We've been first time in Sea Bird ... oh, maybe 12 years ago, and always liked it. But it seems that eventually everyone has to write a review.
This hotel is a good approximation to what many people wish when they imagine their future home -- "in the primeval forest, at main street of big city, with view to sea".
The Sea Bird is located in "downtown" of Moraitika, a very nice village in southern Corfu. The beach is about 200 meters away, as is supermarket. To the center of Moraitika is about 500 meters.
The Sea Bird is a regular hotel -- you get room cleaning and fresh linens-towels every day, also breakfast and (if you wish) dinner. (We prefer to eat outside not because the food quality but because of diversity).
On the other side, it feels like family-operated BnB -- so convenient and cosy.
The rooms are, of course, not worth 5 stars, but have all necessary items. Including AC, which we find absolutely unnecessary -- after all, you come to Greece for warmth, not for air-conditioned chill.
The hotel also has a small garden and a swimming pool.
This summer, we had trouble -- we reserved acommodation in Barbayannis Studios, but nobody was receiving us when we arrived short before midnight. Then Sea Bird helped us finding a room. Thank you, Alex!

Room Tip: I would choose a room with view to Moraitika (and with evening sun)

The hotel was clean and friendly and less than a 2 minute walk to the beach. The food was very acceptable for the price we paid for half board. There is a great entertainment bar 2 minutes away too The Golden Beach, which has live entertainment most evenings and very friendly attentive staff

We have just returned from a week at the seabird,we have never felt so welcome at a hotel. The only issue we had was that we didn't book two weeks!!! All of the staff have been amazing, the room was immaculate and the food was excellent. Our first time to corfu but definitely not our last. We arrived and was greeted by the owners son, he gave us all the information we needed, our daughter was desperate for the Wi-Fi password, and although the best service was in the main public areas, it wasn't an issue, you don't go on holiday to spend it on your phone our daughter has autism and I can't praise all the staff enough for our time spent there. Especially the man in the restaurant (we didn't get his name, but there's only one!) he took the time to talk her through the food and really does a fantastic job caring for the guests. Our daughter spent a lot of the time in the room and she made friends with our lovely lady who took care of our room, cleaned daily, fresh sheets and clean towels. We regularly flooded the bathroom (OK so the shower is a bit small, but does the job!) but the room was lovely. We had the doors open every night and we recommend that you get mosquito plugins. But they do have air-conditioning available for a small charge, but as we stayed in May chose not to as it was pleasantly warm. Its the start of the season in May so temperatures were between 22-27 in the day, pleased we took warmer clothes for the evenings
We wanted a traditional family run hotel and we had that and so much more. We felt welcome out and about also. As it was the start of the season, shops and restaurants were just opening up. All very welcoming and friendly. A very short walk away were supermarkets selling all that we needed, plus the usual holiday trinkets. Lots of places to eat or just to grab a drink (lunch if needed, plus the hotel serves snacks
in the day) We didn't have to leave the local area and the locals appreciate the business. The beach is a 2min walk from the hotel, its perfect for children and non swimmers. We took a boat trip to the blue lagoon on the pegasus, booked up in the town for 25€ and is a must! (again they were fantastic with our daughter, helping her on and off the boat, it was also more family orientated and peaceful. The crew were very nice, not forcing anyone to party!) the bonus of the pegasus is, it pulls right up to the beach, so you can walk off into the sea, a big plus for us, the bbq provided was delicious We also visited old
corfu Town, loads of shops and
traditional sandals hand made are a very good buy! But we really could of stayed local and enjoyed the retail therapy. We are already looking for next May, but will definitely be booking two weeks. If you are looking for a quiet, family holiday we highly recommend Thank you for your hospitality seabird and see you next year x oh and we can't forget the hotel cat she loves the sausages!
