The villa is a lovely place, stylish and well maintained, with fantastic panoramic view. Stefanos is an efficient and hospitable host. He provided us with lots of useful tips at check-in and rushed in promptly during our stay to clear the consequences of a heavy rain that occurs in Crete once in a lifetime. As for sightseeing, don't miss a chance to take a ferry from Sfakia to Loutro and pass by Frangokastello on return.
If youare looking for peacefull, relax and chill place, this is THE place !
very nice house, well equiped, nice pool & bbq and beautiful view on sea and mountain.
We were very pleased to stay for a week at Stefanos' lovely house. Of all the places we have rented, this is the place with the most character and soul. He has furnished the house with love and care, with beautiful decoration and comfortable beds. We rested very well and enjoyed our stay to the fullest. Thank you!
We had a blissful holiday at Villa Katerina, the best holiday we’ve had in years.
It was truly relaxing in a stunning and peaceful location whilst being less than a five minute drive from the shops, tavernas and beaches of Georgioupoli. Truly the best of both worlds.
The villa has uninterrupted easterly views of the coast at Georgioupoli and the easterly mountain range, from the BBQ dining area and the far end of the pool terrace. There are stunning views of the mountains and countryside to the south, particularly from the double bedroom. The villa next door does not block the view at all, as you may think, and the villas have been constructed in such a way as to not intrude on each other at all. We had total privacy, which we value a great deal.
Villa Katerina is beautiful inside and out. It has bags of character and rustic charm with a delightful personal touch and a hint of luxury thrown in where it counts – a sumptuously comfortable 6ft bed with high quality pillows and bed linen. It is furnished with gorgeous and quirky solid wood furniture (like the coffee table converted from an old monastery door!). The kitchen is as far from uber modern as you can get (NB it doesn’t have a dishwasher) but it ties in with the character of the villa beautifully and it does have a brand new washing machine! We felt very at home and truly comfortable here and although our stay was at the end of the season, the villa was so cosy and inviting that we didn’t feel chilly at all in the early mornings or late evenings as we have in other villas.
We were very grateful for the groceries supplied – bread, butter, milk, eggs, biscuits etc. especially as we arrived late. Also we greatly appreciated the provision of the cleaning products and laundry liquid which I think is essential. The last villa we stayed at in May of this year in Kokkino Chorio provided none of that and we ended up having to buy it all which cost a small fortune, only to leave it all behind!
Although we went prepared for a little inclement weather (we took rain jackets), the weather was fantastic the whole seven days – between 21 and 23 degs C with blue skies and sunshine, with one day on the beach down at Kalivaki reaching 25, in October!
The provision of beach towels would be a great addition to what is on offer at this villa, as would the provision of some fleecy blankets for sitting outside stargazing on chilly evenings. The bedroom blankets are far too nice to use in the garden.
A superb holiday. Many thanks to the Chatzidakis family.
I chose this villa because of the views and it didnt disappoint. Unfortunately we were unlucky to have several rainy days when views disappeared! On other hand as we couldnt go out for one whole day, we were so pleased to be in such a lovely house where it was easy to relax and be comfortable.
The house is beautifully bulit with lots of stone and a stunning arch between sitting area and kitchen.
It is a wonderully quiet and peaceful location, yet easy to reach and the town og Georgopolis is a short drive away.
Stefanos provides several recommendations for traditional tavernas and we tried most of them and they were all good
Absolutely perfect house, designed and built with great care and attention - cool stone, wooden beams, antique furniture etc.. Charming, clean and very comfortable. Perfect location on the mountain overlooking the sea. Lovely pool. Feels remote yet only a few kilometres from Giorgioupoli. Nothing to disturb a good night's sleep except the odd goat bell and cicadas in the trees. Great welcome from Stefanos with generous supplies - wine, fresh fruit, oil, bread, pasta etc.. Highly recommended. If you're wondering about the difference between Katerina and Chryssa - Katerina is the first of two villas - therefore Chryssa has totally unobstructed views of the sea. That said - the views from Katerina are also glorious. The garden in Katerina is also bigger than Chryssa with a beautiful outside barbecue/dining area to the rear. Both villas are identical and do not impose on each other in anyway. Hoping to book again for 2018.
We had a wonderful week at the villa. It was the perfect place for us, up the hill, peaceful, quiet, private! It was all in perfect condition, clean, complete! We found a nice welcome pack at our arrival at the villa; bread, feta, fruits, vegetables, water, wine, juice.... cool! Stefanos is a perfect host, he communicates brilliantly and quickly when needed and met us as arranged after following very precise directions! The villa is a 5 minute drive (or 40 minute walk) from the local town full of tavernas and a lovely beach. We were very happy with our week and wouldn't hesitate to use again. Thanks Stefanos!
