Located not exactly close to the train station, the hotel offers great views of the spectacular Fuji San. We stayed here two nights into a tatami style room, cosy and comfortable.
The outdoor bath was nice, dinner and breakfast - simply delicious and the service was overall very good! For those into traveling light - there is a small facilities room - coin laundry and dryer. And for those traveling with their Iphone and IPad on, wi-fi for free in the lounge.

When checking out: unfortunately the hotel Van service to the train station is first at 10.10 am,
so if you need to leave earlier than that you will have to pay a taxi or take the local/ or the sightseeing bus.

Stayed in one of the Western-style maisonettes and the Mt Fuji view from the 2-storey windows was simply magnificent. This is unfortunately the only nice thing I could say about my room. The room was quite old and poorly maintained. I would definitely recommend paying a bit more for a nicer room in the new block.

Appreciated the complimentary shuttle service to and from the train station. Dinner consisted of many courses, very elaborate and impressive for the cost of the room. A big shout-out to the short-haired (older) lady who served me at dinner and breakfast - thank you very much for your very warm hospitality!

Three of us stayed one night in a Japanese room with a view of Mt Fujii, magnificent view.

Kaiseki dinner was really good with sashimi including lobster, salmon with the surface slightly grilled, tuna & swordfish. Udon was very nice, steamed then served with tasty broth. Dessert includes a cake in the shape of Mt Fuji.

There is outdoor onsen with a direct view of Mt Fuji and 2 individual tubs. There is also an indoor onsen. We visited thrice.

The hotel offers free bicycle rental and we rode along the lake with view of Mt Fuji.

Breakfast is buffet style and the spread was very good.

Highly recommended accommodation.

Travelling with my daughter, sister and niece we arrived to a freezing, snowy wonderland and a very warm welcome. We booked 2 ryokan style rooms with an amazing view across the lake to Mt Fuji. Our only regret was the cloud that obscured Mt Fuji for most of the stay but the snow and icicles everywhere were magical. They informed us on how to negotiate the Japanese customs of no shoes on the tatami floors, how to use the onsen (hot spring) made it very easy and enjoyable.what amazed us was the dinner that was included in the price (8 courses). The food was beautifully prepared and amazing. Eating dressed in the provided traditional yukata made it more special. Breakfast buffet the next morning catered for the Aussies like us through to traditional Japanese breakfast. Am so glad I was brave enough to experience the onsen and went to bed relaxed in our bedding that magically appeared when we were at dinner. Thank you Sunnide for a wonderful Japanese experience.

We stayed one night and the night before we arrived there was a big snow in all the area, so it was very nice to see all the Lake Kawaguchiko surroundings with plenty of snow. We arrived by train to Kawaguchiko station and from the next door tourist office they assisted us to call the Hotel to pick us (only from 2 to 5pm).

While waiting make sure you get a free wifi card that you can use for 2 days (very good option if you plan to stay only one night and depart from train at the same station as you also can get free wifi the day after before you take your train.

From the station to the Hotel it was around 10 minutes with their van and once there we booked a room facing the lake and it was a very spacious room with a fantastic view, so it is really worth it spending more to get the room with better views.

Dinner was included in the room rate and you are allowed to wear the traditional yukata. Dinner was Japanese style with many dishes and it was very good with an excellent service.

Breakfast in the morning was buffet but again with so many choices that will make you feel full very fast.

The only thing they should consider to improve is to have wifi in all the room, as they only have it in lobby and our room was far from there and some international TV channels, at least some news channel will be nice.

For check out they only have a Van service to the station at 10.10am, so if you need to leave earlier than that you can ask them to call for a taxi and it will cost you ¥2,780.

But overall with such wonderful view you get and so excellent service for just one night it is not a big deal.

It doesn't get any better than waking up to appreciate from your comfortable tatami room Mt Fuji and Kawaguchiko lake slowly changing colours as the dawn breaks and the sun rises. Or you may find it better to enjoy the same while taking a hot termal bath in the resort's onsen. Add to that a very good buffet breakfast catering for Japanese and Western tastes, a full course dinner, free bikes to ride along the shore to town and around the lake, stunning views everywhere, and you know you've got something fantastic. I recommend this location to take in the best views from Mount Fuji and having a relaxing time.

Stayed at sunnide for 2 nights. The japanese room transform from a living hall to bedroom at night.
Futons are set at dinnertime.

Dinner is abundance. Hotel staff very accomodative on the dinner as we do not eat any pork, chickwn or beef nor sake.
Hence they prepared special seafood selection

Staff do not speak english much

Best to rent car to get to places. Parking is free at hotel.

The room has gorgeous view of mt fuji. A wonderfuk sight to start the day.
