Clean, comfortable room, friendly staff, good beer, and a lovely cooked breakfast. A B&B to recommend.

On my way for fishing trip with my friends, we decide to pull into this lovely hotel and have something to eat. Once we all walk into this place full of heritage and had our meals ,we stay there for two whole days despite that we suppose to stay somewhere in Dungeness.
Good size rooms, very clean and well decorated throughout. Very friendly atmosphere and good food, ( Complements to the Chefs ). Good trip, one to remember for sure.

Would highly recommend to everyone.
Thanks

The Ship Hotel was a convenient location for a long weekend break and to visit friends. The food in the hotel was very good, breakfasts were well cooked although for some reason the cereal had run out most mornings despite only being a relatively small number of guests staying (only 8 guest rooms). The Sunday carvery was also very good and value for money. The hotel is let down by its guest rooms. They are small, beds are very old (they were in the twin and single rooms we occupied) and the bathrooms very cramped for space although having said that the showers did work well (no bath in either room). Noise was the biggest issue in the rooms from bathroom (saniflow box), unidentified noises from locked cupboard and the noise from the bar below, especially on the Friday night when there is a disco until midnight (don't expect talking/shouting to stop when the music does though).

Situated on the High St, the location is good for the shops etc. Staff friendly. However the double room I stayed in was tight for space and situated to the front of the hotel. Be warned, there is no double glazing and a bus stop directly outside (1st bus at 5.55am stops for 15 mins). Nice enough place but not £70 nice.

My Boyfriend lived at the Ship while his house was being built, and I often stayed with him. The food was amazing and they catered to all my dietary needs ( I can't eat meat or dairy). the entertainment was good with pool tables an d gaming Machines. It has a really friendly attitude and is run by the Strickett family. It is well worth a visit, or a night out dining.

Room Tip: The road is sometimes noisy.

Bar staff very friendly and welcoming. We chose the hotel to be close to family. We stayed for 4 days and only the first morning's breakfast was well cooked. On the 4th day, it resembled a burnt offering. None of the male kitchen staff appeared to have any idea about customer relations -no offer of extra tea/toast/butter etc., very cold reception overall. Once served our food, the staff disappeared and peered through the narrow window slot in the door until we left - very strange. The wooden bed frame was so creaky, the slightest move created an ear piercing noise. Not the relaxing break we expected. The hotel was handy for shops, buses and local shops, but not worth the cost.

I stayed for 1 night at The Ship in New Romney while away on business. I was made extremely welcome by all the staff on arrival and when leaving; to the point where they asked me not to leave as it was raining heavily and they didn't want me to get wet walking to the car! The food at both dinner and breakfast was excellent. Hot, tasty, freshly cooked and a proper portion at an extremely reasonable price. The room was very comfortable and clean with en suite facilities. And although the shower would benefit from more power, it wasn't unpleasant once it had warmed up.

Room Tip: I stayed in room 2 right at the top of the stairs. I expected it to be noisy but it wasn't overl...
