Area, stuff to do:
We spent four nights at Muri Shores bungalow at Muri beach. We actually lived on the beach, we had a mini grocery store placed just two minutes with walking distance from us. The bus is only going one time an hour (some days maybe two), so the best thing is just to rent a scooter. It's not very expensive and it's easy to get a "cook island scooter driver licence". Rarotonga is not a very big island, so you can drive around the whole island under an hour. You have to visit the Island dance and buffet night. Don't remember the name of the place, but it is the most popular on the whole island. It's only five minutes walking distance from the bungalow. The food in the two biggest supermarkets (who is in the town, by the way), is some expensive because most of it is imported from New Zealand.
It's very nice, and the size of it is great for a couple. Not too small, and not too big. You have your own veranda with a view to the amazing lagoon. You actually have your own sunbeds as well. Since the bungalows is new, the decor is very delicate.
Krystina has been a really good host. She has taken care of almost everything! We arrived very late at night, and she had fixed a key for us who was easy to find. Under our whole stay, she told us if it was anything at all, we should just call her. We had our one phone with her number on. She was very friendly and helped us out with questions. She is a very cozy girl. We was going to visit Aitutaki for some days, and she even had our luggage stored at her mom's house while we were gone. We had too much luggage to carry on with us since we were travelling around the world. They drive our luggage, and us, to her mom's house were we could take a shower (have to check out 10 am, and the flight didn't go before 15.30 pm). Very good hospitality from here mom as well.
Willy, Krystina's brother, drive us to the airport for 40 dollar. A little expensive, but we heard that the taxi drivers was taken even more. When we come back from Aitutaki, we called Krystina in the evening and ask if he would drive us again (too bad planning from our site), and yes, he could drive us! :-)
Krystina and her family is very friendly, and gives you "the little extra". You will feel very comfortable if you rent this bungalow.
