Being a young couple who likes to enjoy fine, tasty and cozy style of life, this was definitely the perfect way of relaxing. To start with an amazing view, elegant rooms, splendid spa area and delicious food. A wellness area full of surprises and for a perfect relaxing weekend. I will definitely visit again.

A bunch of us visited Nahar resort last year during a short holiday to Ooty! The only regret we had on checking out was not having booked for atleast 2-3 more days! Superb views, great hospitality, clean lovely rooms, efficient service and also a special mention for the delicious food! Being from Chennai, our expectation of the quality of south Indian food is typically high but the dishes served here would give any good restaurant in Chennai a run for its money! They even have a huge lawn where its possible to play a bit of football or cricket other than soaking in the fab view. Special mention has to be made about Mr Kushal Chand and his son Vishal who go the extra mile to ensure your stay is not run of the mill! Thumbs up and a big recommendation. Cant wait to visit it again in an even bigger group and for more days next time! Khush

Nahar retreat kotgiri is not that famous place but it is a much better place than ooty as it has the superb climate through out the year and very near to ooty but not commercial like ooty... It's a very good resort for vegetarian people and specially for Jains... The food is really great and The spa treatment is very nice good for relaxation it is little expensive but worth it

We (myself, my wife and my doughter) were here during Dec'13 for 4 nights . They gave me a room in old building . Things were not so well as commented by others . Bathroom was broken , toileteriese were poor and towels seems worn out . They claim about Five star facility but there servicese were very poor . Food was too expensive , a cup of tea cost you 45 rupee but no taste ; many a time I have to remind staff about bringing enough sugar and a spoon to mix . Most of the time they forget to bring necessary items along with food (water , glass , napkins ..) . I can't expect this bad service after paying such a high charge for each facility . They charged 300 rupee per night for heater too . There staffs are not trained at all , one day I found room having no bed and all the windows open . These guys are not flexible about timing ; when you are late for breakfast they will make face ; one day I wanted to leave early so looking for early breakfast (8:30 AM) they failed to serve and I got late . It's not at all worth spending this much money ; one can find far better places at much reasonable price .

Room Tip: You should consider it if you are promised to get a room in new building only . Services are poor as...

We went there for an outdoor event organised by our private club. Around 45 of us were there in mid of Nov'13. Initially when we started planning this trip, we were quite skeptical of its outcome. But after we reached this resort and stayed there for 2 nights and 3 days, every person part of the trip has gone bonkers about this resort and its location.

The location of the resort is very serene and calm. Located on the edge of the hills, one gets to see the valley and its beautiful surroundings. The resort has close to 12 rooms and from every room you can see the mystic valley and feel the vibrance of its enchanting surroundings. The rooms are modern and well laid. The baths attached to the room are very spacious and large. The rooms have all the amenities except for wifi connection. The resort has a huge lawn facing the valley. You can spend your time sitting in the lawn gazing at the peaks and open sky. You can also enjoy the sunset view from here. The resort has all modern facilities attached to it.

There was a gym, snooker table, table tennis, carom and a big party hall in the basement to accommodate at least 75 pax. The dining area is separate and there is also a cafe in the reception. The food is only vegetarian and met above our expectations. As a package deal taken by us, all our three times food was arranged with the resort and we were more than happy to do that. The food on all times was brilliant and excellent. We met the chef and told him about this. The management would every time involve us and finalise the main course after consulting with us.

Mr. Kushal's team is brilliant and these guys deserve a bow. The management was very very helpful. Even during the middle of the night they put up to our demands and made sure that we were well served. Every person from the team never showed a smirk or irritation on their face. We could only remember them smiling through out. Karthik, one of the managers, deserves a special mention for handling the situations with ease and getting everything done we asked for.

All in all Nahar resorts is an excellent place to spend your holidays at. Be it with family, friends or all by yourself, if you want to spend leisure time with all the comfort around, go to Nahar at Kotagiri. Visit this place and you might forget Club Mahindra for once.

Serene and calm!
