Went after a walk round the castle having seen the ads on visitor maps. Bit 'pizza hut' feel to the place. As a shellfish lover -thought the Crab shack would be mecca! Expecting 'Crabby Jacks' (Guernsey) offering. Greatly disappointed with choice-no fresh crab (as seen on pics) or fruit de Mare platter. Portions small. Wouldn't recommend based on our visit.

After 2 lackluster meals trying out places near the beaches, I was ready to give up. We saw a Crab Shack advertisement via the Jersey Food Festival, and passed the Gorey location as we were parking to see the castle. It was a hit for the whole family - laid back atmosphere, lots of fun, and most importantly, great food! The food festival scallops were to die for, even though the scallops on offer were substituted due to changes in tides (you know it is fresh!!). I loved the crab tacos, and the crab salad was another big hit with the family. The kids so loved the kids menu, and we were happy with it too, as all was freshly battered and not fried from frozen. A big hit for all, we liked it so much we went to the St. Brelade location on another day, but all agree that Gorey was the best.

Fabulous food at a reasonable price. Wine list was good and very good value. Really great experience, loved it. Go there is you like seafood and a shacky but quirky environment. Amazing.

I went to Jersey with my partner and saw The Crab Shack advertised in the map and as a serious foodie, I wanted to give it a try.
After a long walk we reached the restaurant after 9pm to be informed that the kitchen was closed. So disappointed, so tired! I guess my face was read easily and the waiter asked the chef if there was any possibility to have a meal. He came back and informed us that unfortunately we could not have hot meal, but offered a cold meal instead. We went for it.
The fish platter was varied, fresh and was quite delightful indeed. Even the side salad was tasty and not some boring side leaves! The prawn cocktail was equally delicious with a perfectly ripe avocado you hardly ever find in London. The French wine was superb and quite affordable.
The simple and thematic atmosphere was appealing to the beautiful view of the castle. The service was outstanding. Overall, the Crab Shack is a great memory of my stay in Jersey.
