4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 February 2014

This is a very nice hotel - rooms are excellent and service is absolutely first rate. The restaurant (if you're on half board) is also very good - with an interesting combination of modern and traditional local foods. Given all this, it's perhaps surprising that just a few small things let it down. The Wi-Fi is hopelessly slow and can't be reached from the rooms anyway. There isn't really a proper bar, although drinks are served in reception. At peak times though there aren't enough chairs available and the waiter is overwhelmed with orders. If only these few things could be fixed a coveted 5 star rating would be achieved!

Room Tip: Prestige rooms on the top floor are worth the extra for more room and can accommodate 3 if needed.

the hotel is expensive but it deserves the price. they are really friendly and the service is excellent. they parked our car and left our skis directly to the ski rental shop close to the ski lift. thus, we easily walked 5 min and then skiing. our room was at the top floor, lovely and charming. the bathroom was huge and perfectly cleaned. the restaurant is really good, the cook is excellent and highly professional. we will definitely come back.

Room Tip: the SPA is small

Went for a ski trip with friends. First of all Champoluc is a lovely little town with great skiing. Not busy and superb lift network. Food on piste is excellent and cheap. The Breithorn is just really well done all round. Decor is tasteful and traditional in rooms and communal areas. Staff are friendly and spa is OK. Restaurant was excellent. We were on half board for 3 nights and thought every meal was outstanding. Breakfast buffet was good enough. Good wine list as well. The food is quite haute cuisine, not standard ski fodder so that means portions are small. Not ideal for big eaters or kids.

Room Tip: Rooms at front have a little traffic noise which is only an issue since rooms can be a little warm a...

The building is not bad - especially the inside of the main lobby on the first floor (although on the 'tacky' side of alpine decor...). However, I found most of the hotel personnel - and in particular the daytime manager on duty at the end of december 2013 - very unpleasant and unhelpful. You feel like they are making you a favor to answer your questions - be it about parking a car, asking for help with your luggage or inquiring about the status of the ski slopes. Breakfast is also rather poor. With a different management could be a rather good hotel.

Stayed there for a weekend and was impressed overall. The hotel is comfortable enough and the staff were friendly and helpful. Although the hotel is situated just at the beginning of the village, they offer a free shuttle service on demand.

After reading the review from Del71London I was a little concerned about our end of season stay but we found the staff to be very friendly. Breakfast was comprehensive - they are more skilled at preparing a "continental" offering than an "english cooked" breakfast. We were in room 401 and found it spacious and comfortable, easily accomodating 3 of us. Our room was very warm so we opened windows every night and slept well but there seems to be a lot going on in Champoluc at 7am and we were often woken by deisel engines idling noisily outside. On the day we left we descovered this to be the hotel's own Land Rover which was parked inexplicably outside the hotel with the engine running? Despite this one critisism, we would happily stay in Champoluc again and would definately recommend the Breithorn.

Room Tip: Our top floor room was very warm. If you like a window open a room at the back would be quieter.
