“Superb B&B in the middle of the vineyards of Piemonte”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 September 2013 via mobile

Casa Isabella is beautifully located in the hills above Nizza Monferrato (4km) in the middle of the Piemontese vineyards. I had a bit of a hesitating feeling when we arrived at the countryhouse, but once you open the entrance door to the house, a cosy, brilliantly decorated world opens up for you.
We were surprised to be welcomed in our own language by Laura, the Flemish speaking summer intern who appeared to live only 5 kms away from where we live back home. Alessandro and Monica are fabulous hosts who will do whatever they can to make your stay un unforgettable one. Suggestions for nice restaurants, sightseeing tips, introductions to sellers of local products (wine houses, don't miss the Amaretti cookies shop in Mombaruzzo!), etc.
We stayed four days in the lovely Stella room. A large bedroom with a comfortable bed, a well-equipped bathroom, a convenient separate shower and a terrace. A bottle of wine, some Amaretti cookies and a fruit basket to welcome you.
What is so special about this B&B is the sublime interior decoration of the house. All rooms have been perfectly decorated by Monica, who is an architect. Every detail is just perfect, every colour well chosen, every piece of furniture seems having been made for this house.
The breakfasts are georgious with devine local products: great cheeses, lovely salume and honey made by the son of the house. One evening we dined in the B&B and Monica created a superb dining experience!
The B&B offers plenty of car parking space, a nice swimming pool and a petanque area.
This is a perfect place to stay if you're in Piemonte. Alessandro and Monica are synomime for divine hospitality. I will no doubt a second to return to this place when we're back in the beautiful region of Piemonte.

My husband and I, together with our 11 month old daughter, stayed at casa Isabella for our final two nights in Italy. I wish we could've stayed longer! It's a unique property where traditional meets contemporary and the attention to detail is evident around every corner.
We had the Rosso room which was very cool. It had a beautiful feature bath too which was pure luxury. Breakfasts were a high standard with a selection of jams, cheeses, breads and pastries together with a hot dish.

We had an evening meal there prepared by Monika which was fantastic.
Above all, the welcome our baby daughter received was phenomenal. Alessandro and Monika were so warm and gave her lots of attention which she loved!! We found this all over Italy..they so love children which makes traveling with children so much easier.

Thanks so much again to casa Isabella for a fantastic stay. We will return!

We stayed at Casa Isabella in May and should have done this review earlier. We have stayed in Italy many times, but this was by far the best place we have ever stayed at .From the moment we arrived Alessandro and Monica made us feel so welcome. The décor in the house is beautiful, so many personal touches and breakfast to die for, everything home made. If you get a chance to have an evening meal, Monica is the most fantastic cook. Turn down service in room and candles lit every evening. It is obvious that Monica and Alessandro enjoy guests and we cant wait to return.

Casa Isabella. What a perfect place. We planned to stay one night but couldn't bring ourselves to leave and stayed for 4. Monica and Alessandro are the most kind and generous hosts. We felt so looked after. The breakfasts are incredible, so delicious we ate enough to keep us full until dinner. Local cheeses, incredible Melata honey made by their son, stacks of pain perdu with just made strawberry compote. Monica is a brilliant cook. Alessandro has a vast knowledge of wine and the hills and villages around the area. They are quite a team. The house itself is beautiful, decorated with attention to detail in muted natural tones (Monica is a retired architect - it shows), which perfectly fit the country side around. Our room had a great balcony to sit and watch out over the fields. Every night we would return to our room with candles lit and look out onto the garden lit at night by big storm candles. The local towns while not on the Piedmonte tourist route are beautiful and the closest restaurant in the local town, a 10 min walk is very good. A perfect place to relax and take in Piedmonte.

Not a lot to fault about Casa Isabella. Alessandro and Monica are great hosts. The food is delightful as is the location of the Casa. A mere 5 minute walk into the local village and 7 mins drive to the nearest town (Nizza Monferrato) by car made restaurant choices easy for dinner and lunch. The room we had on the top floor was spacious, immaculately decorated and very clean. There are not too many details overlooked by the hosts in making your stay as comfortable as possible. Our only gripe would be the bath. Like many things Italian it looked great but was entirely impractical. Beautiful in design it was a battle to bath or shower in and made for an early morning challenge each day. That aside would we return ? Yes. Most definitely but probably choose a different room.

Even though our stay was short, it was very memorable! Everything was on the highest standards, the comfortable newly refurbished room, great breakfast of local specialities, aperitif with homemade snacks and the most delicious 4 course dinners that Monica was kind enough to make for us. We travelled with our 5 month old son and the hosts were more than flexible and accommodating when it came to special requests. Casa Isabella is a real hidden jem, and we would love to return in warmer months to experience the tranquility and beauty of the vines near the pool under the sun!

We extended our stay from 2 to 3 nights because Casa Isabella really exceeded our expectations. The place, the room, the food, the welcome were outsanding. Monica and Alessandro are blessed with fantastic taste coupled with a passion for hospitality. We felt really privileged to have had this experience of Piemonte.
