We stayed there for a long weekend in May, rooms are nice, modern decorated, clean. A bit noisy from the road above or from the bars around, if you fancy sleeping with the balcony doors opened. Shower is modern though the water pressure a little slow. Full of Russians on packet holiday. Breakfast is continental with enough variety to choose from, decent quality. We did not want full board but were invited to have a look at the buffet for the evening and decide if we want, on spot. There was not much choice, few salads, 2-3 main dishes but for 10 E per person, we considered it fair. Reception service efficient, bar staff nice. Location is very good, only 3 minutes walk to the beach even though the closest beach is quite tiny and obviously very crowded. We preferred to go to the Livadi Beach which is much larger, has water sports and more restaurants and bars to choose from. If we ever return to Bali we'd most likely choose the same hotel.

Room Tip: Superior rooms have more space but view to the sea is somehow obstructed by the trees

Have just returned from a Magicai stay at Bali Star.Having visited Bali previously, probably 10 years ago,I used Trip Advisor and it's recommendations to source this hotel.I requested a superior room with good sea view....and this is exactly what we got.Our 11 night stay was certainly up to/above expectations. The hotel was 1st class and ALL Staff made our stay so comfortable and relaxing. We were B & B,and the Breakfasts were excellent, catering for all tastes.Evening meals were buffet style but looked very good.
If there was a downside,it would be the Booming music played in the bar in front of the hotel during the daytime, which was certainly off-putting when on the beach, and also the Mambo Bar,belonging to the Bali Star came to life about 2300hrs,which meant that the bedroom doors had to be closed and air-con on.!!
As we like Crete for the peace and quiet, this was annoying....but the hotel itself was excellent.

Room Tip: If you want morning sun...a room at the front(but music noise and restaurant below) Quieter at side...

We had a wonderful stay at the Bali Star hotel back in late Sept 2013. For a 3 star rated hotel it is amazing. We have stayed in a lot worse 5 star hotels. Good location, very near the beach. The room was fabulous - although we were upgraded from a standard booking. We only booked B&B as is our preference so I can't comment too much on dinner. The breakfasts were lovely. Buffet style but a bit of variation daily. I would comment that I am not sure I fancied dinner there, it was ok for breakfast but a bit canteen like for dinner. There are lots of places to eat dinner within walking distance - menus are very similar from place to place but the food is nice enough and the settings lovely. Bali is great, but hilly so don't come if you don't do hills. There is a little train that runs every hour but even so I would say you need to be fairly able to walk.
Back to the hotel, staff were very helpful, room was clean. Pool area very nice. Bar area good. Drinks service good. I am not sure if the cocktail bar on the beach belonged to the hotel but the music was far too loud in the evening to have a conversation which was a shame because it is a lovely location.
My only suggestion for improvement is more comfortable loungers for the pool/garden area. After a while numbness won over!

Well done to the owner/manager. You should be proud of making the a Bali Star a wonderful place to stay. Thank you from our family for making our stay truly memorable.

Great rooms and nice location close to the beach, and beach bar. Friendly staff and fantastic rooms especially the look of the bathroom - very comfy bed. The downsides 1) we were kept waiting for over an hour to check into the hotel 2) the shower in the bathroom would flood the floor even when glass shower door was closed, 3) beach bar mambo which is owned by the hotel (I think) served us the WORST tasting mochito ive had in my life. The spirit in the drink tasted altered - took one sip and didn't touch it again. We told the bar man the drinks were undrinkable and yet he still charged us. 4) I still find it unthinkable that in our day in age WIFI is still charged for by hotel establishments.

We were a company of different ages-I, a young woman, my elderly mother and nephew 13 years. We all loved the hotel and the time spent there. The hotel is well renovated. Especially the bathrooms are in good condition. From my point of view, expensive spa. Next to the hotel is quiet, shallow lagoon, and 15 minutes later a large beach with waves.

This August i visited Crete and more specifically i stayed in this hotel. My impressions are excellent mainly of the quality of the rooms because they had everything that some client want. Also it had fantastic food with a big variaty of greek traditional food like mouzaka, pastitsio and other tasty foods. Furthermore i has a good place because it is only 50 metres from the sea and 50 from a Cretan Traditional Market Gaia that it was my daily visit to buy products like oil, raki some fresh fruits and a lot of creams for my wife. Finally i want to note the excellent service of the owners Mr Dimitris and Mrs Fotini and Ivan. Surely i will go there again because my wife want to eat food from the restaurant of Bali Star and buy a lot of products from the traditional market Gaia

Room Tip: All rooms, i think that are the same
