food - excellent, entertainment- brilliant, clean- very, staff- so friendly, weather- fab, water sports brilliant, trips - excellent
we had such a great time there is only a couple of things that bothered me one is some of the rooms dont have air con but apparently that is being done @ the end of the season but we managed ok &it didnt spoil our holiday & we were told when we booked it .( we should have booked earlier)
the other thing is that the staff put so much effort in to making your holiday great but the management always look miserable they should lead by example
neither of these caused us any problems on holiday we still had such an EXCELLENT TIME

Room Tip: book early as hotel very popular

We have just returned from a week all inclusive at this hotel and had a brilliant time! Accomodation was good, we stayed in a two bed bungalow in the lovely grounds which had a great sea view. Very spacious and with much needed air conditioning which I would highly recommend. The only down side was the shower cubicle as it was really small and difficult to shower in.
Food was good, lots of choice for our two children and the restaurant was always clean with polite, helpful staff, although we did have to queue every time but it is a large hotel so that's expected.
Beach was lovely; however we did have to pay for sun loungers each day, but well worth it.
Lots to do for the kids, ours are 16 and 8 and both were kept entertained and amused both in the day with organised events such as water polo, beach volley ball, water slides, which we had to pay for each day, kids clubs etc, and the evening entertainment was different each night. Many water sports are also available on the beach which were reasonably priced.
All inclusive was exactly as we expected. Cakes etc at certain times, ice-creams all day, all soft drinks, beers and spirits all day, no different to anywhere else we have stayed previously.
Overall we had a fantastic holiday and would most definatly go back next year.

Room Tip: Be sure to get a room with air conditioning!

OK let me try and give a totally honest review. Read read and read again your holiday details as at this hotel All Inclusive doesn't mean All Inclusive! Air Conditioning, hair dryer whiskey - NOT included!
I am a big believer that your holiday is what you make it - the hotel was basic the food was either very nice or really horrid - lunch is highly recommended but the evening meal choice was poor. We ate out most nights - Maxims Tavern is HIGHLY recommended - very reasonably priced and the food is amazing!! Yes this hotel is geared totally for the French but it doesn't mean that there is nothing for everyone else. Yes some of the staff seem rude but I found that if you smile and say good morning etc they do respond - lets face it some Europeans have no sense of humour (lol)
Overall I would say that this place has lots of potential and I understand that the owner is investing and renovating the hotel but ultimately YOU are responsible for your own enjoyment - you've paid for your holiday make it work for you!

We went to Messonghi Beach Resort, Corfu, in July 2012 for 2 weeks. It would be fair to say that there were many positive aspects, and many negative points to this resort. This is a BIG hotel that easily caters for 2,000 people. So let's start with the good:

The food - we were a party of 6, and am pleased to say that there was something to eat at each and every meal. We all go on holiday and enjoy eating local foods, and the salads were always fresh. For the less adventurous there is pasta and chips, but if you only eat this, don't go abroad.

Pools - the pools are nice and, if you're up early, you can get beds and an umbrella. One of our party was up at 6am but we managed to get beds. The beds were cleared of any towels left over night, and we didn't mind the early start, to ensure beds.

AI - there was a good selection of drink: vodka, Gin, Brandy, Beer, Wine and filter coffee. The soft drinks are from squirty things so they can be a little syrupy.

Now for some negatives:

The rooms - PAY FOR AN UPGRADE BEFORE YOU GO! We were told that the rooms would have a fan in, they don't. They get warm!! I spent 5 nights on the balcony on a li-lo! They rent room fans for €6 a night, but didn't have enough. We ended up buying one from a supermarket near by foe €20 and got the money back from the hotel when we left. The manager did say they wre going to add A/C to the rooms this winter, but not before! Very HOT!!

Guests - we are not doing AI again! The majority of the guests were French, German and Eastern Euopean. I have nothing against any of them, but none know how to queue at meals, or at the bar! We ended going out for food and drinks a couple of nights so we could be served food!

What else we did: We arranged horse riding one day with Trail Riders. We also walked out the hotel and visited the Budget Travel for a boat trip to the Blue Lagoon. Was a great day out and it picks up and drops off by boat from the hotel! There are some nice bars! As you come out the hotel and go right, the second cafe is run by a Greek and mancunian. Great breakfast and nice food and drinks. Further down on the right, just passed the Budget Travel is La Nuit... Cocktails and eye candy for the girls and gays! Great cocktails!!! Bit further up and across the road, down a wee alley is the Rose Garden! Amazing food and meze!! Not badly priced! Same side further up is the supermarket we got our fan from.

All in we had a nice holiday. Especially after we bought the room fan! We had to escape a couple of evenings to escape the horrendous 'animation'. But for wa we paid, we weren't expecting much more than we got! It would be fair to say it was all the holiday we made it, and we won't be going back!
