We stayed at the Old Barn, Chathill in early July. We arrived to a very warm welcome from Heather, who put a pot of tea and fresh baked scones in front of us. Excellent breakfasts. The accommodation is immaculate; the shower room is splendid. The Old Barn is well located for trips to Lindisfarne, the Farne Islands, Northumberland National Park, and the Scottish Borders. Location is very quiet.
Despite the postal address of "Chathill", The Old Barn is several miles away. The sat-nav took us right there. The Old Barn is at Wandylaw, which is ½ mile to the WEST of the A1. About 8 miles north of Alnwick and a little after a short stretch of dual-carriageway, look for a sign to Wandylaw on your left (if going north). Turn left and follow the road, and you will come to the entrance to a complex of converted barns. Go through and follow the road round to the end. The Old Barn is in the far corner on your left. Easy parking in front of the Old Barn.
