(Arrived home 21.09.2011) We arrived at the hotel late afternoon & was greeted by the reception staff who were friendly & helpful & led us to our room which was about 50 yards from the sea, the rooms & complex were all spotless clean, rooms cleaned everyday & beds changed 4th day after we arrived. Next morning my husband didn't get up early enough for brekky so we walked along the coastal path to Mastihari & had our brekky at El Greco which was really nice (first taverna as you reach Mastihari) when we went to the restaurant for our brekky the next morning we were really disappointed as the only English type food was a thick horrible stodgy omelette, plenty of choice for German & other Europeans though, we tried another twice during our week there & found only fried eggs & beans, again not much choice for English people (we are not the kind of people that goes to Greece & wants English food all the time as we try many Greek dishes, but we do like choice & like a good breakfast) there was never any bacon it must have flown over the pig!!!
I went to get us a cup of tea & there wasn't even any English tea bags i was absolutely fuming & could have hit someone over that.
Food served at night wasn't bad but all cheap cuts of meat etc however you could make something from it that resembled a meal.
The beer was absolute garbage it would have taken about 40 of the small glasses that it was served in to get a little tipsy, the cocktails were not brilliant either.
Needless to say because of the food & drink options we spent a lot of time (& money) away from the hotel.
We have been abroad many times & have only had an odd 1 or 2 bites but as other reviews point out there are mozzies galore at this place we were eaten alive by them, (we use boots 50% deet mozzie repellent as i read online that nothing works unless it has 50% deet in it) & this didn't make any difference. would we go back there? never

Arrival 2am very pleasant luggage taken to room and supplied with sandwiches which were a little dry but the thought was there. Don't book transfers as a taxi is only 16 euro s but they are only cars so only 4 passengers. Room lovely very clean had a little fridge in it only let down was bathroom no shower hook and water only hot sometimes pretty standard for abroad. Pool large and clean plenty of sun beds and shade. Beach only 2 min walk but was bit rocky much better a little further on, also nudist beach if that's what you like ( I am sure the couple we met kept nipping off there for an hour in the afternoon !!!) Food cant complain always a variety unless you are really fussy not to mention pizza and pastries all day at pool bar. Drinks good variety with cocktails included. Bar staff and Dinner staff all very pleasant but then us British know how to be polite and friendly unlike others . Met some nice people yes you know who you are ( the one's who thought it would be cool to leave the patio door open through the night and ended up with 38 bites !!!! Air conditioning 6 euro s worth every penny although noisy. Entertainment was ok but again its what you make it . If you want a relaxing week away i recommend this hotel.( 2 adults 17,17,9 and 7 years 31st aug to 8th sept )

Room Tip: rooms in the old part more going on

We have just come back from a 10 night stay at Euro Village Achilleas Beach, and we had the most amazing time. From reading some of the comments, me and my partner were a bit worried about the hotel, however we knew that we would make it a good holiday no matter what.
On arriving, the reception staff were nice enough to us and led us down to our room (right by the beach - amazing views). We were located in the ‘old’ part of the hotel, and even though a lot of people have recommended asking for the ‘new’ part, we would definitely say to ask for the ‘old’ part, as you are right by the main swimming pool, bar and restaurants. However if you want a much quieter holiday the go for the ‘new’ part.
The food in the hotel was really nice - quite a bit of choice and something for everybody. We would definitely recommend booking for the ‘themed restaurant’ for Greek and Italian nights, but the queues are quiet long in that restaurant so get there early - well worth the wait though (even though other people may disagree with this, we however are right and don’t listen to them!!!!!)
The bar staff are very friendly and the queues aren’t that long - most we had to wait at night was 5 minutes, there is also quite a good variety of different drinks available in the all inclusive packages.
The entertainment that was put on, was ok some nights, and other nights a bit naff - We Will Rock You, is a good performance to watch, and also the audience participation one, especially if you know someone who is in it and they are trying to steal trousers off some poor unsuspecting man!! (all part of the game of course!!)
The animation team were ok, only 2 of them actually spoke to us the whole time we were there and we were largely ignored by the others, whether this was because we didn’t have any kids in kids club or that we were the ‘noisy English group’, I don’t know.
Some things that we recommend that you do if you go to this hotel is going to the water park - which is free, including transfers from and to the hotel. We also hired a ‘Buggy’ one day (like a quad bike, but safer), and travelled around the island. If you don’t have young kids on holiday with you, I would strongly recommend you do this - it was only 38 euros for the day, and you can keep the buggy till 8 at night.
A last word of warning, take lots of mosquito cream and spray, and don’t be stupid like us and leave the balcony door open at all (my partner woke up with 38 bites on his back after that incident!!) Also, always wear the spray if sitting round watching the shows at night, or you will be itching for days, unless you have some nice friends who give you anti-inflammatory tablets - cheers Beccy!!
In all, we had a fantastic holiday - especially for the price we paid for it. We have been on much more expensive holidays and they have been nowhere near as good as this one. I really don’t understand how people can be so negative about the place, I think some people just like to moan for the sake of moaning and are obviously not on holiday with the right people if they have that bad a holiday!!! We met some fantastic people and had a great laugh. I would recommend anyone to go - for the price, you won’t get anything better!!

Just got back yesterday from a week all inclusive stay, did not want to come home! We are a young couple. Few weeks before we emailed the hotel to request a sea view, which we got! We arrived at the hotel at half 1pm, reception staff polite, speak very good english. Was very impressed with the apperance of the hotel. The grounds were lovely, very clean and well maintained. Soon as we arrived they told us to leave our bags there and go to the restaurant for lunch. Bags were taken to are apartment, EXTREMELY happy with the view.Room was quite basic but the views made up for it. Apartment was cleaned everyday and fresh bedding and towels! Only a few steps away from the private beach, which there was plenty of free sunbeds but we liked to walk along a bit were the beach was empty, clear blue water and white sand it was fab! There is a short stretch of nudist beach about 10 min walk along the beach, not many people there about 6 at the most, nobody bothers you. Was at least 30 degrees everyday. Further along the beach is mastihari, very small village with only a couple of shops and restaurants. LOVED that there was NO PESTS!!, Nobody trying to sell you anything or get you into there restaurant!! The pool area was lovely, very quiet, most people at the beach. Lots of shade too. There is a pool bar that opened at 10am, drinks including alcohol soft drinks and water, pizza, pastrys, sandwiches, ice cream, as much as you like all day!! Plenty of sunbeds by the pool.

Breakfast was good, variety of choice for everyone. They changed the options every other day, so if you dont like some things one day there will be something different the next day. There is a bit of everything, fruit, yoghurt, cereal, eggs, sausage, beans, omelette, cheese, Big baskets of baguettes you just help yourself too, there is toasters to make toast. Restaurant staff very nice! Lunch was average in restaurant, always something to eat tho pasta, chips, ect? couldnt complain, was sandwiches and pizza at the pool bar if you werent fussed with the food in the restaurant. They had deserts at lunch and evening meal, which were lovely, little cakes, ice cream, chocolate mousse.

*********BOOK THEMED RESTAURANT FOR EVENING MEAL**************
They have a variety of foods for evening meal in the restaurant, but the first night we werent fussed. We went and booked the themed restaurant which you have to book 24hours before and can only book 2 nights in advance. We ate here everynight, the food was lovely. They have italian, greek, asian, international, and fish themed night. We really loved the food, especially the italian and greek night. Think we wouldnt of been as satisfied with the food if they didnt have this restaurant. You can also have your breakfast and lunch here which is just the same food as the main restaurant. For evening meal you can request to sit outside on the balcony which is lovely.

We took a trip into kos town, few reviews say that hotel runs a bus but it doesnt! You have to get the bus from the roundabout in mastihari village which is about a 15 20 min walk you can walk along the beach or along the path. They have a information board in the hotel which has the bus times on. Only 25 minutes on the bus into Kos town, there was loads of restaurants and shops, most stuff you could buy from the shops in mastihari. But worth going for a day out!

Lots of entertainment in the hotel, the animation team try so hard! They try and cater for everyone with loads of activites. Kids would love it. They would put a show on every night. We didnt join in anything as we just wanted to relax by the pool!

Of a night time we just had our dinner in the themed restaurant, then would go to the games room and have a couple of games of pool then sit in the bar. All inclusive drinks only on till 11pm but thats the same everywere. You could have all local spirits, a selection of cocktails, wine and beer on tap. They also have malibu, southern comfort ect at a cost of about 2 50 euros which isnt bad!

Overall, we would recommened this hotel to couples and families. There is something for anyone. We loved it, very nice clean hotel, lovely staff, nice food, steps from the beach, excellent value for money! What more could you ask for!!
