“Why have a menu?”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 August 2014

Great setting down on the beach, just how a traditional Greek restaurant should be. So disappointing though, we ate there twice once for lunch and once for dinner. Half the items we enquired about on the menu weren't available, and we heard others asking for unavailable dishes too. Why have such a long menu when you can't supply half of it? Surely they can't have sold out of everything that quickly. Reduce the number of dishes and do a paper printed menu, if a full reprint is too expensive, to keep on top of the seasonal items (giving the benefit of the doubt there). The food when we eventually picked something that was available was ok, but not brilliant. They've got a brilliant location so should make the most of it.

“Good local food at beach”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 August 2014 via mobile

We sampled some of the local cycladian dishes in this friendly restaurant. The faba bean paste, soutzoukakia (meat balls), lamb chops and Greek salad were all up to standards with plenty of good olive oil. Good local wine for 6 euro (white) or 8 euro (red) a liter, or kilo as the Greeks measure. Minus points are: too many dishes with french fries on the
plates and no olive oil at the table. Positive points, nice that they ask whether the appetizer shold be served separately, in most other places they just automatically dump everything together on the table. We didn't try the fish so I can give no recommendation for their specialties, but I have good faith it will be OK since after all Captain Andreas was proud on his fish as the antique pictures in the restaurant show.

“Waste of a location”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2014 via mobile

It looks lovely, right on the sand, under the trees. But the food was mediocre at best. The calamari was particularly bad, and fresh fish was limited and overpriced.

“Anything but a fish restaurant”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 May 2014

The only good aspect of this restaurant is that it has tables right on the
beach. The food was bland and tasteless and considering that it is supposed to be a
fish taverna, it left us wondering why they had none available.
