“Lovely spacious clean motel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 January 2013

Stayed here for 3 nights over New year.My wife was little unwell and we decided to cut short our stay by 1 night at short notice. The owner refused to charge us for the last night that we were supposed to stay and i would like to thank her very much for her generosity.Even apart from that,
the units are roomy and clean with lovely rural views.
Thanks
Ron and Doreen

When we chose to visit Karamea we were looking for an area in South Island where we could enjoy the countryside without too many people and traffic. Travelling through the beautiful countryside en route we were not disappointed - good but winding roads, fabulous scenery and few vehicles. On our arrival at the Motel we realised we had hit the jackpot and knew we couldn't have picked a better place to be. Our one bedroom accommodation had everything one could wish for - spacious, modern and spotless, with bathroom and kitchen facilities of a high standard. The scenic view from our lounge window was perfect. Despite quite a lot of rain over the weekend, that didn't deter us from thoroughly investigating the area, taking in a number of walks and taking many photos of the breathtaking forests, rivers and trails - we have attached a copy of the Mirror Lakes which were amazing. At the end of each day we experienced the local restaurants which are recommended, except the local pub where the food was over priced. Fabulous weekend and Motel highly recommended. Norma S

We stayed for a three-night winter get-away. These motels were a great spot for that. They're located out of town, but are an easy walk from the supermarket. The view across lush paddocks to mountains is beautiful, and the two contented cows just outside the window were good models of relaxation. Our unit caught plenty of sun, and it was spacious, clean and comfortable. The proprietors were friendly and helpful. This is our second visit and we'd return for a third. We noted that the motels are for sale.

My wife and I along with our son , stayed at the above mentioned Motel. This was a most enjoyable experience.
The rooms are large, well heated, and all amenities are of a Quality standard. While the rental was higher than some, the saying that you get what you pay for is borne out here.
Would recommend highly

This hotel offers you clean, comfortable, serene accommodation. Beautiful bay picture windows bring the tranquil farm landscape with mountain backdrop right into your room. It is a serene "get away from it all" location. The vistas are breathtaking! Hiking\tramping trails are easily accessed and the renown Heaphy tract is nearby. We rated this hotel "First Place" after a month of hotel stays in New Zealand.

As mentioned in the previous reviews, the various units are quite spacious, comfortable, have a patio which is fairly private and offer nice view of the mountain. The gardens, like the rest of the property, are meticulously maintained. It is a perfect place to relax in a rural setting (while being fairly close to the beach) or as a base for the many walks (short and long) offered in the region. Be aware that the property is offered for sale and that the management may change in the future

Very warm/friendly greeting which is always great. Our room was neat, tidy with all the amenities you'd expect. The location nice and was quiet - slept so well.. Although we had everything we needed, I got the feeling that our hosts would've gone out of their way to assist as/when needed. Wouldn't change a thing.
