is perhaps a little over-bearing. Different levels of room. We chose the mid level (Room 2) because it led on to a nice sunny garden area. Room 14 is more spacious and luxurious and is the one to take if you're only thinking about the room itself. Restaurant buffet good, otherwise menu a little spartan.

Accomodation - 7/10 - We booked tent but it turned out a concrete structure disguised as tent though the roof was real tent like. Bathroom/ toilet was mediocre bordering on poor. Toilet spray was broken but was fixed immediately upon report. Outside the property is very well appointed with swimming pools, gardens and lawns. Driver accomodation was available within premises.
Courtesy & Service- 7/10, Courteous staff. Was difficult to get Hot Tea in the morning @ 7 am
Food - 7/10 - Restaurant ambiance was excellent. Food Ok.
Value for Money - 7/10

Room Tip: You may skip the tents. These are not real tents but concerte structure clad in tent fabric. Roof is...

This resort is in a rural setting and is a nice break for a night, away from the noisy cities.

The grounds are well kept and it has a nice pool for the warmer months.

The rooms are large, tidy and basic. However, the whole hotel was freezing cold and no heater could be supplied for our hotel room. They did give us extra blankets though.

It would be good to see some female staff in the hotel - like most hotels in India there were no women to be seen. Despite the friendly service, I think female travellers travelling on their own could feel quite intimidated.

If you want a neat, quiet place away from the chaos of Indian cities, this is the place to go. Large rooms, manicured lawns, a decent, sparkling pool, Ayurvedic massage if you want it, and horse riding is also possible - it is a small resort rather than a hotel. There are no local shops so without transport there is little to see or do and you are confined to eat at the hotel. Rooms are a little desolate and cold. Food is a bit expensive and ok. No internet or wi-fi is a major flaw. Rakesh Soni was very friendly and bent over backwards to ensure our needs were met quickly. We stayed 2 nights which was too boring for us, but for others who want a neat retreat, this is a fine place.

Room Tip: In the cool season, perhaps a room up top would be warmer
