Need somewhere to work and play in Rarotonga. Look no further.
AND if you come to the Cook Islands to do nothing, there is hardly anywhere better. Just check-in and stay. Everything is on tap or really close by.
I was contracted to provide training to some trades on the Island and decided to encourage my wife along for a mixed business and pleasure trip.
Pacific Resort has it all. Our beachfront suite looked over the lagoon and nearby motu to the reef and we woke to magnificent sunrises and sipped cocktails in peace as the moon rose.
The service is great all day even in the water or on a sunlounger on the beach, from flat whites, to local Kiva beer and well made cocktails. And the Ika Mata at lunch, one of the best.
Good facilities for small groups for training and meetings, and only a few minutes on the anti-clockwise bus to town if you feel the need, BUT why bother.
The only let down is the snorkeling in the immediate location in the lagoon. But if you walk/swim/kayak to the motus, you will find reasonable spots on the outer side, and just a few minutes on the clock-wise bus a great spot awaits.
Ten years since our first stay here. Wish we hadn't tried the others now. We know what we missed!

Pacific Resort Rarotonga offers an excellent place to stay in the Muri Beach/Lagoon area. The staff are wonderful! The accommodations are very nice. Suite 100 is fantastic. We will definitely stay here again upon our next visit to the Cook Islands.

Room Tip: Suite 100 is excellent!

We had a lovely time at this resort but really feel that the restaurant was very average for the price. I would highly recommend eating elsewhere as there are plenty of other options outside of the resort

Our first trip to Rarotonga and so. Glad we stayed here.
Had a beach front studio with a good size room and a view that was Surreal .
Our family was here so it was nice to see it had a kids club as well for option if needed.
You pay a little more than some other places on the island but it's well worth it .
In great service and the standard accommodation compared to other resort that are also child friendly..
Handy shops close by to walk too.

Room Tip: Beach front or one bedroom units

Look no further this property ticks all the boxes. I'm a travel agent and very picky when it comes to accommodation. This was by far the best ever Resort chain I've stayed with. When we first decided to get married in Raro I thought of the Pacific. My wedding planner was Leilani and she was amazing. When we arrived we were made to feel like the most important people there. Leilani and her team made sure everything was prefect. The food the room the added touches the Ceremony the wedding and reception were perfect. They even organized or honeymoon in aitutaki at their sister Resort which was truely romantic and breath taking. Thank you to Leilani and the team.

We booked a studio room (24) which turned out to be quite a large room, double bed (thin sheets), Modern Sony TV (only analogue stations/a few/poor quality) no DVD player attached nor Library at reception (why not?), MW/Toaster/Kettle sink/fridge only aka typical NZ arrangement, small bathroom(only shower), basin no plug!, plenty of hot water, thin towels. The room had a balcony which looked out into the nice gardens and was a few steps from both the reception and the beach front. So spec wise average rating but sadly also the room felt all a bit dated and tired. It never felt great to go back to. Looking around the estate there are other units that look a bit more contemporary and fresh, which we understood to have been refurbished a while back- however these come at a significantly higher price.
Breakfeast was also very basic with a limited choice as far as the standard buffet went, ok you could pay extra for a decent coffee or a cooked add on dish but it meant you didn't feel spoilt.
However we had a lunch and a couple of dinners at their Barefoot Restaurant on the beach and will say they were all very good quality and good value and the service from Billie and her staff was great..
Beach wise they have dedicated loungers and large bean bags for exclusive guest use but (as for all R. beach side) the beach is accessible to all so depending on your attitude this is either good or bad/ interesting to people watch +dogs/no privacy from onllookerrs and not so quiet.
The view of the islands from the hotel beach is attractive with the sight and sound of the waves crashing over the lagoon edge in the distance, and the water is so safe as it hardly comes above your waist for much of the distance.
.
Do check out the hotel web site as we did get a good package deal in staying 5nights.
We did enjoy our stay, the staff were all friendly and helpful. Regretfully the standard of rooms/resort quality and value for money does not compare well with the resorts in many of the Asian countries which can also offer the Hot sandy beaches/warm seas and humid inland countryside package/experience.

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Pacific resort and can only say the most amazing things! We stayed for 7 nights in the premium beachfront suite... it was gorgeous & probably the best option for a couple getting married. It was the downstairs room which meant you could literally walk a few metres out of your room and you were on Muri beach. We had our two year old with us aswell and it meant he could just play on the grass outside the room and we didnt have to worry too much. The general service of the resprt was excellent, everyone is so friendly and welcoming. From a wedding perspective, you leave Auckland feeling stressed as a bride (as you have so much to still do once you get to the resort) but once you arrive your wedding planner (ours was Leilani) takes you through all the things that need to be done, drives you to the registry, the celebrant, the florist etc and makes you feel calm and excited about the upcoming day. The venue for the ceremony and reception is beautiful... if you are wanting a romantic island wedding then this is definitley the perfect spot. the only negative I have to say is that the music/reception has to be turned off at 10.30pm but thats completely understandable as you are in a resort with other guests. We had 40 guests at our wedding, whom pretty much all stayed at the Pacific and everybody loved the location, cleanliness, service and general atmosphere! The night before the wedding I realised that I hadnt requested the wedding cake so Leilani told me not to worry and took care of it. I dont know where & how she found a wedding cake at short notice but there was one and it was so yummy! When we got back to our room on the wedding night, it had been decorated with flowers and towels and complimentary wine!oh and the cocktails you get to drink while lying on the lounges on the beach - WOW! Pina colada anyone!! We cannot wait to return for our anniversary! Thank you Pacific for the best holiday we have had to date!

Room Tip: The premium beachfront suite in my opinion is the nicest for a couple. Many of our friends stayed in...
