“Large and professional hostel”
Reviewed 15 July 2014 via mobile

K's house is a large and professional hostel to stay in, it doesn't have the same charm as some of the smaller ones but it offers faultless service and amenities.

Nice dorm rooms, a huge kitchen and living room with a tatami room table and a large tv. Plenty of space to relax and stretch your legs after hiking up Fuji like I did.

They had fast wifi which was good as we had some future travel plans to make which was a real advantage. Hostel had really good maps of the local area and recommendations for places to eat and things to do.

The free shuttle service to the station was a massive added bonus and really made life pretty easy. Great place to base yourself!

We had two children with us and so booked the family tatami mat room. The kids loved staying here, and we were really happy and comfortable. Fantastic common areas, and extremely helpful staff. We would definitely stay here again. K's House in other locations also look great and we would try them on our next trip. Recommend arranging transport/calling for a pick up from the train station if you have a lot of bags to carry.

They pride themselves on the experience here. The bicycle hire at 150 yen per hour is great. Lovely easy cycling around Lake Kawaguchiko and Lake Saiko if you feel energetic. (I took about 4 hours to cycle around both at a casual pace)
Hostel is about 15 mins walk from the station. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. (The quest to climb Fuji always raises issues)
Beds are big and comfortable. Common areas are clean and well organised. Strong showers. Lockers available for valuables. Kitchen well organised with free tea and coffee.
Overall you can sense the staff striving to be the best and it pays off.

The free pick up from the train station was just the start. We were in a dormitory, which although was shared with a women who snored louder than a hippo, was clean and spacious with tatami mats. The whole hostel has great decor - modern but with traditional japanese design here and there. There is a large common area with a TV,scoffs and tables to eat at. The kitchen is big and very well equipped. The location is great, the staff are friendly, you can rent bikes and there is a shuttle back to the train station. Ideal!

Great value for money! I stayed in the female dormitory; it was very clean and comfortable. The staff members were very friendly and helpful. They also provide free pick-up and send-off to and from the kawaguchiko station which was convenient for travelers. The hostel is also near an onsen. A great location near Mt. Fuji.

The staff were really helpful by providing local knowledge as well as discount coupons for various attractions!

My friend and I stayed in a 6 bed dorm and it was very, very clean and everyone was very courteous toward each other. The kitchen was really big! It was very easy to share the space and cook dinner. The living area has 4 sets of sofas, dining tables and chairs, as well as a tatami area!

The walk to K's House from Kawaguchi Eki was a long one, only because I had a suitcase prepped for 3 months of travel. If you are travelling light, it will be an enjoyable stroll.

The hostel is located very close to Lake Kawaguchi as well!

All in all, very well priced and a very enjoyable stay!
