Gamirasu Cave Hotel
Ranked #1 of 3 Hotels in Ayvali
Certificate of Excellence

The Gamirasu Cave Hotel is one of many such hotels in the Cappadocia region, but it surely must be one of the nicest. Our room -- cave -- was spacious, well-equipped, and well-lighted despite the (obvious) absence of windows. The hotel's breakfast buffet is plentiful and varied, and its restaurant is more than adequate. We arrived late in the evening and had only a light supper, but the next night we stayed in the hotel and had a very nice dinner featuring lamb. We also engaged in a pleasant conversation with the hotel manager, Ms. Hamide Demiral, over the merits of Turkish raki vs. Greek ouzo. The only downside, or caution, is that the hotel is built into the side of a hill, so there is a lot of stair-climbing involved in going from place to place. (I didn't see any elevators; if there is one, forgive my omission.)

Stayed three nights in this wonderful unique cave hotel! Each room or suite are different, but each is beautiful and comfortable. The staff is helpful and very accommodating. The hotel is located in a small town near Goreme and close to the areas attractions. The restaurant served a great buffet breakfast and delicious a la carte dinner. I would definitely stay there again if I ever returned to Kapadokya!

Stayed twice for a total of 5 nights at this wonderful property. Firstly in a standard room which was perfect then upgraded to the Hitite suite - pure bliss. Pictures on website are accurate of room styles. We stayed half board which was excellent - food and staff very attentive to our needs. There is 1 other restaurant in the village. Hotel is about 13 kms from Urgup, but this is what makes it special. Walking around the village - cows and tractors and following the creek along side the property. The fruit trees were just coming into bud after winter. Restaurant serves local foods each meal. Between our 2 stays staff were planting the gardens for spring/summer. Pool was empty during our stay. The property is unique and the staff are wonderful.

We greatly enjoyed this unique hotel, located in a small town (Ayvali), near many of the most interesting sites of the region. The service was excellent, the room we had, large and comfortable, and the food both restaurant and breakfasts, very good and generous.
There is a nice, small swimming pool, and the vistas from our door of the the town, most picturesque.
The town is charming, undeveloped and hilly. Chickens roam, traffic is minimal, and townspeople friendly. It is the real Turkey; a great contrast to Istanbul.

Room Tip: All rooms have views at the doors, which overlook the town.

Impressive is all aspects. This gem is a little way out of town and accessed by small vehicles over the last 100 m or so. They also provide a shuttle into town.
Everyone is very helpful, all meals are great and dinner well priced.
It's worth it and Cappadocia is brilliant, make sure you check out all the tours especially the balloons and the underground city.

We stayed three nights in the delux room. I liked everything about this hotel. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and I received a complimentary beer on a very hot day. The staff were extremely friendly, the room large and clean, wifi worked excellent, nice warm water in the pool, clean towels next to pool, complimentary shuttle to Urgup, complimentary bicycles and the list goes on.

The only negative was the extremely loud Malaysian and Japanese tourgroups. They have no respect for other tourists and guests at the hotel. At four in the morning they were shouting and screaming, mealtime they just took over. Sometimes I could not hear my wife talking. Shame on you, you are a disgrace for your countries.

This is not the hotel's fault and I will recommend this establisment anyday. I met the owner, very nice guy.

Well done.

Right from the moment we set foot in this place, we were made to feel welcome and comfortable. The attitude of the entire staff was truly amazing; genuinely friendly, helpful and considerate of all our specific needs. The food was really good and though we opted for a prepaid meal with a fixed menu, they changed some of the dishes to our liking.
- the breakfast spread was very good
- the room service was prompt
- wifi too was surprisingly fast, considering that Ayvali is a remote place
- the swimming pool was very neatly maintained and the water always warm (considering the fact that it was cold outside)

The only thing missing is an on site spa, which I believe is in the making and will be available in a year or two

Over all, the location is simply amazing and the whole experience of staying in a cave is out of this world. A must stay for any couple looking for an experience of a lifetime.

Room Tip: If moolah his not a concern, the king suite is a must try
