Spent Chrismas 2014 in this beautiful shaded setting on the banks of a tributary of the Zambezi. The campsites and grounds are well kept with lovely shade trees.Chalets also available.Attractive pool and bar area. Spent a wonderful afternoon on a sunset cruise on the river, on a local house boat. Would recommend this resort , reasonably priced and friendly service from the manageress.Went for a walk along the dirt road to the camp felt safe and secure.

Room Tip: Did not experince the rooms as we were camping , but looked very attractive

This is a really nice stopover between chobe and katima mulilo. Nice shallow pool and great campsite. There are also a number of comfortable chalets (some of these are however not selfcatering.) Great views of the Zambezi river.

Namwi Island Lodge, Katima
The camp is located on a tributary of the Zambezi on a dirt road just outside of Katima Mulilo. There are campsites and bungalows available set in well kept grounds. The campsites are grassed, shade, power and braai facility. We booked the riverfront bungalow (Kingfisher) - this self-catering cottage had a view of the river, was well priced, large, with a bathroom en-suite (shower with good hot water), a small kitchenette, dining table and veranda with concrete seating (no shade) but strangely there was no lounge furniture so nowhere to sit in the evening. The air conditioner had been removed but there was a small fan but no mosquito nets. The camp has a pool, laundry facilities (staff a happy to do this for you) and a scullery. Reservation response slow and hit and miss.

Room Tip: Can get busy and check confirmation when booking.

We stayed in the luxury rooms for 3 nights. The room has 2 x 3/4 beds,a full kitchen with a small fridge, a small table with 2 chairs and Aircon. An outside braai and table. The garden is lovely with a lot of grass and big trees - a bird watcher's dream. The property also have camping sites and budget rooms. This lodge is value for money. We would definitely stay there again.
