Palm Beach Resort is ideal place for relaxation, away from famous Digha chaotic crowd and hustle bustle. Though Digha is a beach destination, has ample number of hotels situated just next to the beach, this resort is still advisable to the people, whose main motto is to relax, and enjoy beach at own leisurely pace.
Though situated around a kilometer away from the beach, the resort itself is pretty beautiful, and strolling on the sprawling groung, or taking a dip in the swimming pool can be quitwe refreshing.
The rooms though not much big, but were very neat and clean, and the hotel staffs were very helpful.
Travelling to beach is not an issue. One can call reception, and they arrange for a van to go to beach. If you love walking, then walking down is another good option.
The food is quite tasty and pretty light on stomach.

The resort is well facilitaed. I would love to go back again, in future as well.

If you want to stay anywhere near the beach, then the Palm Resort is not for you. It's at quite a distance from the crowded beach, so no 'sea view' rooms and it's a blessing! The peaceful location makes it the perfect place to relax.
The property is quite well maintained with beautiful lawns and a clean blue swimming pool. Only hitch is the absurd 'opening hours' for the pool. They let you in only after 9.30. So if you are an early riser, you just can't take the plunge. Funny enough, they close the pool at 7 in the evening!
But the kitchen promises a 24 hrs service, though they 'request' you to place the order for dinner by 10. However, they allowed us to dine out on the lawn till midnight. So shouldn't complain. :)
Overall a happy experience. Should go back, should recommend to friends. Only if they made the pool hours not connected to the working hours of the pool attendants!

Room Tip: Try to get the pool side villas.

The property is beautiful though leaves a lot to be desired on the service front. The staff is polite though very slow. Needs an upgrade on the service quotient. Some portions need a little maintainence though overall the experience was very refreshing - very green. A two day trip is still recommended.

Room Tip: If Digha is where you plan to go - Book Palm Resort.... Mush better than most other properties...

I had heard a lot of positive reviews from my friends and relatives about the resort. But since I had never been there I decided to plan my stay at the palm resort, the next time I go to digha. To my surprise it was just the way i had heard about earlier.Firstly,a large ,clean, neatly maintained and beautified property-it was no less than a love at first sight! The reception was warm ,hardly taking any time for check in.A clean and tidy room is a must for a perfect vacation, and the room we were allotted was almost the perfect example for it.Clean towels, carpets bedsheets and toilet. All the facilities in the room like the a.c.,t.v etc were working absolutely fine. Then we headed towards the beautiful swimming pool and had a lot of fun for a couple f hours.Food served at the poolside was an added advantage. In the evening we had a walk around the property and admired the beautiful gardening .The food quality specialy indian and bengali food was a huge treat to our taste buds.We didnt mind the price as it was value for money.A bit far from the beach but as we had our own vehicle it hardly took us 3 mins to reach the beach.Otherwise there are vans and rickshaws which provide u a ride to the beach. The only shortcoming was a bit of delay in room service ,but we didnt mind that as it was only for a couple of hours and soon their prompt services were restored.the management was kind enough to later apologize for the same.Overall ,A WORTH VISIT,with family and friends.A very homely and pleasant atmosphere prevailed throughout our stay ,altogether making it a memorable experience.

This is a homely resort providing good bunglows for cmfortable stay! The hospitality is good. One can choose to have all meals in buffet which covers a good variety of taste. The place has a swimming pool and a lawn with cocktails n kebabs bein served in the evenings. Live functions are held on weekend evenings. The beach however is a 15mins walk. The place is accessed mostly in big groups!

To all reading this review, one and only one advice, " DO NOT GO EVEN IF U FIND NO ALTERNATIVE!!" And this is why I say.....
Went on 7/10/11 and stayed till 9/10/11. Initially looked good with the cab pick up in time from Digha station. Had to pay 100 bucks, even rickshaws will charge similar. At first look property looks nice, but the front desk staff has one Mr. Dutta who seems to be the manager and has a horrible attitude and foul language. He keeps shouting at guests at will. I asked for a late check out by 1 hr, but was forced to write 12 noon as the check out time.
Was booked for a puja spl package in a deluxe suit. The bell boy arrived after 10 mins and took us to the room. Room was v small but clean and maintained. The AC started with loud noise and cooling was slow to start with. Bathroom also small but clean. It is nowhere near 3 star as they claim. First shock, no towels in room and on asking was told cannot provide till laundry gives us. They stock no spare towels. Again reminded in the evening and one towel came for two of us, on insisting after 15 mins another came but the house keeping staff told he was making spl favour for us. Later on heard others at reception with same complaint
Next is dinner for the day. Menu was chinese and the noodles was smelly. A group of 10 people were complaining hard and they said none of the food for the last 2 days was good. In my case however, food over the next 2 days was fair enough, again no 3 star standard though.
Worst started next day. Had booked a rental cab for sight seeing, the cab went on other trip and after more than 30 mins wait, I heard the manager say it was somewhere on the road, I demanded that I be told what was possible and I shouldnt be cheated. On hearing this the manager Mr. Dutta turned abusive he started banging the table and shouting at his top voice. He started saying he was the one in control and he decides who gets what!! I was not the owner of the place and challenged me to get a cab and that he would turn away even if the cab came. I have honestly not seen another such horrible and abusive foul mouthed and ill tempered guy in a hotel front desk. The other hotel staff had to stop him from a fight. i had to call up the owner and he called up Dutta and told him to stop, later a replacement cab came. The driver told that the original one was off on another trip and Dutta was clearly lying saying that it was on the way.
Next experience, we came back from short sight seeing same day afternoon, food was nice, but in 1 hours time the room AC stopped working. Called up front desk, they told me to keep the AC off for 30 mins and try. Nothing happened, finally someone came, he repeated same thing and told it had to be serviced by a mechanic. Now what came was bolt from the blue, a fully AC so called resort has no electrician or AC service person. They call some local mechanics to do the job. As usual the mechanic was away and never turned up till I checked out, and had to spend one whole day in a sealed room with a fan on. HORRIBLE IS A SMALL WORD!! I also suspect sabtage from the manager as he had an alercation with me. and all the time the staff cudnt care less. The restaurant ACs were not working either. Finally when I asked for a discount on the bill for non working AC, they refused that too saying that package charges are non negotiable. And as long as the staff and manager do no change, I do not foresee any difference.
Finally the station drop arrived 15 mins late and thus ended a day and half of torture of what was supposed to be a trip to relax and unwind!!
To all people out there, my sincere request DO NOT VISIT EVEN BY MISTAKE!! U will repent rest of your life. It is v far from beach and on the Digha bypass, 15 mins walk or rickshaw will take u to beach. Aditya International is a better hotel with similar pricing and on the beach.

Management response:Responded 3 December 2011

Late check-out is not allowed at our resort. The food quality of our resort is of a very good standard. The rental cabs are not the company's property and so the company holds no liability for them and neither do we take any interest from this. We just help the guests by contacting the hired cabs ourselves. We have received very good reviews regarding the behavior of our staff from all the guests. Dont Judge us by this review and visit yourselves to judge us.

We arrived there at Diwali 2011 after reading the reviews here - I should say that the choice was good.
We took a 4 bedded room with AC and the facilities were nice along with balcony overlooking the pool. The pool is also good with drinks served (un-officially) while you swim.
The water supply in bath room was good too.

Now comes the cos:
1. There was no covered parking and the parking area didn't even had a locked gate. Its messy in the rains and more importantly locals have turned it into a public toilet - so be aware of this before you plan to drive yourself.
2. Its pretty far from the beach - didn't matter to us as we had our own car.
3. Food quality could have been better though we found them to be satisfactory.

Room Tip: Please book in advance before you drop in - preferably over phone.
