Have stayed at the mill a couple of times now, once with my daughter, and once with the entire family. The first time we stayed there for a music festival, chill at the mill, and even with the music, i have never been anywhere this relaxing. the setting is amazing. While the facilities are basic, you have everything you need for an enjoyable stay, and wilf just completes that, nothing seems to be too much trouble for him.
The second time we went back, i tool the entire family. no festival this time, just peace and quiet. kids loved running around, seeing the animals, and wilf was once again a big hit with them.
Will be staying here again any time i camp in cornwall.

Just got back from the most amazing stay at Retorrick Mill. Nothing more to say than Wilf the owner is a legend. He's created an amazing relaxed, Cornish, bohemian spirited farm with accommodation. Really reasonable for camping, and self catering options like i stayed in were spot on for what we needed. Good parking. Amazing quirky bar in a stable. Great base from which to explore Mawgan Porth and other local delights. Don't miss the walk from Mawgan Porth round the cliffs to Bedruthan Steps. Breathtaking!

This place gets better every time we go... Started off visiting as a couple and have since taken extended family... it's got something for everyone!
There are different options for accommodation, cottages and chalets to camping - we've always stayed in the chalets.
The chalets are basic, but clean and have all the facilities you need. The kitchen is great and has plates, cutlery, pots and pans etc so there's no need to bring anything really.

Wilf, the host is great... A real treasure, and epitomises the charm and laid back vibe of the place!!

The grounds get better and more accessible with each visit as Wilf's projects progress... The pond and stream are charming, and attracts quite incredible wildlife, badgers, foxes etc are regulars!

The highlight for us is always the atmospheric home-made bar!! there's often fantastic live local bands and the bonfire going ensures a toastie warm evening all year round... however, if you want a quiet break, you cant hear any noise from the bar when you're in the chalets!!

Bring a torch as it gets really dark - which also means the stars are awesome!! This place really is a little gem!!

The accommodation is self catering, but Wilf is happy to provide take-away menus that will deliver from Newquay if you don't fancy venturing out or have had one too many at the bar!!

It's location is within a gorgeous walk of Mawgan Porth beach, and a stone's throw from beautiful Bedrutin Steps and Watergate Bay.

We tend to go out-of-season for the best all-round experience!

Room Tip: The chalets are numbered 1 to 6 with six being closest to the bar, one furthest away... Take your pick!!

I have been a couple of times and it has been great on every occasion.

I stayed in one of the chalets. There were 2 bedrooms (one double and one twin) and a sofa bed in the living room. There was also good kitchen facilities. It was very clean and comfortable. It was also remarkably good value for money.

There is a bar on the site (though far

The owner took a very relaxed approach. It was incredibly easy to book, he was very flexible and even let us stay in our chalet until late afternoon on the day of departure.

I cannot recommend this place enough. I have stayed at a number of different campsites and none compare.

This place is lovely. Its in the middle of nowhere, yet 15 mins walk to the sea / village and 15 mins drive into Newquay - should you fancy a bit of madness! You can camp, stay in a chalet or in a wonderful farm house or cottage. We stayed in a chalet which had everything you needed, and even though it was new year they were lovely and warm. Wilf (Chris) the owner is the most welcoming person ever. He runs his own bar which is perfect for friends and getting to know the others staying on the site. If you want to get away from it all this place is a little piece of heaven for a relaxing weekend. However remember you are in the country side, so don't forget your wellies with the British weather.

Room Tip: Save up your empty egg boxes to take with you for the owner, and you might get half a dozen lovely fresh free range eggs.
