My friend Elizabeth and I chose The Halfway House for our lunch catchup last Friday from other TripAdvisor comments, and I have to say, we weren’t disappointed! It’s such a cute little pub with a very welcoming interior and the food was seriously amazing- really top-notch pub food! Elizabeth had one of their gourmet burgers and I chose the winter veg and lentil stew which came with a roasted half of a butternut squash on top! 10/10- excellent choices. They also recommended a wonderful country walk from the pub for the afternoon which was wonderful! Thanks guys, love Zoë, Elizabeth and Millie the golden cocker (Ollie’s twin!) x

What a fantastic place! All the staff are friendly and welcoming, the food simply stunning!
We ate everyday here over the weekend and not once were we disappointed with the standard of service or food.
I think what I love most about this place, is the fact that EVERYONE is welcome. Families, children, dogs and cats!
If you want to be a bore and have no atmosphere, go to a place that is for adults only, if you want somewhere that is warm and happy; you won’t be disappointed here. Can’t wait to come back!

I visited here twice whilst working away, Tania the landlady & Tim the bartender were both very welcoming and great company. The food and beer were fantastic both times, Buddy and I will def be back in at the end of the month when we return to Gloucestershire

We couldn't be made to feel more welcome in the pub by the landlady (who is also the chef) and the bar staff. Our children (aged 5 & 7) were made to feel super special by looking through all of the drinks behind the bar before settling on their first ever pints from a pub (a small orange juice & lemonade - just served in a pint glass). The landlady then asked the children was their favourite food was (pizza and sausages) and then happily said she could prepare this for children (even though pizza wasn't even on the menu). Our food was simply beautiful - such great flavours and just perfect portion sizes. To top it all off the children even got free ice cream as we were staying at the local campsite. Also, the choice of cider was fab too. Such a lovely pub, amazing food and great service - we are just sad that we live 2 miles away from it, otherwise we would be there all the time.

We ate here twice while we were staying in a holiday cottage nearby and we couldn't have been more welcomed by the staff. We ate in many a pub on our month long trip around England (we're from America), but the Halfway House had the best food by far, especially the Sunday Roast and that apple infused red cabbage that was soooo very delicious. We recommend this lovely pub to anyone lucky enough to be in the area.
