“Nice rooms, Very friendlly staff.”
Reviewed 29 January 2014 via mobile

Kinnaree resort is a wonderdul place to stay. Its a beach front resort and the area on the beach side is very clean. We have stayed here for a couple of nights.

I have read few reviews here in Trip Advisor about the rooms are just basic and not the same as in the photos. Yes, thats true but not all the rooms. They have 3 types of rooms, Standard room (Less than 1000BHT), Superior room (around 1400BHT), and sea view (around 1800BHT). The photos in TA shows only the Superior rooms only. I have applied the standard rooms now so ppl can have a look at it.

The resturant food here is EXCELLENT and they have different choices.

The staff here are friendlly and helpful espcially Mr. Suwapol which will try to do anything just to help you out.

The resort will need to do little more maintenance for the standard rooms like repaint, remove the unnecessary exhust fan in the room and close few holes in the wall.

We have just stayed in the sea view room at this resort and couldn't ask for more! We paid 1500thb for the night and the staff were very obliging about us arriving early for check in. The room is right on the beach, had warm water and air con. Everything our tired bodies needed after a week in a beach hut on Koh Phangan!

This wasn't our first choice of accommodation but after losing reservations at another place we found the Kinnaree. No real complaints here - for $22 CA a night you have a bungalow on the beach that is clean with A/C. Be prepared to witness Koh Samui in all it's seedy glory though at this hotel - there were a few Thai prostitutes and their Western johns walking around.

We paid $78/night for a beach front bungalow because of high season (Songkran). For $30, I would have been happy with the room, maybe even for $40. But $78 is a lot for a very simple room with a shabby bathroom, and it didn't even include breakfast.

Koh Samui has lost all it's charm. The first time I went, in 1999(?) There were only a couple of hotels there. It was a beautiful island. Now it's full of ugly hotels, and especially this area around Kinnaree is really hideous and boring. You'll have to take a taxi to Chaweng for any kind of entertainment. Even in high season this area was deserted, and not in a good way.

Having said that, it's nice to have a beach front room with your own porch. And the hotel food is remarkably good, and the service is very pleasant. If it had been cheaper, I would have given it 4 stars.

We paid 1500B for a deluxe room - for this you get a double and a single bed, as well as a sea-view room. From what we gathered there weren't any other rooms with sea-views, but even if you're not in a deluxe room you're not going to be more than 20 seconds from a beautiful beach. Free wi-fi, good restaurant and well-placed near other restaurants/bars. We had one cockroach in the few nights we spent there, which is about par for such a hot country - you'd have to be in a very up-market place not to find any.

We decided to stay in this little resort because we couldnt found other place where we planed to stay. It was evening allready and we woild be pretty much ok with everything. The staf was nice and their english is good. We are 4 people traveling and we booked one room because 2 friends wanted to just drop their backpackes and go party for the black moon party on the other island. Staf were friendly and helping with searching a ferry or speedboat to the island, but it was too late so we decided to book another room. They didnt have any other low cost room avaliable but the receptionist offered us deluxe room and gave us some discount so the difference in price was minimum compering to low cost room. Staf were friendly, smiling, helpful in every possible way. Other guests in resort seems nice and fiendly. We all like this place and decided to extend our stay for a couple mor days. We had dinner in Kinnaree restaurand and the food is delicious and resanoble priced, they even let us bring our own drinks there. Internet is working prfectly. I dont have anything bad to say about this resort. So go on and book it, you wont regret it. ;)

I would not call it a resort, but it provides accomodation conveniently located between Big Buddah pier and the airport. It features spacious rooms with bathroon, aircon and free wifi and you are practically on the beach. Rates are fair.
