“No longer accepts children - be careful if you've booked”
Reviewed 13 December 2013

I just wanted to let everyone know that sadly we can no longer go on our holiday on Christmas Eve as the hotel decided no to accept children from 1 November but forget to tell the travel agents. It only came to light for me when I emailed them to ask them for two rooms next to each other. Wish I hadn't now as they would have had to deal with the problem when we arrived. Please be very careful and check your bookings as you may get turned away.

Room Tip: No longer available for children

Can't understand the few people who moan about this hotel!
The Paradise Costa Taurito is part of a trio of hotels that make up the Paradise Resort in Mogan. It's the smallest of the three and is almost separated from the rest of the resort but a short walk across the road and a trip in a glass lift brings you to the 'Arena Plaza' the entertainment area, the Aqua Park, mini golf course and selection of shops, bars and a disco which it shares with the other two hotels.
We had a four night all inclusive break from 7th until 11th December 2013.
Hampered by travelling difficulties caused by air traffic control problems in Britain on our day of arrival, we arrived late meaning that our party of four missed our evening meal. So when we eventually checked in we were pleasantly surprised to find that the hotel management had plated a cold buffet for all the delayed guests! Very nice touch!
The 4* hotel has a fabulous pool area with a bar that serves all liquid refreshments both soft and alcoholic and food during certain times of the day. The main restaurant serves a variety of choice at breakfast, lunch and evening meal. Our personal opinion is that the lunchtime selection was better than that of the evening menu, but both were equally delicious.
The rooms are comfortable and spacious with all basic amenities, hair dryer (bring your own though!), TV, fridge and electronic safe. Our balcony overlooked the Arena Plaza with the sea in the background.
I would like to take this opportunity to mention the Animation Team, who are the most genuinely friendly people, particularly Alex and Raquel who entertained us for our holiday and made our stay that much more pleasureable. The team offer all sorts of games and fun during the day but at the same time are not forceful or annoying and certainly respect those who just want to sunbathe.
With it's well maintained gardens containing beautiful Bourganville flowers and an array of magnificent palms we enjoyed relaxing around the hotel pool with the occasional fun activity by day then venturing over the road for the evening entertainment. So whatever holiday you are looking for, you will enjoy your stay at the Paradise Costa Taurito.

One additional point, please, please make use of the car hire firms at Las Palmas airport, the coach transfers can be uncomfortable and lengthy!

Lovely hotel and facilities.all staff were very helpful and pleasant. Room cleaned and fresh towels every day.local alcoholic drinks included in all inclusive but branded drinks had to be paid for. All inclusive also included ice creams, entrance to water park and free bar in water park and 'arena bar' (where the family entertainment was for the three paradise hotels).

We stayed here for one week. Costa Taurito is one of a few 4 star hotels in the resort. Benefits for this hotel is it sits away from the entertainment and water park which you access via a lift.

The room itself was very clean, beds made daily and towels changed regularly. The hotel gardens and pool were well maintained and clean. The staff worked hard, were friendly and they always said good morning. Their clothing was clean and ironed. Saki the entertainer was very good and made an effort with the guests.

The food was fine. Fish and meats served daily in some way or another, lots of salads and a selection for children. Always lots of fresh bread and you must try the garlic sauce on your salad!

This was a memorable holiday and we made lots of new friends. We are a married couple, mid 40s with a 14 year old daughter. She made friends and we felt comfortable enough leaving her to go off in the entertainment area each day to the water park without worrying as everything felt safe.

I wouldn't hesitate in returning but I hear that this hotel is changing to an adult only.

You pay what you get for so I wasn't expecting anything more than 3 stars tops, and this hotel met my expectations. Was a bit of a mission to get to the hotel from the airport (especially since we missed the public bus no thanks to its impatient driver) so we ended up taking a taxi which was a journey of approx 30-40 mins. Upon arrival, the lady receptionist was very friendly and helpful at giving us tips/directions, offering clean towels & good conversation - by far our favourite member of staff who always did the late afternoon to evening shift. On the flip-side however, there was a rude bar man who wasn't willing to offer a cup of hot water to one of my friends who happened to be pretty ill at the time.

Food was standard - for the first 2 days, there were flies hovering around the buffet area and even our tables. If you don't like sharing your food with flies or cats when sat outdoors, this probably won't be your cup of tea (not that anyone would appreciate flies on food). Sometimes it did feel as though we were offered leftovers - only a handful of the dishes served up were surprisingly tasty. We did love the cinnamon pancakes during breakfast!

Our rooms were spacious and cleaned daily. Hairdryer in bathroom was weak. Voices in neighbouring rooms can be heard to an extent, but wasn't a major problem since we occupied 2 rooms next door to eachother. Wasn't much of a view from our front-facing room, think Flinstone's Bedrock. Decor was a bit outdated, but again, remember that you're getting what you pay for.

Evening entertainment was a bit hit and miss really - we preferred the entertainment provided by the hotel (flamenco night) over the resort's evening shows (cringeworthy "We Will Rock You" performance). Cocktails were decent. La Bamba disco was a bit too quiet for us. Water park was fun.

Overall, it was a nice & sunny stay!

travelled with daughter and 2 grandkids, when we arrived I asked if our rooms were near each other, they weren't so receptionist moved us to two rooms next to each other on ground floor which was perfect for us.food was good, lunch better than dinner, the staff were brilliant made you feel very welcome,it was granddaughters birthday while we were here and they baked her a cake and sang happy birthday to her in dining room and we got a free bottle of cava.the hotel is clean and we never saw one cockroach in the week we were there.free entry to water park everyday which we all enjoyed with bar and snacks included on AI.one negative the drinks were not very alcoholic and I wondered if they had any alcohol in at all!.great bus service at end of road only 1.40 euros to MOGAN or PUERTO RICO per adult, great market on Fridays at MOGAN,great place to take kids on holiday(didn't spend anything while we were in waterpark).plenty of watersports on beach, diving, parasailing, jet ski,s etc.all in all a good holiday.oh and the weather was fantastic all week.
