This is more a resort than just a budget hotel. It is located right on the beach - small, but quiet and lovely. The gardens and the pools (3 smaller pools) are a great addition as well as the massage area! The room looked like most Ibis hotels but it was slightly more spacious and had a balcony with a sea view as I requested it at reservation. I found that breakfast was not as good as you could expect it. Ibis-Phuket is better. But this hotel was a great choice away from the usual island tourist traps.

Room Tip: They have very few rooms with a sea view.

We thought from the map that the Ibis was closer to fishermans village than it was. For us with a push chair it was too far to walk along the road. Closer along the beach but not accessible with a push chair.
We stayed in a family room which is deceiving on the website as it looks like the child's area is completely partitioned off and it is only partially partitioned. The beds were comfortable and the bunk beds great our 3 year old loved the top bunk which was enclosed except for the end and very safe. There was also a large teddy bear on the the bed which pleased her immensely. There were a few toys in the room and a playstation which i think are nice touches.
The room was lovely and clean and the cleaning staff helpful although we had to ask for beach towels every day. The room was located on the 3rd floor near to the pool but the elevator was near to reception so we constantly had to walk to reception to use the elevator as we had a push chair. Quite a distance out of our way every time we needed to get to our room. Which was frequently with a 3 year old.
Between reception and the pool area the grounds are not push chair friendly.
The food was tasty and nice when they got it right but very inconsistent and quite often missing things that were stated on the menu. I also felt that it was overpriced. I didn't rate the buffet breakfast at all I have had much nicer elsewhere.
The bar was under staffed late afternoon and evening and not well stocked. A few of the staff at the bar were exceptional and friendly but others seemed as if they didn't care which let the side down.
The pool area and grounds are beautiful and they have 4 pools which were clean and very nice. The pool area was fantastic for us with a small child but there is one area of concrete between the children's pool and the next pool which is extremely slippery and dangerous when wet. Both my friends child and ours slipped and cut their knees quite badly. Overall average.

We have stayed here twice now and think it offers amazing value for a beach hotel on Samui. It is about 1km along Bophut beach from the fisherman's village and it is an easy walk into the village along the beach or the main road, or a short taxi-ride.

The whole hotel is very new, and the rooms are modern, simply furnished and comfortable. The bathrooms are small but clean and got good showers. The bed was firm but very comfortable. The only small gripe is there isn't much clothes storage space, but it really wasn't a problem.

The breakfast buffet was good - offered a decent selection of western and asian foods and this year there was the option of eggs freshly cooked to order. The fresh papaya and watermelon were particularly good. We only ate in the hotel restaurant once, and were pleasantly surprised by how tasty the thai food they offered was, The club sandwich was good too. We chose to eat in Bophut, but the restaurant would be a good option if you didn't fancy venturing out one evening.

The outdoor areas of the grounds are nicely landscaped and lead from the hotel to the pool area and down to the beach. There are sunloungers and umbrellas by the pools and on the beach. The beach is quite coarse sand, but lovely for swimming and is a lovely stip of beach. There are food sellers on the beach (highly recommend the Som Tam salad and fresh mangoes) and inevitably the sarong sellers but they're not intrusive. The pools were lovely and there is an area to get massages (much more expensive than in Bangkok, but still very good).

The bar is by the pool and offer 2-4-1 cocktails from 1700-1900 every day; having sampled the menu extensively I am happy to report they were mostly very good.

This is a nice peaceful hotel, on a nice peaceful beach, within easy reach of the fisherman's village with a good selection of restaurants and bars. It isn't party central, unlike Chawang, but we thought this was a definite bonus.

For the price, this Ibis offers a simple but very comfortable beach resort in a lovely location on Samui. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again or recommend to others.

Room Tip: The best rooms are in building, the the far end over looking the pools and beach.

The room we stayed in was very nice, it was not very spacious but ok. Great bed and shower.

The staff of the hotel could be a bit friendlier but it was alright. The breakfast was great, with many choices. The pool was very nice and clean. The location is oke and it situated on the beach and within walking distance from the centre.

This hotel on the island of Samui is excellent value for money and has little faults. It is located about a half an hour away from the airport, 5 mins from the fishermans vilage of bophut and about 15 from the resort of chaweng. The check-in at the hotel was straight forward and the option of leaving a credit card or 1000BHT deposit. We stayed in the same block as the reception on the top (3rd) floor. The room was modern and clean, the bathroom had a good shower and large mirror, flat screen tv with 40 channels, a small wardrobe containing a safe and a fridge, tea and coffee making facilities were also available in the room and were re-stocked everyday.

The balcony didnt have much of a view and was very small, could possible fit 2 people on it (Just) if you are fond of having a nice large balcony this hotel is not for you, all balcony's were the same size as ours.

We had breakfast included in our 12 night stay, it was Ok but got a bit same same and toward the end of the holidays we didnt use it much. Cereal, bread fruit and an omelette station aswell as the customary fried rice and noodles being served.

The pool area was good with 4 pools including a kids pool, the water was clean altho around the pool (especially the back one) there was a lot of cigarette ends which never seemed to be collected. The sunbeds were not comfortable and took a bit of re-positioning to get some sort of relaxing going. there was an in-built bar underneath to support the mesh but it was too close and unconfortable. Showers were available around the pools and there was a nice poolside bar which does excellent food, sandwiches to burgers and Thai food. Would recommend it.
PRICE BEER 90BHT CLUB SANDWICH 199BHT

Beside the pool area was steps to the beach, it was shingle sand and not the soft type but was nice and provided a good backdrop, sunbeds on the beach are the same as the poolside ones, be warned.

The only places we went directly outside the hotel was a place called Jasmine, it was a food/drink establishment run by an Irish Guy Jack (intending to open and Irish bar across from the IBIS) he was a nice lad and provided good food. We rented a Jeep off him for the day at 1000BHT and would reccomend.

The fishermans vilage 200BHT taxi from the hotel was excellent and we ended up there most nights, great bars and restaurants to chose from. our favourites (Happy Elephant, SWADEE, The GRill and The Shack) The Irish Bar and english/french pub served nice snacks and cold beer with had friendly staff. Nice beach bar at the end made up of bean bags under the stars.

We went to chaweng a couple of nights, its the lively part of the island and if your up for a long night it seemed to be the place to be, it has the usual mcDonalds/burger king and more of what people perceive thailand is like, We went to the thai boxing in chaweng in the new arena 1500BHT each, Enjoyable night 9pm-12pm

We limited the trips out for more of a relaxing by the pool type holiday and only did the one trip to the national park 1400BHT each 7am-5pm inc. Food and drink. It was worth it to see the national park in its glory. Again we hired a Jeep and explored the island for ourselves, its pretty and there are things to see Budda, waterfall, elephants etc.. and its easy to find your way round.

I would go back to this hotel, weighing up the price Vs. what you get, its very good.

PROS- Nice Clean and Friendly
CONS- Small Balcony's and Lack of thai-like experience
