We had the pleasure of staying here over this past weekend on a bike trip...there were about 40 of us in the group and the service and friendliness of the staff would put many so called upmarket hotels to shame...it is a true gem of a place with the best vetkoeks I have ever tasted accompanied by a great lamb spit braai. The wine cellar is well worth a visit.
We stayed in Room "Rock Art" which is in the House next to the main building, very homely with furniture you would have found in your Granny's house back in the day. Thankfully unlike Granny's house the beds had electric blankets otherwise we would not have had much sleep in the -5 temperatures.
The next morning a hearty breakfast awaited us and then it was on the bike again for home...the roads in the area are excellent for biking and those dry Free State vistas are food for the soul.
Do yourself a favour and just get there...you wont be sorry.
