Very friendly owning family, who enjoy giving you excellent suggestions for small trips and how to get around on the Island. Crisp clean rooms with a marvelous view onto the Beach and into the bay. Quiet location, but nice Restaurants and Bars are just Minutes away by foot. Delicious, homemade breakfast with local specialties. 100% recommendation from us!

Hotel Afroditi is located on the small road that runs parallel to the bay of Kamares between Kamares itself and Agia Maria. You basically can't get any closer to the beach and the view is just marvellous!!! Best of all, it's very peaceful and quiet over there and walking back from Kamares at night you see the stars twinkling above you and hear some frogs croaking from the bamboo! The family running the place are very lovely people, friendly and helpful. Only minus is that the rooms are on the small side and could need some updating ...

Room Tip: For a better view choose an upstairs room.

I always tried to write a fair review as far as I can. I would say given this price Afroditi is good but not excellent.

The exterior is better than the inside (room, decor, etc). It is a very Greek style hotel. Have a courtyard, facing the beach, but room and bathroom inside is very basic.

The price include a buffet breakfast which is rather good in my mind. Biscuits, cakes, ham and cheese, boiled eggs are provided. Coffee, tea and juices. I was always the earliest guest to have the breakfast during the period I stayed. The grandma will then take out the boied eggs from the kitchen when she saw me. The area for having the breakfast is nice, too. It is a terrace though facing the main road but still a good and relaxing place to sit in.

The only bad thing is the refergerator inside the room. It was a very old one. The worst is that it caused a lot of noise at night (the engine?) and if you turn it off, your food can not be kept frozen.

The hotel is NOT very close to the port and main town. But it takes only 5-8 mins walk. At night it was quite dark walking to and back from town and so I brought a torch with me.

They provide port shuttle and if you arrived at night it is quite difficult to recognise their van. And if you missed that, just turn left when you are off the pier and walk all the way until you reach a by-road, take the left one again and walk for 2-3mins and you will see the hotel on your right.

Lovely location with the friendliest family running it. Clean and convenient location to the beach and to the port . The rooms were a little on the small side but then again we only slept there since we were out and about all day.

The owners were a lovely Greek family, I would guess grandparents & maybe it is time to pass it on & upgrade. Our room was quite expensive for what we got, it was a biggish room could easily be made nice but was very very dated, uncomfy small double bed, dark, no nice lighting, depressing pics on wall, old Formica tiny kitchen set up in corner of room. A microwave & modern unit with some nice mugs & coffee facilities would be better. Bathroom reminiscent of old days of Greece, but it was clean. Breakfast was same every day, yoghurt, tinned peaches, coffee was fresh but cold. Balcony in room was nice & got morning & evening sun. This room could be really good, just needs some money spending on it.

Lovely, friendly family run hotel opposite the beach and only five minutes walk to town. Nice and quiet. Great terrace overlooking the beach for breakfast. Nice beach for swimming and great views from first floor room balcony's. Room furniture was a bit dated but in-room safe and ceiling fan made up for that. Will stay here again.

Room Tip: Front ones have a balcony and view to the beach

The gardens are glorious, I give Afroditi that. And the elderly man that tends them, sometimes with a young boy (his grandson?) is warm and friendly. He showed me my room initially, and I succumbed even though the room was smallish and smelled musty. I can air it a bit, I thought. but I did and it filled with an army of mosquitoes that bothered me through the night (and the musty smell was still there in the morning). Worse, he was the only friendly person I encountered. When I showed an in-charge looking woman (his wife?) the chipped, badly cracked water glass in my room and requested another she did give me one, but without a smile.

I guess I just found them on a bad day....
