The restaurant has a very warm and cosy atmosphere, with an excellent choice of food, which was mostly cooked to perfection*. Service was extremely friendly and attentive and prices were not too expensive. There were a number of fish choices but alas chicken was not available as it was "the wrong season".
The restaurant was nicely situated overlooking the sea. Meat dishes such as veal and steaks were delicious. Desserts were limited but we found portions of the main course were generous, so didn't want anything else, especially if you sample the tasty Santana bread, one of two special Madeiran breads,
*Cod fillets are salty, and are meant to be, but in our case were extremely so.
