“Misunderstanding regarding booking”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2014

Just want to say how understanding the recepionist was when I realised that I had come on the wrong day. She was very nice as the hotel was fully booked but she arranged for us to stay in a Bed and Breakfast near by. The food was great too. Great place to stay for long or short period.

Overall, a brilliant stay. Superb value, good location, lovely hotel with nice lounge, bar and eating area. Staff very good, polite and attentive. Food was delicious. Breakfast was cooked to order from a very extensive menu. Quality of the food was excellent. Service very prompt. Bedroom was lovely, very large (with a double and a twin) with a flat screen tv, ample bathroom, looking out over a lovely green area away from the road. I would have given this an 5* 'excellent' except for a couple of minor faults. 1. One of my towels was very grimey and looked like it hadn't been washed (seemed to be blood and other bodily fluids on it (although the others were fine !) 2. There was a bit of a smell from the toilet and upon inspection (room 25) the under rim of the toilet was very dirty and needs a serious clean/bleaching. 3. As I stayed during the particularly hot July weather, air conditioning would have been a real joy (although the windows did open fully so was not a major problem). 4. There was a lack of service staff in the food lounge so service was quite slow and I had to chase for pepper, a spoon and then I was given a salt cellar instead of a pepper shaker. Staff lovely but overstretched in the restaurant. (that said the food was superb!) All in all, this is a gem of a hotel and I would highly recommend it to anyone staying in the Wexford area.

Room Tip: Ask for a room to the rear as it overlooks green areas and is away from road.

Needed a place to stay last minute in Wexford yesterday, and was offered two good rooms at reasonable price at The Farmer's Kitchen, which is a quite, pleasant and very convenient hostelry just a few minutes from Wexford town centre. Clean, bright rooms with tasteful décor, good showers, tea and coffee all in place, everything at the level of a top star hotel without the fuss of town-centre traffic and foyer noise. To boot, excellent food in the restaurant downstairs. Fresh and imaginative menu - even the breakfast had an impressive selection of dishes, including American Pancakes and scrambled eggs with smoked salmon! Would highly recommend it as a good place to stay without all the bustle and fuss of a big hotel.

Just finished a four night stay at this hotel and must say that we really enjoyed it. We could find no fault at all. The room was spacious with all the facilities you would expect in a hotel of a higher star rating
The restaurant was well designed. We had breakfast there each morning and ate there in the evenings, all meals were plentiful, well presented and very tasty.
The bar was cosy and had a good selection of beers and spirits.
Last but not least were the staff, all were a credit to the hotel, very friendly and welcoming.
I would have no hesitation in returning and staying there again.

Found the service to be poor. Had to go get our own menus after we took our seats. I ordered the beef sandwich, Wasn't sure what to expect but have to say i was very impressed. Good quality with loads of beef and a peppered sauce.

I stayed only for one night with my boyfriend. We got a deal online for one night, including dinner and a glass of wine. The room was spacious but could being updated. We also had a view of metal fire exit stairs. The bathroom was not the best. But, other than that it was grand for the night, and the dinner was delicious. There is a bar next to it. We went in for a few pints, the barman was very welcoming too.
All-in-all the only downfall was the room, other than that it was a great break!

Fantastic all round, Stay here reguarly through work, Staff are very welcoming and friendly, Food is great breakfast is top notch cooked fresh not re heated carvery like most top hotels, has a nice bar nice and relaxing with sports channels, Rooms are clean and cleaned daily as i stay here for days on end. Stay in lots of hotels through work and majority of them only clean rooms every two days also the wi fi is free and excellent strength in all rooms + its free most other hotels use a bitbuzz service which is terrible and a nusense and password protected and time limited. If your looking to stay near wexford town this hotel is where to stay for price and all of above, other hotels nearby that ive stayed in there foods terrible or the staff are rude and un welcoming. I finally settled for here because its a place thats comforting relaxing and welcoming the whole meaning of a hotel.
