“Very decent place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 October 2013

We were here a while ago and were happy to stay here.
Our room was across the road and had a seperate swimming pool. Since it was there, it was calmer and more quiet.
Reception in the hotel is top notch : very friendly staff and always willing to help you (and look for a solution). We had a problem : matress was rock hard - complained about it and received a top layer to soften it up ! Decent ! We arrived around midnight and therefore missed the evening lunch : the staff was prepared : the had a cold salad plate for us in our fridge and proposed some snacks if necessary.
The room was large, clean and had all we expected. Nice balcony too.
The restaurant was very clean with lots of choice. Quality of the food was mixed : sometimes basic, sometimes ok. Expectations for a 4 star hotel were met.
Most of the guests were Russian and German. We were a bit afraid at start (the stories of queue misbehaviour, over-full plates, unfriendly, ...), but I'm happy to report there were no problems.
Several pools were there, but the temperature was a bit low (but hey, I don't expect to heat all those pools). There was an inside pool that was heated.
Animation team : these were mostly Italian young people. Thumbs up for what they did. I hardly participated to anything but it was clear they did major efforts for mixed events and a good laugh.
Beach was at walking distance and a shuttle was available for those who needed it.
Beach was very clean (eco approach) and beach bar had everything I needed.

Best memory : the sea ! There's a very nice snorkeling area along the whole area where there are tons of fishes. I saw : muray eele, octopus, squid, snappers, scorpion fish, .... . Fishes were used to get some food and were therefore abundantly present in shallow water. Very nice !

Room Tip: If you ask for the rooms across the street you'll have a more quiet holiday.

We were at the hotel from 25 Sept to 2 Oct 2013 as a couple in our fifties.

Overall I would say that this package (booked through Secret Escapes) was really great value for money. It was all inclusive, flight from Manchester and transfers to and from the hotel.

The transfer itself is a bit of a faff after you have been on the go for a few hours - it takes about an hour and a half from the airport, as it dropped off at multiple points on the way and ours was the last stop. However, you do get to see a bit of the island and you can also weigh up the other hotels on your way through (definitely think ours was the best we saw from the outside at least).

The actual hotel itself is lovely and the views are fantastic from pretty much everywhere. It is spotlessly clean and the reception area itself is really quite impressive when you walk in.

The staff - in the main I thought they were ok, but as a pretty seasoned traveller, certainly not the best I have come across. I caveat this by saying that we didn't require anything of them, however, particularly the reception staff could do with being a bit more welcoming and there were a couple behind the desk that didn't seem at all bothered whether you were there or not. The best person on our experience was the lady who cleaned the bedrooms in our block (room 544). She was happy, friendly and added little touches like a few flowers in a glass when you came back to the room - this was really appreciated.

The food and drink - this is plentiful and really does try to cater for every taste. I read comments before booking from people saying it was poor quality, but I definitely did not find that to be the case. There is a lot of choice each day - grilled meats, pasta, salads, vegetables and a variety of desserts. They are catering for a lot of people at one time, and I think that the standard is well maintained. I do however have to agree with the comments from others which suggests that the wine particularly is watered down. If it isn't, it is very low alcohol and as someone who enjoys a glass of wine, I was happy when we went out a time or two to experience something with a bit more bite. However, it's a minor point, as it was all included and the beer was quite nice.

The bedroom - very clean and quite large, but very plain and again as others have pointed out the beds are extremely hard. I guess this will suit some, but definitely did not make for an especially comfortable nights sleep for us. The air conditioning is also a little on the antiquated side and noisy if you want to leave it on during the night.

The pool areas - these we particularly enjoyed. The fact that you can overlook the pool and the sea is fabulous and the weather was really beautiful for the time we were there (except for 1 day but it is autumn!). At night, the pool looks really lovely with the lights under the trees too. Again, as commented, music is on pretty much all day and the animation team are on the go all the time running activities and trying to get you to join in. They all seemed lovely and I can imagine if you go as a family, for the kids, this is a bonus. However, sometimes, you did want a bit of peace, but we knew what to expect from what others said, and it didn't stop our enjoyment.

The beach - it is very close to the hotel however, it is a little walk down some quite steep steps, so that needs to be borne in mind. The sea was lovely and crystal clear and plentiful sunbeds. The beach café serves a slimmed down version of the lunchtime food served in the main restaurant, but it was really nice. Just watch the sand flies - they bite!

The other facilities - there is lots to do here: tennis, mini golf, table tennis, gym, indoor pool and hot tub, football, volleyball etc etc. My other half is an avid gym visitor (5 times a week at home) and although he went every day, he said the equipment was pretty outdated. Still most probably wouldn't bother about this, but if it does matter to you, then don't go with high expectations. There is also a games room with air hockey and pool tables. We did use these and had fun, but again, everything needs a little updating.

A couple of other things to mention. Renting a car is really easy from the hotel and cost us 40 euros for a day. We would definitely recommend a trip to Lindos. This for us was our best day. The views from the acropylis are stunning and the place itself is really quaint with the donkeys carrying people up and down. It is not particularly easy walking though so wouldn't recommend if you are not so great on your feet but for anyone else, if you are in Rhodes, I would say it's a must. We also drove out to Rhodes town itself for a day. Lovely place, but be warned, if you go by car, parking is a bit of a nightmare and it's generally a bit chaotic - not for the faint-hearted. Thompson cruises for example seem to stop there, so as you can imagine, there is a lot of hustle and bustle, but again, glad we went.

I have tried to be balanced in this review and although not everything was spot on, we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. Just the overall relaxing atmosphere and lovely views from this part of the island made it for us. The hotel is, as I said, good value and would definitely recommend it to others,

Room Tip: As said above, we were in 544 which was away from the main block. I think most of the rooms have a...

We stayed at the hotel with 8 friends for our wedding in Lindos. I couldn't fault the hotel, food was excellent and varied, rooms were large and clean, in fact the whole hotel was spotless. Kiotari is a little way out of the hustle and bustle but that is why we chose this hotel and is only a short bus trip away from Lindos. We had planned to take trips out but were so happy relaxing at the hotel or beach never ventured very far which is a first for us, What really makes this hotel so special is the staff who went out of their way to help us and were so friendly.
A special mention must go to Nico who when he found out we were getting married made our wedding day seem so special and something we will remember forever, also Panagiota who made sure all our guests rooms were close to one another,All front of hotel staff were brilliant right from the start when we were welcomed by a lovely smiling young man at 6.45 am in the morning. A special mention must go to the lady in the coffee bar downstairs who worked so hard but always ready with our cups of tea and a smile,
We must also say a big thank you to the animation team who are just fantastic and kept us amused throughout our stay in particular German, Giulano, Missimo and Francesco what a fantastic hard working team but not too pushy,
We have stayed in many all inclusive hotels but this has to be the best ! !
Definatley love to go back to this hotel and recommend it to everyone to try because i don't think you will find better .
So thank you Rodos Princess for making our stay magical.

Very good hotel, if you need:
- beautiful sea
- no clouds all the time
- lively holiday
- very noisy animation by pool all days (you can hear them even by the sea)
- grilled sausage as speciality for the lunch and dinner every day
- margarine instead the butter
- all inclusive alcoholic drinks locally produced low quality
- no guiet among the Italians and Russians :-)

We were 11 nights from 26.08-06.09. We have a 7 years old boy and we were pleased with this hotel. I am managing a travel agency, so I saw many hotels in my life. I must say good and bad for us. This hotel has a nice quiet position, relatively close to the beach, there are some stairs. The beach has really clear water, lot of fish in the water, snorkeling is great. On the beach there are enough sunbeds and umbrellas. There is a beach bar and snack bar with fruits (sweet oranges, water melon, apples, pears), salads, pizza (pizza with cheese only), some fast food that we did not enjoy, but we saw people generally enjoying it. Drinks are... all inclusive system, not best quality, but lets say ok. All day beer, dispenser coca cola and fanta, sprite, water. The alcoholic drinks were not that good, so not a good gin tonic or campari orange or pina colada. I am sorry to say but this is the letdown. But since we are not much of a drinker, we did not mind. The pools are so beautiful, large, clear (except the jacuzzi that was dirty and sometimes bad smell) the water in the pool sometimes was cold, but generally it was ok. Kids playground area was lack of shadow and also at the pools sunbeds there were less shadow then needed, the sun is really strong from early morning. Breakfast is the same every morning (and this is normal!), but complete and good, we use to have fresh juice on charge at every hotel, but here there was not this possibility, so we eat every day lot of fruits, very sweet oranges, good grapes, pears, melons, dry apricots. Food is OK, for 4* hotel in Greece is really good variety, every evening was at least one sea fruit, shrimps, calamari, octopus, fish every evening. We also had dear, rabbit, but normally every evening were all common meats link chicken, pork, veal, fish. Sweets are common, nothing worth mention. We did not like them.
Room is large, and sea view is a must, but the furniture is ugly and old. All are functional , beds are comfortable, cleaning service very good. Minibar free and well supplied.
Animation team is fantastic, really good customer care, nice amusing shows in the evening. Staff in all hotel is very nice and smiling. At the restaurant all are working really hard and still be able to smile.
We liked this hotel was not full of Russians, but Italians, English, German, and some Russians but nice quiet people this time :). Do not compare this hotel with a real 5* Antalya hotel, even if you pay more, remember Greece is expensive, but go here if you want to enjoy Rhodes and good services for your family. Bus station is in front of the hotel, we liked LINDOS town, very nice, Prasonisi and Rhodes town. I hope you enjoy your holiday!

Room Tip: Sea view! Sea view! Garden view is not ok , they are facing the lemon garden but also the hall where...

First of all the Rodos Princess is on its own a good Four Star Hotel. The Good points are: It is situated away from all the hustle and bustle of every day life. The Beaches are immaculate with crystal clear waters, but the beaches are of shingle and not that of sand.
The Grounds of the hotel are well maintained, free from any rubbish and well cared for, The Animations Team are very good and work so hard to please everybody, and the cleaners work just as hard.
The food is good and there is of good quality and there is always an abundance of each dish, but the food is so repetitive everyday. The view's over the ocean are utterly divine and scenic.
The bad points are that there fridge is filled and by filled I mean that every two days your give 2 of the following, 2 Soda Water, 2 Cola, 2 Orange, 2 Lemon, and 2 Water, 2 Beers, if your a family of four is that your allowance will be gone in moments.
The Hotel may well be 4 Star but the rooms and certainly only 2 Star, 3 at the most. If you have a young child with you then you need top be made aware that there is no baby changing facilities in any of the toilets, my daughter and her partner either had to take there son back to their hotel room change him or had to change him over the sink worktops, which was totally unacceptable.
If you want to store your valuables in the room safe then the Hotel charges you 30 Euro for two weeks.
You may wish to extend the time of your room as you need to leave the room by 12:00 hours, you may pay for the privilege of extending your room till 18:00 hours, for a charge of course of 55 Euro.
Costs are another thing, all those wanting to stay at the hotel need to be aware that things are not cheap, I purchased my daughter a pencil sharpener 4 Euro, what a rip off, these cost pennies in the UK, everything seems to hit visitors really hard, and yes I Know that everyone has to make a living, but 10 minutes down the road there is a Care Four'e Supermarket that are reasonably priced.
The children caught a ear infection from the swimming pool and a trip to the Pharmacy cost 10 Euro, for every aliment.
On a final say about the hotel people need to be aware about the hotels location, its miles from anything, the journey by the bus is roughly a hour and a half, a taxi to Rhodes cost around 60 Euro.
Rhodes Airport don't expect anything special its has a duty free shop, and I takeaway shop either for a bit of Pizza or for greasy chips and horrible chicken nuggets, at a price you would never ever pay for in the United Kingdom.

Dear Guest,

Thank would like to thank you for choosing Rodos Princess Beach Hotel for your holiday and also for taking the time to write about your experience. We read your review with great interest and also with a bit of disappointment. Every other day we refill the minibar in guest rooms with complimentary drinks. It is the first time we get any negative feedback about this gesture that many of our guests actually find welcoming and unexpected. You are more than welcome to serve yourself as much as you would like with refreshments in the hotels bars and restaurants which are open all day long. Our beautiful private beach is a mix of fine sand and pebbles – like 90% of rest of the beaches on this island. And yes as you mentioned, it is immaculate clean with crystal clear waters. About your remarks concerning the rooms we would like to say that we are proud to offer such good sizes, many with a great sea views. There are many rooms we are planning to renew, we have started a renovation project and this will go over time during the next winters so we don’t disturb the other guests in the summer.
Our location, Kiotari, is really the booming place in Rhodes due to its natural beauty. It is not overdeveloped and we highlight the fantastic location on our website. Still, you have shops and local bars in walking distance. It is far away from a hotel in Rhodes Town that we can surly agree. Rhodes Airport – sorry, we can’t speak on their behalf.Otherwise, thank you for highlighting all the good sites about our Hotel – we very much appreciate your kind and motivating words.
We really hope we have the chance to welcoming you back in the future,

Best Regards,
Rodos Princess Team
