We have stayed several times at Clan Cottages and never been disappointed. In fact each time seems better than the last! We had a short visit this month and decided to stay in another cottage which proved a great experience. The views overlooking the loch were stunning and we felt so relaxed.
John and Mary (the owners) continue to keep a very high standard within the cottages and their friendliness and helpfulness is amazing. Nothing appears to "be a bother" and their knowledge of the area is second to none. Anyone staying at Clan Cottages is assured of a very warm welcome.
We will certainly be back for another stay and hopefully it will be longer on this next visit. We always return refreshed and relaxed.
Thank you John and Mary for these wonderful Cottages.

Room Tip: Cottage # 3 has the best views!

We were at the end of our 6 weeks of travelling around Scotland and had wanted to spend some nights in a thatched cottage. We took the chance to stay 2 nights here and loved it! Owners are very kind and helpful, there is a huge supply of dvd's, books and board games as well as plenty of local tourist info. It was a bit out of Oban but our GPS got us there without any drama. Oban was a beautiful town to wonder around, especially when its quiet season.

The cottages were spacious, we had a 2 bed/2 bath and the owner was kind enough to give us a last minute special as well as the price for the 1 bed cottage. Much appreciated.

Only a few things slightly off to note, the odd dial/handle/knob around the place kept falling off, nothing major a bit of glue won't fix. Apart from that we had an issue with the cycles not running properly on the washing machine but we mentioned that to the owner and he looked into it straight away.

Overall a very good stay, definitely worth it to look at your cottage from the outside and give yourself a really unique experience

Thank you for taking the time to write a review for us. We are glad you enjoyed your stay.
We are open all year round and people appreciate this as so many accommodation providers close over the winter. As you say, Oban is a lovely town to wander around off season and there is still lots to see and do. Thanks again for writing this review for us.

We stayed for 3 nights with friends, 4 adults and one child and we all loved this place, a great find! The cottages are charming traditional looking with stone walls and thatch but inside are totally modern and built for comfort. Despite staying during a stormy period, the cottage was so warm and cosy and also well sound-proofed so we could hardly hear the bad weather outside. The kitchen is very well thought out, even a large roast dinner was possible with enough pans, dishes etc.
the location is lovely, our cottage had a loch view and when the weather did ease up we found some nice walks around the area.
I would definitely come back here any time of year!

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights at Clan Cottages with our infant son.
The location is breath taking, minutes from the centre of Oban but feels like the middle of nowhere. Down a country road, right at the edge of Loch Nell, the scenery is spectacular and the cottages themselves are stunning.
Traditional outside but they are in fact new builds with modern interiors and a better equipped kitchen than we have at home. Fancy doing some baking? There's scales, cake tins and measuring jugs. Travelling around and fancy a picnic? There's tupperwear, cling film and tin foil.
Unfortunately the weather wasn't kind while we were there but the on site tourist info shed is well stocked with DVDs, books and games which kept us entertained.
Had the weather been better, we'd definitely have made use of the rowing boats on the canal outside the cottages.
The grounds are beautifully landscaped and I went a run most mornings on the very quiet roads around the cottages which provided postcard views of the loch.
The owner John is lovely, giving recommendations of things to do on a rainy day with a baby in tow and was even nice when I accidentally broke the washing machine.
Incidentally, if you're looking for a nice meal the Seafood Temple was the best we tried - tiny little restaurant with great service and delicious food.
Clan Cottage are truly fabulous accommodation and the perfect base for exploring all the Highlands have to offer. We can't rate them highly enough.

We were absolutely enchanted with the Clan Cottages - the owner could not have been more accommodating and helpful. Our cottage looked out on Loch Nell and the interior of our cottage could not have been more pleasing. If you ever have a chance to spend time around Oban DO NOT MISS staying in this heavenly place. We were there in the spring of 2008 and after travelling twice all over Scotland this is still my most favorite place to remember

Room Tip: We looked at all of the cottages and each is wonderful in its own way. But those facing Loch Nell ha...
