“Chateau nights a little bit of style”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 December 2011

We stayed 2 nights as part of tour of South France, near golf courses. Chateau very well restored, looks great, breakfast fime, food and wine for evening meal delicious - don't miss out on dining in!. Bedroom not like a hotel bedroom, but very stylish. Isabelle very good hostess. Situation fantastic in little quiet village off beaten track. But within striking distance of Carcassonne and its golf course (there is a castle / medieval city as well the other side of the hill from the golf course apparently.)

Room Tip: We styayed in the orangerie, outside the main chateau building, that good for complete privacy, and...

I can't say enough good things about this place. It's the prettiest hotel in the area (and we saw all of the competitors). The rooms were lovely and the service was impeccable. Mischa and Isabelle, the proprietors, have created the quintessential country chateau experience - and their personal attention to us made all the difference. It's also really convenient to Rennes le Chateau, Carcassone and other attractions in the Aude/Languedoc region. The region is stunning - some of the most beautiful landscapes I've ever seen. For those interested in the "mysteries" of the area (Cathar, DaVinci Code, Grail Legends, Templars, etc.), Mischa is the best guide you could find. I definitely plan on going back to this place the next time I'm in France

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chateau de Villereglan - a beautiful large house in a typical country village. As a base for touring around this lovely area you have everything you want here when you return at the end of the day to relax. The owners were extremely pleasant and welcoming and were very happy to advise us about trips and make any bookings. We slept in the Orangerie - a self contained mezzanine room in the garden with a quirky staircase upstairs to the bed - really nice, with a wrought iron table outside to sit and relax and have our welcome drink. We only had one evening meal which was very good and were able to sit outside for it in the lovely garden. I think one of the things I really liked was the peacefulness and the unobrusive but friendly, attentive manner of the owners. I would love to go back!

Mischa & Isabelle Harmeijer were wonderful hosts. The newly renovated castle is charming and beautiful. Breakfast and the COFFEE were great!

They prepared the most delicious dinner for us and served it with various regional wines. Had a wonderful time with our hosts. They gave us lots of information about the area. It was refreshing to go to a more rural, yet beautiful part of France.

We stayed at the Chateu de Villereglan in 2006 and we liked it so much, we decided to return. Mischa and Isabella - the owners of Villereglan - suggested we'd take the Castles tour, and we were very happy we did.
We started at Villereglan and stayed, travelling north, at the Chateau Talaud (Provence)and the Chateau de Savilly in Burgundy. All castles are different and it is almost impossible to make a comparison; every chateau offers a unique experience. A few things they have in common, however: an incredible location, great service and beautiful surroundings. Also, it is no problem to travel from one location to another within half a day.
We came home rested and energized after two weeks.

The welcoming was outstanding. The Chateau in general and our room in particular, were decorated verry tastefull. Unique in its kind. The personal service of the hotel owners Mischa & Isabelle Harmeijer is friendly and helpfull. The breakfast is very rich and good. On the special nights when dinner is served, this was really excellent and the wines accompanied the food very well.

The erea surrounding the Chateau is beautifull. Especially the medieval castle of Carcassonne is worthwhile visiting. As well as the small villages of the Langedoc.

Chateau de Villelegran is a lovely place. The castle-like mansion has been perfectly renovated into modern comfort while keeping the special atmosphere form its original state. The hosts/owners are very friendly & doing a splendid job, quality of the service is high and the food & wines are excellent. The premises of the chateau make it a very relaxing place, which is located in a wonderful rural environment of the typical style of southern France close to the Pyrenees, and more specifically the Cathar country.
Highly recommended!
