Good food, pools with waterslides for kids, miniclub with joyful animators. Seaside beach with pebbles with bar just 50 meters from it. Nice place to stay within, but if you want to see something more you should get a car - even Kiotari is 40 minutes by foot away.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view - especially nice in the evening when you can see Pefkos light across the bay

I was very skeptic, due to the low price of the entire deal
We had some inconveniences - but these were due to the trip organization, and the stay at the hotel made up for it all!
We were a family of 5 (kids aged 8, 5 1) - there were activities for all the ages, even I participated in a water polo game :)
I would highly recommend Lindos Imperial - the food, the staff, the rooms (we received an electric kettle to boil water, baby bed etc)
And the highlight - the pools! the kids loved the water slides and the baby pool!

Room Tip: If you have kids - rooms next to the slides are a must!

Hotel
The hotel has a luxurious look and feel. It looks very nice from the outside and it is quite clean and spacious. The flower beds were well maintained and nice. The hotel is a very large complex though. There’s nothing to do in the near neighbourhood (no restaurants, bars or shops). Lindos is a 20 minutes taxi drive from the hotel, but worth visiting. Lots and lots of Russian people staying at the hotel.

Reception area
Very spacious, well decorated and clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. Check in and out was arranged in a minute, but at our arrival we didn’t get ANY information about the hotel/sports/restaurants/spa which I think is very strange. The second day I asked for information about the opening hours of the restaurants and bars, but the info we got wasn’t even correct.

Room
We booked a junior suite. The room was situated in the main building, above the reception area. When you entered the room, there was a bedroom for 2 children and a fridge. As a welcoming present we got some sweets and a bottle of red wine, which was thoughtful. There were 2 bottles of water in the fridge, but unfortunately those were the only two bottles we got and we had to refill them ourselves.
The bathroom was spacious. There were two sinks, a bath, a rather small shower cabin and a toilet. Bath towels were changed every day.
There was more than enough space to store your clothes and a safe. Unfortunately there was no iron, although this is a 5* hotel.
There was plenty of space in the master bedroom (1 large bed, not two small beds next to each other, which is a plus), but the mattress was terribly hard and uncomfortable which led to short and bad nights… We had a Samsung flat tv. The walls were rather thin… Especially in the bathroom (we could nearly understand what our neighbours were saying, which was enormously irritating).
The balcony was also very large, but I hated the TOTAL lack of privacy. We had a nice view over mountains and the see. The road in front of the hotel is not a busy road so there wasn’t much noise from traffic.

Food and drinks

Main restaurant
VERY hardworking and friendly staff. A big applause for them!!! They do their very best to help everybody as quickly as possible and they’re clearly stressed and overworked. We even felt sorry for them! They have to work very long days and only have 1 or 2 days off per month. Hiring more staff is definately a must! And it wasn’t high season yet (the end of May)! This would be an advantage for the customers and the staff. Seeing them stressing around isn’t very relaxing on your holiday (but you can’t blame them off course!). Unfortunately some tourists don’t notice this and they think that they’re the only guests in the hotel… I am convinced that an extra bar on the balcony would help the staff a lot. They have to walk a fairly long distance to get the drinks and they waste valuable time.
The choice of food was quite large. You will always find something you like (although some dishes looked terrible). Breakfast was ok, but I expected more/better quality food. There was an egg frying station, bread, yoghurt, cereals, English breakfast, bacon (erm… baked ham), scrambled eggs, some cheese, and a very small selection of fresh fruit. At lunch and dinner there was always a selection of cold food (like Greek salad) and warm dishes. Although the food that was supposed to be warm, it was always lukewarm or cold. During the busy hours, the cooks had difficulties to refill and they ran out of the best dishes quickly. The dishes were hardly labelled (“fish” or “meat” if you were lucky). The selection of desserts was terrible. The only dessert I liked was the baklava. Drinks were bad. I only drank water, apple juice and a few beers. I ordered a white wine once and the taste was horrible + it was warm! The orange juice was absolutely terrible. They should also ban all the canned fruit and vegetables. This kind of food is NOT suitable for a 5* hotel.
Having dinner inside the restaurant isn’t very pleasant. It is not cosy at all. We always ate outside. You have a very nice panoramic view when sitting on the balcony.
We arrived very late in the evening (the main restaurant was already closed) and the reception arranged a cold meal for us at the Wunderbar. We only got 2 small cheese sandwiches each. Although I guess this weren’t the only leftovers from the restaurant that evening... We left very early and we got a very early breakfast as well (quite limited choice, but ok).

Mediterranian restaurant
Underneath the main restaurant there’s the mediterranian restaurant (also buffet). You can reserve a table at the reception (one day beforehand). The staff is very friendly and they serve better quality food. The white wine was nice and cold. I especially loved the pizzas!
The à la carte restaurants weren’t open during our stay, although I would have loved to try the traditional Greek restaurant…

Bar at relax pool
I loved the bar man! I don’t remember his name though. Also hard working and friendly. He had to do almost everything on his own. We almost always drank cocktails there. The “framissima” was the nicest cocktail we tried. But don’t expect a lot of alcohol… The cocktails were diluted with quite a lot of soda water.
I should add that the toilets at the relax pool (downstairs) are terrible. The doors are all broken, some of the locks don’t work properly. Totally different from the toilets at the main pool area. They were well kept.

Wunderbar
We didn’t think the Wunderbar was that “wunderbar”… You could choose to sit inside or outside (again; a nice view on the terrace). But the male waiter was terribly slow. It was hard to catch his attention (I don’t like shouting at waiters at all, but sometimes you just had to) and once you ordered, you had to wait a long time for the (mostly lukewarm) drinks to arrive.

Beach bar/restaurant
We only went to the beach bar once. They serve some warm and cold dishes in the afternoon, soup and ice cream.

Beach
A mixture of grey sand and small stones – not comfortable at all to walk on barefoot! We didn’t spend any time at the beach.

Relax pool
Not very relaxing, because apparently (during our stay) it was the only pool with a bar. All the other pool bars were closed. The sun beds were terrible… There were no matresses! Come on! It was very uncomfortable to relax on those things. This is not 5*-like at all! There was a beach towel service (at the spa), but you could only change your towels after 3 days! Yuck!

In a nutshell: we will not return to this hotel. For a 5* hotel there were too many things that annoyed us. This is definately not a 5* hotel! I would not recommend this hotel to couples. I guess it is nice for people with kids.
Luckily we didn’t pay a high price for our stay. We actually booked the Lindos Village hotel, but 2 days before our departure, we got a phonecall from our travel agent who said the Lindos Village hotel wasn’t even open yet! Very strange, as you can find reviews on TA from people who stayed there in May this year… Check them out yourself… And also check the numerous fantastic 5*reviews about Lindos Imperial and Village from brandnew TA members with only 1 review… Just saying…

Dear Guests good morning.

Thank you for leaving such a detailed review about your experiences staying here with us.

Thank you for your compliments for our hotel and grounds, we are as advertised in a quiet location, a 15 minute taxi ride from Lindos. There are bars and restaurants on the beachfront and in the village center of Kiotari which is 2.5 kms away and can be accessed either via walking along the flat sea front road or by taxi or of course the fun land train that goes around the circumference of the village and back all day long (payable service) The restaurant on the sea front are very nice and traditional it is a shame if you missed them during your stay.

For the guest info directories in the room, due to a delay in our printing supplier we are late this year to add them to the rooms. We provide a mini fridge in the rooms for our guests, any we put complimentary water in on arrival, but we do not refill them they are not mini bars and we do not advertise them as such.

For safety reasons we do not provide irons to the rooms, this again is advertised on our website and should not have been a surprise to you upon visiting us. We are sad to read that you had uncomfortable sleeps, we try our best to provide each guest with the best stay, it is a shame in your case we didn't get it right.

Thank you for your kind words about our restaurant staff they do indeed work hard, please do not think that we overwork our staff, here on Rhodes a tourist destination, which only opens the hotels for 6 months of the year, it is normal throughout all the hotels for the staff in most hotels they work with no days off, we indeed offer our staff days off, but because the normal is to work only 6 months of the year you must understand that we all work longer hours, many staff through their own choice work 2 jobs in summertime. We are glad that overall you enjoyed dining.

Thank you for your kind words for Gerosimos at the Relax Bar, he is great :)

We have noted all the rest of your comments and can assure you we will investigate them.

Thank you again for taking time to write a review and we hope the above will not put you off visiting us again to see that we listen and learn to our guests in every effort to keep our services and facilities on the up and up!

Kindest regards, Lindos Imperial Resort & Spa

Dear Guest, Elena.

We are very shocked to read your review, from time to time we may receive negatives comments regarding the hotel, but almost never for our children's facilities, food and general service towards mums and children, for this we are world class,

We have elevators that make passing the levels of the Resort easy and have covered terrace snack bars and restaurants, as well as many sunbeds and umbrellas to take shade, but June / July in Greece is very hot.

I wish you had taken the time to speak with us during your stay if you were really so unhappy as we see from the overall score you have left us, we would have liked to help you, your score is very unfair, we wish you all the best, the Lindos Imperial Resort & Spa

We came with two kids and got a room that was different from what we ordered. That room designed for couple with one child when our reservation was for Family room 2+2. After waste almost two days of debate with reception people and a lot of nerves we got the right room. BTW, although we asked to talk to manager it not happened.
Inside the room: pillows and mattress not comfortable and sheets not so "white"(PFA)
I asked few times for more pillows, but same as manager, they never came.
About towels, it would nice to get clean towels time to time
The food was ok, but same day after day.
And the most shocking thing was daily water breaks, usually eod when you come from pool and want to take a shower. If you lucky, you will have a little of cold water otherwise you need to try in some other time.

Dear Guests Ellentes & Family.

Thank you for taking time to write a review, we very much appreciate your feedback.

Thank you also for bringing to our attention the pillow, with so many guests visiting us things can get worn out much quicker than we would notice in our homes, we change the pillows on a regular basis, this one had slipped through the net but has now been replaced, once again thank you for your feedback and we hope that you will decide to visit us again in the future at the Lindos Imperial Resort & Spa
