We stayed at the Hansar for 3 nights and were very happy we did. Great location close to the hustle of fisherman's wharf yet the resort is quiet and chilled. Amazing pool overlooking the ocean. Nice big rooms with a large balcony overlooking the pool and ocean.
There is a massage hut on the beach ( not the hotels ) where you can get 1 hour for 300-400 baht. Awesome value
Unfortunately their cocktails are very average and overpriced so head down the road for your drinks

Room Tip: Request a higher room

Great Hotel right on the beach in Fisherman's Village, Koh Samui. Good size rooms, though I was in the XL range.
Food and room service are spot on.
Highlights are the staff, particularly Samney (Front Desk Manager)

Only downsides, are that i wish there was some form of high table in the rooms i.e. a desk .. somewhere to work and maybe to eat

Thoroughly recommend this hotel in a great part of Samui

Room Tip: XL .. if you can afford it

We spent 7 nights here jan 2014.
A celebration of 25 yrs of marriage..
The staff could not do enough for you..
The large deluxe suite room was very clean & comfortable..
We simply enjoyed chilling out ..
The massage at the spa was luxurious, one of the best we have had..

Room Tip: Try and get a room near the reception area.. Quieter at night away from the bar..

Fabulous place, fantastic view, great rooms, super service, never met so friendly and service minded personnel before (and I do travel alot!). Food was excellent, pool area was flexibly adjusted to all travellers of all ages, and happy hour was fun! Stayed for 5 nights and our daughter with family changed their booking to stay here another five nights. Worth the money all times! Ok, no place for party people. A bit more high class :-)

Room Tip: XL room is worth the extra cost if you wish to feel a bit more relaxed.

We stayed at this resort for 6 nights in February 2014. You cannot beat the location right in the beach with a beautiful infinity pool. The rooms are very nice with an excellent rain shower.
Breakfast in the restaurant is very good looking out over the sea. It is a buffet breakfast and the eggs are cooked to order but they do not tell you that there is also bacon and sausages if you want them which we found out about on our third day. There is an excellent waitress in the breakfast restaurant upstairs named Lee who should be complimented for her excellent service.
We had dinner in the restaurant one night which we found to be very average. Very expensive and the 2 different Thai main meals we had were almost exactly the same and lacked spiciness and flavour.(If you want an excellent Thai dinner go 20 meters along the sand to the resort next door where the food is better, cheaper, and set amongst lily ponds and torchlights.
The 2 for 1 happy hour drinks are a rip off. The cocktails are 310 baht for 2 and they are mean, half full and not that good. Walk down the road to the Fisherman's Village where they are 120 baht all the time and far superior.

Room Tip: Top floor in the middle looking straight out to sea.

Awesome location, great pool and love the rooms. Service was great. There was a section for kids by the pool too which I thought were great for familities with young children. Happy hours at the pool bar were fun!

We stayed here for 3 nights in February 2014, in 2 rooms overlooking the pool and sea, both on the 2nd floor. Overall we had a really lovely time and wouldn't hesitate to go back.

The location is fabulous - set on the beach, with Fisherman's Village (restaurants, bars, shops, massage places) just steps away - there are amazing views from the pool area and around the hotel.

We (especially teenagers) enjoyed the free wifi, and other nice touches included free bottles of water handed out around the pool, as well as plenty left in the rooms.

The only negatives we found were:

1. Breakfast - both service and food. There were quite a lot of young waiters, mainly standing around giggling amongst themselves, and they didn't seem to know what to do - they could really have done with more supervision and someone taking charge. For example although extra coffees were served when we requested them, none of the cups and saucers were removed, and neither were the empty plates taken until we stood up to leave. So at one point we had 10 dirty plates, 4 empty glasses and 6 empty coffee cups on our table! Also the food offering was quite limited - at one point there were only a few pieces of lime left on the whole the fruit station, and no croissants or pastries left at all on the display, upstairs or downstairs. When they were eventually replenished, the lady carefully arranged 6 croissants on a plate and took the others back to the kitchen - even though 3 people were waiting to take them! They need to be much quicker to refill, especially at busier times.

2. Rooms are fabulously trendy - we absolutely loved the style - but discovered they were not very functional. There was very limited drawer / storage space if you wanted to unpack, no hanging space for longer items (dresses or long trousers), very dark lighting around mirrors (so tricky to do make up / hair), the aircon was so fierce that even on minimum the curtains were blowing as if in gale force winds, and the water pressure was so low that it took ages to shower under the rain shower.

So a few improvements could be made - but the location was wonderful and we really enjoyed our stay.
