I booked two nights as it was cheap at $99 on Fri and Sat nights compared to just about every other Sydney hotel. The location was fine for me using a car from the Central Coast to meet friends in Balmain, Alexandria and in the city. Parking was free and that is a bonus in Sydney. Great for shopping at Ikea, which is practically next door, or at Newtown/Marrickville. Close to the airport, when required, but aircraft noise not a problem. The room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable with fresh, plump pillows. Yes, the shower was a cubicle but the water was lovely and hot. Clean towels on day 2. Cheap soap but ok. I didn't care about the upmarket Mercure Hotel leftover basin being dumped in the bedroom as I stayed solo so no one could see me using it. Next door to free wi-fi at 24 hour Maccas, where the coffee is better and cheaper than the machine in the hotel. Ring ahead for late check-in after 10pm because if machine is out of order you may be locked out all night. I would stay there again in Sydney but do wish they'd put an electric jug and even a disposable coffee mug in the room as I took my own coffee bags expecting to use them and I don't function properly without a coffee straight out of bed. A spare blanket would have been good. I had to turn the heating up in the room as it was a chilly night, but the reverse cycle air-cond worked well, Couldn't have cared less about no pay tv. Hardly had tv on as I can watch that at home but free to air is good in Australia, so why pay for what you don't use?

Room Tip: If you have a lot of luggage ask to be on the first floor so you only have one flight of stairs. The...

Stayed here years ago, it was ok for one night.room was very basic with an airconditioner, double bunk bed and a tv, clock radio. nothing else. Drove past it today and all the signage has been rebranded as the 'Budget Ibis'.

The greeting as you enter was not great, a staff member in the reception area eating some very strong smelling Indian food, the area is a bit of a dump with idiots playing loud music in the car park late at night. The rooms were adequate but nothing special and not very clean either. I can't say I would stay here again but the only plus was the price.

We stayed for one night the hotel room was clean and quiet, was cheaper than a lot of dirty motels in Sydney's inner west. The bathrooms are small but ok for one night. The hotel is conveniently located.

Spent the night of 16th August here.
I chose this hotel because I had business in the airport.
It is not the closest hotel to the airport or for that matter not even the closest F1 hotel to the airport. It is 10-15 min drive to airport. But at $89 it is $40 cheaper than a F1 hotel that is 5 mins from the airport.

On the matter of price, F1 hotels in Australia are significantly more expensive than the European cousins. Why? I do not know.

B/fast (bread, cereal, yogurt and coffee) is an extra $7 if you so choose. I did not try it so cannot say how good or bad it was.
I chose this hotel for its location, next to a 24 hr McDonald’s. Less than a 1 min walk! KFC is 1 min the other direction. And it has free onsite parking.
It is 5 min drive from IKEA where you can eat and drink from 0930-2100 most days.
The hotel is 20-minute drive to two shopping malls (in different directions).
The Broadway Shopping Centre near Sydney University has 3 hr FREE car parking, so you can leave your car there, hop on a bus or take a 10 min cab ride into town, explore the city and return to collect your car without incurring the horrid in town car parking fees.

The other mall is Eastgardens in Pagewood.

Both malls offer supermarkets, cinemas and coffee shops.
On site laundry (coin op). Check in is 1400 checkout is 1000

There is no telephone in the room.
In the bathroom there is no face cloth, no bath mat and no shampoo.

Wifi costs $5 per 30 mins and must be consumed in one sitting. That is one cannot surf for 10 mins, log out and later surf for 20 mins all on the initial $5.

In the area (by which I mean 15 min drive from the airport) you can find cheaper hotels than F1, which at $89 is expensive compared to what is offered in areas closer to the city, but I doubt you’ll find another hotel chain at this price.

The room was functional, desk, tv, large bed but too soft
Air cond was useful to warm the room but way too loud to enjoy a sound sleep
Windows CAN be opened (very important to some, including me).
If you have a car, this is great to/from the airport for a night or two.
If you have no car, then this is not an ideal hotel.

The sound of aeroplanes from 5:00am may disturb some sleepers.
The tv has only analogue free to air channels. A total of 5 channels.
And a warning to folks with kids: be careful what channel you switch to if you have kids in the room because one channel (an adult channel) can be accessed very easily. Like the 5 free to air channels there is no need to click the ‘pay per view’ button or select any parental control switch.
There is no fridge, micro or coffee maker in the room.
Overall this hotel is clean, safe, quiet, but pricey for what it offers.
