“Great place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 July 2013

We just came home from spending a week at the Fisherboy RV site in the Sayward valley. It is a really nice place. We stayed there last year for 3 days and liked it so much we came back for a week this year. The site has 6 cabins, some RV sites with full hook ups and some sites with only water and electricity. The sites are very spacious and well looked after with fire pits at each site as well as picnic tables. The bath rooms are immaculate.
While we were there we decided to take a run up to Port McNiell way and check out some of the other RV sites and in my opinion the Fisherboy is by far the best.
The only thing I would caution people about is to make sure you pick up enough groceries before heading up there because Sayward has no grocery store. The Fisherboy has a store that does stock a lot of basics as well as liquor and wine.

My husband and I camped here on a road trip up the island. The owners were awesome, suggested many activities for us as well as giving us a great site for our tent. They were very friendly.
The facilities were very clean, and the rec room was great for when our tent got a little soggy from the rain!

I recently took my duaghters on a hunting trip to Sayward and stayed in one of their cabins. The place was super clean and very well kept and pet friendly! The owner was very freindly and assisted in making our stay a comfortable one. He let me hang my animal in his barn and helped me prepare it for transportation. The staff were very helpful and very welcoming. Will bring my Holiday Trailer up next summer and do some sight seeing and some fishing in the local waters. Thanks Terry for the great stay!

Our family of 4 stayed here in September 2012. We had been whale watching in Telegraph Cove during the afternoon and was late arriving - we had called to say we would be late checking in and was told happily that that was no problem just knock on the door when we arrived. We did this and was greeted by a very friendly lady with a lovely smile even though it was 9pm!! She couldnt have been nicer to us and made sure we had everything we needed. We had a cabin with a kitchenette which was warm and very very clean. It was a huge room with 2 double beds. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was really well equipped. Unfortunately we left early the next day so didnt get time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
We all thought it was good value and a great place to stay after whale watching up north on our way back to the south of the island. It was very quiet and well maintained.

I recently took a motorcycle trip with 9 others to Port Hardy and stayed at the Fisherboy Park. We found it most accommodating with rooms, cabins and campsites, all of which our group took advantage of. The owners were very gracious and attended to our every need. Rooms were clean, grounds were very well kept and the carvings were everywhere so there was something to look at in every direction. Last year our trip was rained out and they were so understanding and welcomed our reservations again. A tidy well stocked store provides you with everything you need for a great stay, whether indoors or out. Not only would I recommend this to anyone traveling in the area, but will me making reservations for our trip again next year.. They even offered us free long distance calling.
Thank you for a great experience.

We stayed at Fisherboy, Sayward for 3 nights when we were fishing and found the facilities to be very clean and comfortable. We stayed in a unit that had a kitchenette and it was fully stocked with pots, plates and cutlery. The unit was cleaned each day.
We had problems with a wheel bearing on our boat trailer about 40 km from the motel and made it there at a reduced speed.
Terry, the owner, is very experienced with vehicle repairs and we picked up the parts and he repaired the wheel. Fantastic service.
Would recommend this accommodation which has a stocked grocery store and liquor store on site. Pub next door

Room Tip: There are 6 cabins so ask for one with cooking facilities.

We stayed for 2 nights in one of the cabins. Very clean, well-kept facility. Very enchanting with numerous wood carvings throughout the park, and nice gardens. We were treated to a car show with entertainment, quite by surprise. We would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Some cabins have full kitchens, some only a microwave and fridge, so be sure which one you are booki...
