This is a challenging review to write, as the food and setting were overshadowed by the service. The restaurant is trying to be 5-star, but needs to provide more and better training to the staff:
- Menu is entirely in English but the staff were not familiar with it, even when we pointed at items (perhaps having Thai as well as English would help them)
- Food was brought as it was prepared rather than all at once, which meant some of us had to wait after others were served
- Dishes were not cleared before the next course was brought (giving rise to the classic line from one of the servers, pointing to my son's plate: "Gimme!")
This was very unfortunate, as the food itself was delicious, and the view was spectacular. Fortunately, we dealt with this in good humour, likening it to Fawlty Towers.
