We had booked our stay with the previous owners, based on the reviews on here, and were a little worried by the news that the B&B had changed hands, and we would be staying with the new owners in their first few weeks of ownership.
We needn't have worried - the new owners, Steve and Gill, are B&B naturals, who understand good service, great cooking and how to ensure their guests have a great time, which we did.
The house, of course, is as it was before the ownership change, which means that the rooms are very nicely appointed, set in a beautiful garden.
For those who haven't been, it is set in a gorgeous village, which is quiet and charming, yet close to a multitude of Cornwall's finest attractions.

Well everyone, Andy and Helen have sold up and moved on, arrrrhhh you may think. We did having stayed with them several times in the last few years.
Don't be so hasty, my husband and I stayed with the new owners at the end of August (2013). What a truly fantastic couple, Stephen and Jill are. They made us feel so welcome at a very stressful time this must have been for them just moving home and starting a new business.
Moorland house is still warm and welcoming, fresh eggs every morning from the magnificent chickens cooked by Stephen and Gill to make to best breakfasts to start the day.
Home made flapjacks and excellent knowledge of the area are just scratching the surface, being our seventh visit to Cornwall we thought we were struggling for new things to do...... not a chance Stephen and Jill were there to recommend new days out and restaurants to eat at.
I still can't recommend this bed and breakfast enough, Stephen and Gill really made us feel that we were welcome into their home. A special couple for a location that still remains a little gem.

My husband and I are Canadians and we stayed at Moorland House for 2 nights at the end of May 2013. Helen gave us a warm and friendly welcome when we arrived and Andy was a perfect host. The full English breakfast was delicious and Andy's timing for serving the various courses was perfect. I also really liked that in addition to the traditional cooked breakfast, there was fresh fruit and yoghurt, a choice of cereals, granola and muesli. Helen made the muesli herself and it was great. The produce is local and/or homegrown where possible.

The rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable and very tastefully decorated. The breakfast/sitting area is relaxing and pleasant with lovely views of the beautiful and tranquil garden.

I can honestly say that there was nothing that we could fault this B&B on - a perfect 10 from us. Thank you H and Andy for the wonderful stay.

I stayed at Moorland House with two friends from July 12th - 14th. It was everything a good B&B should be, and more. The rooms were clean and beautifully decorated. Everything was done with care. The breakfasts were more like you would expect from a good restaurant. Andy and Helen were the perfect hosts - friendly, helpful, discreet, and always there when we needed something. The home made flapjacks on arrival were much appreciated! Also, the garden is fabulous and very well cared for. I've stayed in many B&B's and this is one of the best.

Andy and Helen run a lovely warm and friendly B&B with a very pretty well kept garden the bedrooms are cosy comfortable and clean and arriving over the little river by the post office is a real adventure ! a very warm welcome at the front door was very encouraging and inviting ! There are also little finishing touches like little flapjacks and fresh pretty flowers picked straight from their garden ! Thank you so much Andy and Helen we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we wish you luck with the B&B in the future thank you !

Thank you Andy and Helen for a most enjoyable 5 night stay.
We arrived late Friday evening to be greeted by Andy, shown to our lovely room
with the added bonus of under floor heating.
Helen your daily supply of home made flapjacks were greatly received, as you could
tell by the empty container everyday.
The attention to detail in the rooms and dining area - the soft music playing quietly in the
background whilst enjoying a great breakfast, and the fish swimming around in the under
floor fish tank sooooo relaxing.
We agree with everything previously written (except the stronger coffee comment).
Anybody looking for a fantastic B & B need look no further.
We will be back.
Thank you both once again

I stayed at this lovely B&B with my boyfriend for two nights at the end of Septemebr.

We had both had a long and stressful week and on arriving at Moorland House (late!) in Friday night, were warmly welcomed and very much made to feel at home.

The room (downstairs) was spotless, beautifully rpesented and full of lovely modern gadgets - such as underfloor heating, sensored lighting etc.

Fresh milk and home made flap jacks were provided daily, and the room was cleaned and freshened each day - new towels etc.

Our room had a little DVD player and a selection of films, and Andy recommended a great walk to Watergate Bay for us.

We were eating at 15 on the Saturday evening and without being asked Andy arranged a local taxi frim to pick us up and bring us back which was fantastic.

Breakfast was wonderful and the setting was beautiful.

Andy was an attentive but not pushy host - always around if you needed him but without being intrusive.

The only slightly negative comment I would make is that if you sleep downstairs, the room leads on to the conservatory where breakfast is served. As a positive - this means you have beautiful views of the gardens, but if you are a late sleeper, you coudl get woken by other guests having their breakfast. However, this didnt make the stay any less enjoyable, and I think we only noticed it as we are more used to stying in hotels than B&B's. If you think this could bother you - request the upstairs room.

Overall this place over exceeded my expectations for value, hospitality and location and without hesitaition I would recommend to friends and family.
