I spent the last weekend at the Last Resort, the first visit for five or six years. Back then the service was atrocious, so I was a bit hesitant. I needn't have worried: the new owners are trying really hard and appear to have made a big difference. Small issues were dealt with quickly and efficiently, the food was good and reasonably priced, and the (budget) room was fine.
The presence of lots of locals in the bar to watch the All Blacks beat Australia added to the experience.
