We stayed here last year, beautiful location. The hotel itself is located on a fort and you can access the beach within a few steps. You cannot really call it a private beach. Cause its open to public and its tourist spot and u can access the beach through a small gate from d hotel but then they have an adjacent property which is the holiday village and it has a private beach. They provide free shuttles for that. Not very far though... we had opted for a 4 day stay. I must say we dont regret even a single minute of our holiday. Excellent location, beautiful view, quality service (after all its THE TAJ) Amazing food as well, we opted for an all day buffet and I must say they have an excellent assortment when it comes to buffet, nothing repetitive or regretful. All d 4 days were very good on our palate. Planning a visit this year as well, a must stay if ur visiting goa.

Overall the experience was very good. We loved the room, food, location. However, we felt there was no pool for kids, the wash room was little cramped and there was some missing in the staff. Our room pretty close to the road that lead to aguada point. Therefore, we could hear lot of noises and hustle of people. I recommend that people who are booking should ask for rooms from 101-120. They are much better located. So if you ask me this question if i will go back to the same place. The answer is yes as i will ask for other side which is more peaceful and relaxed.

just now i had been there with my 2 children 5yr and 3 yr old . rooms, ambience, scenery everything is sublime.thai food of banayan tree is awesome.but only problem is with cartcar service.
it is spread in 28 acres.so some rooms are far away from pool and restaurant.and cart car service is pathetic.u have to wait more than 1/2 an hour for buggi and not possible to walk with kids.so there r limitataions for enjoying pool, activity center.thats why not recommended

This property of Taj -fort aguada in goa is excellent by all means.in term of location, view, natural beauty and rooms all is fantastic. I Had stayed at Hermitage Villa which was excellent and was located on height.nicely preserve original portugal style living.Rooms were spacious with additional separated living room with private balcony, garden and lots of natural beauty. There is no reason to skip this property if you are visiting goa.But as this property is surrounded by densely natural beauty you might find some small insects/baby cockroaches inside your room which might irritate you. daily there are kids activity carried out at giggles( kids area)some are free of cost and some are chargeable.Buffet breakfast is good, you have private excess to beach where lot of water sports are carried out.(o/side agency) Jiva spa is worth trying which is adjoining to another property called Taj holiday village.Internal they provide car facility from reception to your villa and vic e versa....Overall mine experience was very fantastic.......

Room Tip: Superior charm rooms are located near reception with new construction where you are near to restaura...

I travelled here on 15th august 2012 weekend. It was by far one of the worst experience i've had.It has to do with 2 facts taj was full and we were coming after a 4 days stay at the new Grand Hyatt Property in bambolim. Our expectations were quite high after a refreshing stay at hyatt and taj was a complete disappointment. It started with the rooms.Staying with a kid we were given a room with twin beds. When i mentioned a specific request was given for double bed they joined the twin beds and that was a disaster. It looked like the area below the beds was never cleaned .The rooms looked tired and worn out and quite antique. The kids activity centre was an excuse with a small room.the worst part was morning breakfast.Being a holiday weekend the hotel was full.Still it was the first time ever in all my stays everywhere that we had to wait for 20 mins to get a breakfast table. The menu was not too great and the stay was a complete disppointment. There was a feeling of being rushed everywhere the staff seemed harried and all in all a big let down.would never stay at fort aguada again...

We visited the hotel at the end of April.
As mentioned in other reviews the location is fantastic.
We got a good deal on the room via Ebookers and an upgrade to a room with a sea view and a large terrace.
We like the way the staff remembered our name and knew when we were checking out etc.
The staff at breakfast were excellent. Similarly the pool staff were good providing towels on loungers whenever we arrived at the pool. The housekeeping staff we never saw in the room but the room was always clean and tidy, the towels made into animals on the bed.
My wife was a little disappointed with the food which was often too spicy for her taste. The food in Marisco we expected to be quite plain grilled or fried fish, but it follows the modern trend of multiple flavours (a side effect of Master Chef perhaps). The Italian restaurant was good.
The bar was an ideal place to have a cocktail and watch the sun go down.
The weather was not as hot or as humid as we expected, but it was quite windy. Things were quite quiet and many of the bars on the beach were closed or being demolished, they have to be removed by the end of May, before the monsoon season starts.
If we visited north Goa again we would staying here again. The hot climate and good service make it ideal for a winter sun holiday with a bit of sightseeing in Goa's old churches, temples and the fort.

I had been to Taj last year, the experience was just great. Post that i went to Goa this year also but we still remember our trip to Taj last year.

The ambience is great and the staff is absolutely great. Not money minded at all like some of the other resorts that we stayed at. I had travelled with my kids last year, so we had taken a room which opens that onto the garden. This gave us a lot of convinience since the kids could play in the lawn, they had a trampulien very close to the room which my kids just loved, also there were hamocks in the garden, which were very nice to relax. The property is connected to the fort, which is nice to walk upto. They have cars which you can use to go between the 2 taj properties situated close to each other. We had taken a package that included meals, we were allowed to have our meals at either of the properties, which gives a good variation.

One small instance that comes to my mind was, we had gone to play lawn tennis and my husband or kid forgot their cap in the area. Before we reached the hotel the staff noticed this, informed us about the same and the cap reached our room prior to us. This might seem like a small thing but felt great.

Room Tip: If you are travelling with kids take the rooms which open onto the garden.
