Harry's Bungalow is not for everyone. It is however great for a couple searching for seclusion, quiet and away from all the standard party type atmosphere that Koh Samui is known for (Full Mooon Party). The Bungalow is just a standard Bungalow, nothing special but good enough for travelers that are on a budget who do not want to stay in a Guest house. It's definitely a step up from Thai "Guest House". The Bungalow is near a ferry and a speed boat launch that will take you to another Island name Koh Phaghan. The down side to this great seclusion is availability of Nice restaurants. It'll take you approximately 15 to 20 minutes walk to get into "Mae Nam" town on dimly lite road. We generally eat at Harry's restaurant and near by noodle stalls so we don't have to go out. The food was good but a bit expensive for what you get. To us it was worth it because of convenience, If you want seclusion beach without too much fan fare and without party animals screaming than this beach bungalow is for you. We enjoyed our stay very much.

We stayed at Harry's on the first night of our world travel. We chose Harry's because it's located near the beach where you take the ferry to Koh Phangan. For us it was the perfect place to rest from our long travel. The complex looks gorgeous when you drive up to it, especially at night when the restaurant is lightened by beautiful colored lights. Our bungalow was alright. Nothing fancy, but clean and spacious enough. There's a small pool at the back and a restaurant that serves proper and reasonably priced food. However, would not want to spend a long vacation over here, because it is very secluded. Just one restaurant nearby and no bars or what so ever. Also, the beach is not within walking distance (It's about 7 minutes by car) and the beach that is the nearest by, is not as pretty as the beach at for instance Chaweng.. Conclusion: the perfect place for a stopover if you' re going to Koh Phangan, but not for a long stay.

This was our first trip to Thailand so to be on the safe side we booked in advance, online, for 2 weeks. Harry's was recommended to us by a friend and was fantastic value for money! For £25 per night between us we had a cute bungalow with walk in shower room, fridge, air con and satellite TV. The main room was a good size, with a massive bed. Only slight gripe was the power of the shower and the bed was pretty hard.

We ate at the hotel restaurant most nights and the food was fantastic, good range of local curries, seafood etc, all very fresh and lovely cocktails, again very cheap!

The pool area was quite small, but there are only 19 bungalows on site, so it was never crowded. I had a Thai massage overlooking the pool and although this was somewhat different from our massages (and quite painful) at the end I felt very relaxed. They also offered other beauty treatments on site.

Local excursions could all be booked at reception and the team were all more than happy to help out and answer any questions, as well as booking taxis for you. They really couldn't do enough for us and didn't expect anything in return. We took a day long island tour which included snorkelling, elephant trekking, swimming in a waterfall and learning to cook a Thai curry.

Mae Nam beach was a 5 minute walk away and was always pretty empty. Even the locals selling stuff on the beach were friendly enough and didn't really hassle you, although we did buy a pineapple from the fruit man every day, which cost £1 and was amazing - worth every penny!

There are plenty of 7elevens around, which sell local and English products (very, very cheap) but overall the area was pretty quiet, just what we were looking for! We would recommend the resort to anyone looking for a quiet getaway with great food and beautiful weather.

We stayed 7 nights in a standard twin bungalow, which was basic but had air-conditioning, a mini fridge and even a blow dryer. The gardens were beautiful and the pool area was excellent. Mae Nam Beach is less than a 10 minute walk or a short tuk tuk ride (complimentary service). The restaurant was good but our favourite was the Luna Hut across the road. We also had dinner at the Mercure Samui Buri Resort right on the beach. We took airport transfers (400 baht) and caught a songthaew from the main road to get around the island. The girl at the reception desk made reservations on the Lomprayah catamaran to Koh Tao and booked our tour to Ang Thong National Marine Park. There is a 3% surcharge for using credit cards, although not on accommodation. The location is a bit far from Chaweng but it is a great find.

Fabulous accomodations, staff and location for the value. The restaurant had outstanding authentic thai dishes. The owner Boonchai and the manager Jas make everyone feel right at home. We woke to the birds in this beautiful garden setting and walked about 3 minutes to the beach for a 7A swim every morning. We stayed 5 weeks and had a great time.
