Just come back from two sun kissed weeks.
First ever posting on Trip Advisor however have been to many Holiday Villages.
Q-why do people who have clearly travelled before expect the standards of the Ritz , food quality of Michelin Star Restaurant and all for a bargain basement price....... Oh yes and middle of an economic meltdown!!!!

Food- absolutely fine. If you stay for two weeks going to same restaurant every night, guess what it will start to look the same. Try going to your local restaurant every night for a week/ two weeks see what happens! I have two hungry children ( 14&10) and they scoffed the lot. Me and the missus were also not starved.

It is an idea to book the Italian to mix it up a bit.

Rooms - we were overlooking main pool and a bit worried beforehand about size of rooms. Two kids as I said and there was plenty of room and lots of room for clothes. We initially wanted 1 bed apartment however it is not needed based on the size and space of standard room.

Air con - worked solidly for two whole weeks ....!

Animation team- SUPERB. Rio is really funny, Willy was fabulous and multi talented and the whole team worked very hard to make the stay enjoyable.

Sun beds- if you want one in a specific spot get up and bag it.... Simple and largely no different to anywhere else.

Cleanliness - the girls worked tirelessly round the clock and the place was clean.

All in all we would go back and if your slithering relax it will be fine.

We have just returned from a week at this hotel. I had read the reviews and booked through Cosmos with Tesco vouchers as a 'price beater deal' so my expectations weren't high. We stayed in room 539 also and I mostly agree with everything a previous review has said.
We only have experience of one previous 'all inclusive' hotel so don't have much to compare the standards with? But - Wine was awful and all other drinks just tasted a bit 'artificial'? Food was ok but queuing was a bit of a pain. Just generally felt that services weren't freely available and you had to work hard/be organised for some food/drink in a nice setting? Staff worked hard but there weren't enough of them?
We went Pefkos one night to Corallis restaurant on the recommendation of our rep. It was a 20 euro taxi ride. Nice to get out and see something different as the atmosphere could get a bit much in the canteen restaurant . Nice change, great value and authentic Greek food. Interestingly the waitress there told us that the same guy owns about 10 hotels in Kiotari and surrounding area - all different standards, so he should know what needs upgrading?
Never bothered with the bottom pool or the entertainment (too far away in the amphitheatre and not comfortable)- kids are now 10 and 12 and they were happy in the quieter top pool - although if we had stayed longer we might have needed the change of tempo?
Our big recommendation is to charter the yacht from the watersports place on the beach! It was 360 euros for our family to hire the yacht for a whole day with a skipper and assistant. All drinks and lunch included. Saw a bit more of Rhodes, swam to isolated beaches, snorkelled and dinghied back. Learned a bit about a sailing holiday and are definitely doing it next year! Fantastic experience!
Overall we just enjoyed the sun so didn't mind too much on what was lacking at the hotel as we hadn't paid a fortune but I guess if you had paid top whack and were expecting 5 star then you would be disappointed?!

We had a very relaxing 6 nights at this hotel, should have been 7 nights but they had overbooked the hotel not just for us but for 5 other families, this obviously was our rocky start!
The animation team were brilliant! Particularly Rio with his kindness and brilliant humour and very entertaining games,Willy for his great water aerobics, Magda for her daily exercises and Abbie for her patience with the youngsters. Along with this the evening entertainment with rest of the team was excellent!
Food was good and much as you would expect it when catering for the masses!
Staff were friendly and mostly helpful.

We have just returned from our 2 week stay at this hotel. We arrived at the hotel at 7.00am (after a long coach trip) and were shown to our room which overlooked the lower pool area. Our room was clean but basic and very dated - definitely not a 5 star room. As 4 (2 adults 2 kids) of us were sharing the room - there is not a lot of space for clothes etc. The bathroom was ok but again never 5 star. Our balcony overlooked the lower pool area so every morning i could see the sunbed/towel saga unfolding. Most people did get up around 7.30 am to reserve their sun beds - but we could usually find a sunbed if we hadn't reserved one. There are 2 other pools here a smaller waterfall pool which was not working and a top pool with a self service area. We had travelled to Turkey last year and had been really spoilt with our food - so on our first day we were really upset to find such a poor choice. Breakfast probably had the best selection, but most days we had toast and we were really sad for our sons as they had cornflakes and bread ! Lunch and dinner were very similar with not much choice - each night they had chicken or pork which was cooked on the grill. We did get very disappointed as each time we visited the restaurant we always had to queue to get into the restaurant and once inside queue again for the grilled meat. Not sure of the bottled water on your table as it comes already undone and really does not taste very nice. The hotel has a snack bar which is open from 10-5.15 and the lady there works so very hard to serve the same things every day - either pizza, pastries or ham and cheese toasties or the kebab style meat - it is just ok. We did once eat in the Italian which was slightly better than the main restaurant and made a nice change as no queuing. The beach here is across the road - and it is shingle, the sea is clear and warm and you will find lots of fish swimming around. We did visit the sister hotel for a meal and yes it was much better - we also used this pool for their slides - even though the food was better at the sister hotel the atmosphere at the Rhodos Village was better. The animation team do work very hard and did brighten up the day with games around and in the pool in particular animator Rio was terrific and had us in fits when playing darts. Animator Willy took water aerobics and did a great job too. Even though we had a lovely 2 weeks and met some really lovely people which really made our holiday fantastic - I could not recommend this hotel as the food really does let it down. It is certainly not even close to a 5-star rating.

Room Tip: We were in room 441 and this was overlooking the lower pool area - avoid room 101

We stayed at Rhodos Village 15 - 22 August with our two children, a girl of 12 and a boy of 10.

Our coach transfer was in excess of 2 hours and we arrived just before 01.00am. Reception were very friendly, and we were all offered cheese sandwiches and an apple, no liquid refreshment was available (on transfer to our room there was 2 small bottles of pop in fridge and one glass - between 4 !).

We were driven up to room 539, our kids were horrified ! We have gone self catering in private accomodation for the last few years tho' - and this is Greece !
We had booked quite late, a week before departure - the room was only fit for 2 people. There were 2 single beds pushed together (quite firm mattress, but not ridiculous), but for the kids there were 2 horrible metal campbeds... I was horrified by this, no hotel should be selling a room for 4 people without including a proper bed for all occupants - my daughter is a good bit taller than me, the beds were smaller and narrower than a standard bed.
The next day we moved some of the furniture onto the patio (a bedside table, and a coffee table) as we could not move properly round the room or open the patio doors with them in.

We had a decent sized patio, overlooking a slightly scruffy bit of garden - but beyond that a lovely sea view. Over the wall at the end of the garden was the Ampitheatre for the evening entertainment (finished at 12 pm), to be fair this did not cause us any problems, and generally we were happy with the location of the room, it was quiet.

The room decor was quite poor with lots of cracks in walls/ceiling. The bathroom was ancient... the shower was challenging - had a life of it's own !
The furniture was shabby and dated.
The aircon worked (although not brilliantly), during our stay it got noisier and noisier (rarely on except at night time) I did report this, but it did not improve. On our last day as I walked under it and water started running out of it, turned it off but was dripping for a while.

We used the upper pool and it was very pleasant. On arrival we were advised by people we were chatting to that you could not get sunbeds unless you got up at 5.00 am.. I got up at 6.30 the next 2 days (i was awake, will not set my alarm !) and went up to reserve some. To be honest hardly any were reserved, when I passed later after 8.00 am there were still plenty. We reserved most days, mostly after 7 with no problems - beds were still available after 9.00 am but not always umbrellas.

Food ! The restaurant was busy - but not ridiculous, we did have to queue to get in, but rarely more than a couple of minutes.

Breakfast was pretty good with pancakes / fried eggs and omeletes freshly cooked for you. This did finish at 10.00am but all the other stuff was readily available until 10.30.

Lunch had a good selection, always fish, chicken, pork, salads, pasta, spag bol / neopolitan etc. soup was always available at lunch / dinner. plus a range of puddings and ice cream.

Dinner was pretty similar to lunch, there was always quite a lot to choose from - I always found something (and i am pretty fussy). Meat was on the bone, but well cooked - I just found the sauces a bit bland - but you are catering for the masses ! Roast pork one night was lovely !, in fact I wish they had done a carved meat each day (only saw it once !), my son loves carveries - he lived on spag bol, melon, bread and chips...

The italian restaurant, we went twice and it was a pleasant change. My kids thought the pizza was ok (and they love pizza !), my pork in tarragon and mustard was lovely, but pork in pepper sauce was very odd - the sauce was strong to the point it burned your tongue..

Drinks.. hmmm, the juice on a morning could be very weak - as could the wine at other mealtimes. The beer was fine, local spirits were ok and the Alexander cocktail to die for !!

We only went to the entertainment on one evening, it was very busy as held in quite a small area. It ranged between being very boring to very funny (my son is dead ! Hilarious at times). We preferred to sit in a quiet area and have a drink - that was a big problem as there is hardly anywhere on an evening for you to do this. There is a lovely balcony at the front of the hotel, but always full and you had to stand around waiting for a table (which we did, and always got one). the only other place was a small bar by the covered pool - same problem there. This is a big resort, and I found this aspect on an evening very dissapointing - it struggled (in my view) to cope with everyone. The lobby area had some big sofas and a large bar, but was stifling as no air con..

bars - a bit of queuing, but not for long - and i had no problems with foreigners pushing in anywhere !

The resort does have a fair few steps in places, but is not ridiculous - i am overweight and unfit and had no problems.

Our kids had an absolute ball here, we hardly saw them ! They dissapeared off to meals with friends and experienced a level of freedom they have not known previously.

Overall the resort is tired, it is need of updating. I found the standards of cleaning very good (our room was well cleaned). There are a few ants about, but not a problem.

The stars are the staff, they work tirelessly all day every day ! I found all to be pleasant and helpful.

I have given this hotel 3 stars overall as it was ok, good even - but I cannot rate it as very good.
We were sold it as a four star, at most a three (rooms 1/2).
The courtesy room on the last day was a fair bit bigger than ours with three proper beds in - I would have been happier in this (but that was still not great).

The place does have something ! it was a very pleasant atmosphere and a nice feel to it. It could be amazing - having said that we didn't pay a fortune so you can't expect 5 star !

Would we go back ? maybe, the kids loved it ! For me it was in too remote a location, there was nothing (except a couple of supermarkets) around it. I like to go out and wander around, but it wasn't that kind of place really !

Just returned from a 2 week stay at this hotel (11th Aug to 25th Aug) we went with our friends and their children, there was 8 of us in total in two rooms. We got a taxi from the airport which cost 74 euros and took about 45minutes to get to the hotel, we had paid for a coach transfer but was told by the coach driver that it would take about 2 hours as there were 8 other stops on the way and we were the last stop.

When we first arrived at the hotel, check in was fast and we were taken to our rooms and the porter wheeled our luggage.

Once in our room it was horrible (room 486), there was a veiw of the roof of the snack bar and it was a really dark room with no natural light. This was a ground floor at the end of the block with a very small open balcony and a walk way next to it. IF ON GROUND FLOOR DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING ON THE BALACONY BECAUSE IT WILL GO FOR A WALK. I left my fit flops on the balcony to dry out and they were gone the next day. We were moved to a third floor room on our third day, due to having waste water coming up through the bathroom floor, this room was much better, we had a pool view and a sea view. Again this room was very dated and basic, but there was much more natural light.

Breakfast was probably the best meal, if you have omletes, pancakes or eggs and it is best to get there early as it is still fresh and not very busy so you dont have to que. The evening meal was not very nice, not much choice, mainly the same same stuff each night also the chicken and pork freshly cooked on the grill was never cooked properly, the meat still had blood in the middle of it. The Italian is very nice, but menu is very limited. We used the other hotel for eating, which was nice at first but this became very samey.

All the daytime action is in the bottom pool area and it was a laugh here throughout the day. My 8 year old joined mini clubs and made lots of friends so he had a really good time, the other three kids (14,16 & 16) made lots of friends and they really enjoyed themselves.

The main snack bar closes at 5.15pm but on all the literature it states that it shuts at 6pm. The floor on the snack bar gets very wet as everyone is in and out the pool and then in snack bar before drying off, a big concern was the glasses around the pool area, they should use the plastic cups in this area because there were a lot of glasses broken around the pool area.

The pool could be cleaner, it looked cloudy and the floor was very slippy.

The reception staff were not always friendly, the cleaners did a good job and as did the animation team. The animation team worked very hard to keep everyone entertained through the day and night, they were really good.

If you want a sunbed around the pool, you will have to get there before 9.00am!

Also saw a cockroahe in the pool area.

We would not return to this hotel, not really value for money.

Room Tip: Don't have a ground floor room

Scruffy rooms, dirty pools, whole place in need of refurbishment. Food was bland of cafeteria standards. Best to eat elsewhere if decent food is desired! staff a mixture of friendly through to rude. Evening entertainment was also rubbish. Very disappointed. This hotel really doesn't come up to scratch for what it costs.
