Thsi place is truly an art deco gem. A house party atmosphere rules and the genial hosts are very helpful with restaurants (including driving you to the restaurant in the next village), maps, leaflets and general good advice. Very well located for the most impressive (and moving) of the First World War monuments. Cannot fault.

What an absolutely fantastic experience!! The hosts, Miguel and Ian, made our stay an absolute joy on our first visit to France and the area. The accomodation is unbelievably unique and immaculate in every
way, words and photos would not do justice to this amazing house and grounds. My wife and I where amazed at the decor and layout of the house, the hosts could not be faulted in any way with nothing being too much trouble and a willingness to help in any way they could. Will we be stopping there again .................................you
had better believe it!!!!!

After travelling across several countries in Europe as part of an academic research project we ended up at Miguel and Ian's superb B&B in Corbie, France. It was a perfect end to our travels. Behind the large white door in Place de Republique lies a world of Art Deco luxury. Our hosts met us with glasses of wine and beer, plates of nibbles and a warm welcome into their B&B.

Our room was beautifully appointed and large with an even larger en suite bathroom. Attention to detail is part of the package in this little piece of French paradise. We felt transported back to an era of Orient Express travel and half expected to see Hercules Poirot himself appear in the garden!

Each day we set out to explore the various battle sites and cemetery memorials in the Somme and returned to the same warm welcome. Drinks
on the terrace, suggestions for dining out and even a lift to the town of Bonnay from Miguel on our last night (the restaurant owners drove us back).

Both hosts are knowledgeable about the area having spent years holidaying there before opening Le Macassar.

We were able to do our laundry in their machine and keep our picnic supplies in their fridge. Breakfasts cater for all tastes from simple
continental to the full works, and include juice, real tea and quality coffee. On Sunday nights when all the eateries in the town are closed they provide dinner which unfortunately we missed as we departed on Sunday morning.

I cannot think of any where else I have ever stayed that was this perfect. Make sure you visit Le Macassar before you die - it was sublime.

My husband and i stayed at Le Macassar in April this year and i must say it was one of the best short trips we have ever had.
Le Macassar is a beautiful home and i call it a home as Ian and Miguel the owners make you feel so relaxed it feels like home.
They are wonderful hosts and made our stay thoroughly enjoyable. The breakfasts were delicious , try Miguels scrambled eggs and smoked salmon ! After seeing the Somme sights it was a pleasure to return in the afternoon and enjoy drinks and a chat with other guests and ofcourse Ian and Miguel.
We highly recommend staying at Le Macassar if you like quality, comfort and attention to detail.

One of our favorite B&B's on a recent trip through France. Guests may wonder if they are in the right place, when they see the entrance/garage door. However, you'll find a marvelous accommodation once you step inside. Your hosts Ian and Miguel are most welcoming, as is, Spats the loveable house dog. The rooms are very spacious, quiet, and beautiful. Don't miss the impressive billards room. The home is full of lovely art deco furnishings. Enjoy the great breakfast! It's rare to be offered hot dishes like bacon and eggs, in addition to traditional French breads in the morning. The location is just minutes from Amiens and its world renowned cathedral. Our only regret was staying just one night.

Great hospitality, beautiful rooms in a building that looks nothing from the outside. The hosts are very friendly, the breakfast is excellent, even the dog ,Spats, is hospitable.
There may only be 5 rooms, (6 rooms soon), but the Art deco/nouveau decor makes up for the anonymous exterior.
Ian and Miguel look after the guests and the whole building with great care. Amazing Billiards room completes the whole atmosphere.

I have spent the last four years travelling to Amiens each month on business, alternating through what must be one of the dreariest choices of hotels in the country. Last night I experienced luxury!

Le Macassar in Corbie is a wonderful find. Behind an unassuming set of gates lies paradise and a wonderful welcome. Miguel and Ian made me feel totally at home and the stresses of work melted away the moment I stepped through the door. They have an amazing ability to make it feel as though you are spending time with old friends even though you have only just met.

There is a wealth of knowledge about the surrounding area and places to visit if you have the good fortune to be visiting for pleasure. The rooms are a million miles away from the drab interiors of my usual accommodation – mine was huge with every attention to detail covered. I will certainly be returning to Le Macassar at the earliest opportunity and I hope to be able to spend a relaxing holiday here to fully appreciate all that they do
