My husband & I recently stayed at Te Manava Villas & Spa which is a sister to Pacific Resort. This is luxury accommodation at it's best. Super king-sized bed, fully operational kitchen, two person shower, marble bathroom, gorgeous courtyard including our own pool to name just a few of the special features! We had the opportunity to dine at Pacific Resort on three occasions and each time, the staff, food, drinks and ambience wowed us! Nothing better than eating at sunset, watching the moon come up and reflect over the ocean while you're thoroughly enjoying a magical meal together. The Pork Belly in particular was exquisite! Thank you to all of the staff, especially Lester, who made our stay a magical experience. We'll be back!

An extremely disappointing end to a wonderful holiday. We landed here on our way back from the US. Some points were ok but overall a very poor experience. It would take to long to write it all, so below is a general overview:
Checkin very early morning was great we were met by a lovely young man who was polite and helpful. Planning to stay in the beachfront villa for the bulk of our stay, we opted to pay for a cheaper room from the night before to ensure we had a room on arrival, however our actual room was really, which saved transferring rooms during that first day which was great. Sadly however this villa was beyond disappointing- especially considering what you pay. More than a little outdated, it was dirty and needed a lot of general maintenance. We were warned 4/5 times to be very careful about security in the unit, however the room had two broken window catches which prevented us closing them.....The major for us was the excessive sand in two of our beds the first night, one can only assume that linen maynot have been changed between stays, however management would never entertain this I am sure. The terrible weather was outside the control of anyone, however management of a number of family parties left to wander in the horrid weather on their last day was badly managed. Food eaten in the resturant was nice, however food arriving via room service was lackluster and poor. We waited till our return to question the management and requested their parting wishes to all departing visitors that day to only place TA Reviews of 4 and above on this site, anything lower they requested an email. To this day no real response. Would we return - never ! This resort ruined our overall experience of Rarotonga and we will continue to
return home via Fiji.

A fantastic place when the sun shines but even nice when it doesn't. Easy to relax, lovely beach & lagoon, clean spacious rooms & wonderful staff that couldn't do enough for us.
Menu lacked a little imagination but food was tasty, not cheap.
Plenty for the kids, great wedding venue, totally romantic. Local Roosters very vocal.

Room Tip: Beach view rooms are the very best

We have recently returned from a holiday at The Pacific Rarotonga and are still feeling relaxed and have a post holiday glow or a tan and great memories. As you can imagine having a holiday with children can be a contradiction in terms but we can honestly say that staying at the Pacific we did have a wonderful relaxing time. The food was excellent, the staff were all very friendly and professional and the setting was gorgeous. You didn't realize how many other guests there were till you went to the restaraunt or beach. Our room was a 2 bedroom unit, it was clean and comfortable especially our bed. It could do with a refurb (I understand this about to commence) however we were outside at the beach or poolside 95% of the day so for a comfy clean place to sleep and get changed in it was perfectly adequate. We did manage to check out two other resorts while we were there 1. The Rarotongan-would not recommend that to anyone- very run down and the staff were rude and disinterested. 2. the Edgewater our friends were staying there- They have a great kids club and creche and the lunch we had there was nice. The setting was not as nice as The Pacific- though the beach was still lovely (saw whales breaching just over the reef). We loved The Pacific so much that I am in the process of booking our next holiday for next winter !

Room Tip: I would not advise booking a room/bungalow near that backs onto the neighboring property which runs...

We attended a wedding at Pacific resort for a week and booked a beach front room. The room was lovely clean and had amazing views.

The location is one of the nicest on the island.

The staff looked after every need and were always prompt and efficient.

There are lots of dining options within walking distance of the hotel.

We will stay here again.

This resort was recommended to us as the perfect place to get married by our travel agent. Upon arrival at 2 am in the morning, check in was swift, a quick run down of the breakfast buffet for the following morning and a site map, then told it was time for bed and got ushered to our room.
We had a beach front suite, good size, glorious view in the morning, sun rising and a wonderful outlook over the lagoon. However the room was dated with a mouldy smell in the bathroom. Shower was walk in and a good size. Shower leaked through the door if the nozzle was turned outwards so generally had to mop up water off the tiles after a shower.
Restaurant was set on the beach in a marquee, sand between your toes, beautiful dining there for breakfast and dinner as well as cocktail hour, however the meals are on the expensive side and we were highly disappointed that in the place of the fresh fish option was tuna!! Something not quite right with tuna fish and chips. To make up for that we thank Billie and Luisa for your excellent dinner service, lovely to see a welcoming smile and someone willing to stop for a chat.
Leilani, our wedding coordinator, thank you for organising a perfect day, everything that we wanted you provided, without question and stress. Your calming influence on the day was appreciated. Nice touch of flower petals on the bed and a bottle of wine in the fridge to top off a perfect day.
Housekeeping for completed everyday to a high standard.
Overall a nice stay in an up market resort.

Room Tip: Beach front suite room 101, is on the end of the block of suites, set back from the rest, offered mo...

We stayed at the Pacific Resort for a week in August 2013 (2 adults and 2 children (1 & 4yrs) - for the most part the resort was faultless. We got off to a bit of a rough start having made a couple of special requests which were not honoured on arrival (microwave in room, and our room to be located next door to the friends we were holidaying with) however, after bringing these issues to the attention of the staff they very quickly put things right. The room was great, having initially had some reservations about all being in one room together it worked out perfectly and had all the amenities we required. Excellent on-site facilities from the Sandals restaurant on the beachfront through to the 'beach hut' with its complimentary kayaks, snorkelling gear, coral shoes, buckets/spades etc. Friendly, reasonably attentive staff though it was obvious the restaurant kitchen struggled at times as the service was less than speedy (which can be tricky with hungry littlies). Overall, a beautiful resort, in a gorgeous location with friendly staff. The only spoiler being the 4 or 5 dogs that roamed the resort and beachfront which did not appear to belong to the staff, were not friendly, and generally made the children quite uncomfortable.
