We stayed 4 nights in one of the pool villas nr 507 (very modern, luxurious and good bed) and absolutely loved it. It is very secluded with beautiful tropical gardens and lots of animals. It is a great combination of nature meeting luxury. The staff was fantastic. I have stayed in many luxury hotels but seldom have I experienced such personal service by staff. The restaurants served really nice food and they organize nice events throughout the week that guests can attends such as yoga, cooking classes, a BBQ night and a cultural night. Looking forward to going back.

We stayed in a cottage suite for 5 nights - 2 adults and 2 children ages 6 & 9. The bath in the balcony is very much like the pictures shown on the internet - beautiful! We had the view of the ocean but other members of our group who had the same type of room said they didn't as it was blocked by trees. Wonderful stay - great service, especially the breakfast crew (juice station lady is the best!).

Only 4* and not 5* was because of one issue.
Two main restaurants for dinner - one only serves Thai food, the other only serves Western food and never shall they compromise. So, we had to do two separate dinners (my children wanted pasta of course) First dinner in the Western poolside restaurant and second dinner in the main restaurant for Thai food. Imagine two bored children sitting waiting for their parents for dinner, not a great night. We asked at both restaurants if either one could serve just either simple pasta and Thai food in either restaurant but the answer was NO except through Room service.

On special occasion nights where they had their BBQ dinner buffets, then they had a semi international and Thai variety where the whole family could be pleased. The beachfront/poolside restaurant had an excellent "fire show". It was certainly worth waiting for. Reasonably priced buffet for a 5* resort.

The pool is always quiet. Excellent service, fruit plates, cold water by the lounge beds were all part of the free service! Lots of lounges.

I would not recommend this resort to the elderly or families with very young children needing strollers. There are a lot of stairs/hills everywhere (to the pool, restaurants, beach, main reception) including inside your cottage. However, they do have a safety gate at the top of the bedroom stairs (very steep) if you do have young children. Not sure how wide are the bars though - did not take note. They have golf buggy service from A to B but of course it takes time for it to arrive and then the long way around the resort just to visit the pool. It is a short walk if you can handle the stairs - great for us.

Room Tip: Check when you book that the cottage suite has an unblocked ocean view. Absolutely stunning views fr...

Set among beautiful flora and fauna this truly is getting away from the usual design of holiday accommodation - our room was set in an elevated position looking out over the Ocean - well appointed sitting out area with sun loungers and outdoor bath tub. I would find it hard to be disappointed with any accommodation at Tongsai. The food is of a very high standard - food cooked to order with no food 'sitting around' - we loved all the eating preferences and especially the 'Tapas Bar' - book beforehand as it's small intimate & popular. Mark the Manager made himself known to ourselves early on in the holiday and takes a pride in the hotel and his wonderful staff. Thank you for a wonderful holiday & we look forward to returning.

This was our 3rd visit to this lovely hotel and we enjoyed this visit as much as we did our previous stays. The staff are simply fantastic and they definitely `go the extra mile` in order to ensure that hotel guests are looked after exceptionally well. We chose a Sea Front Cottage this time and we were delighted with it; generally comfortable and simply lovely views across the bay to Choeng Mon and out to sea in the other direction.
We found the food to be very good indeed and thought that the changes introduced by the relatively new head chef were excellent; a wider choice and the food always hot.
Is there room for improvement? Yes, the beds are hard and could do with being replaced with ones a little softer; that said, we asked for a mattress topper, this was provided without delay and did help a little.
The acid test of any hotel is whether or not one would return. We most definitely will and have already booked for next year.

Room Tip: The Cottages, be they hillside or sea front, are lovely

We stayed 10 nights in an ocean view room (room number 222). Our matress was too hard and within one hour (late in the evening) they put a softer top deck. Great service, thanks you again! Daily enough free drinking water in the room which is really a plus. The location is quite unique. The beach unfortunately with fine grit instead of white sand. The service is great in restaurants, reception and beach. Nice beach chairs with white new towles. The beach boys are nice and very alert on giving ice water constantly, lovely habit. In the afternoon the offer fresh fruit at the beach and pool. The beach is very clean. Even the beach boys go by boat fishing the weaweeds out of the water so even that stays clean!!!! They are very aware of the environment by beeing eco friendly. Our room had a great big space shower and a bathtube on the balcony which is a little needles for us! On the balcony are 2 beach stretchers which was nice. It is quite hilly. It was possible to go by buggy to the reception or what so ever Breakfast is a buffet. A lot of choice, good service and the biggerst treat was to let make your own fresh fruit juice. So delicious and an excellent idea. The environment of furniture is a little outdated. People are very helpful with their great service. Even the public toilets in the hotel and at the pool are always clean. Food in the big restaurant is expencive and very moderate. Nothing special. The only dis advantage isthat shops and restaurants are far away. There is no shuttle service. A taxi to the centre or so is 400 Bath for a single trip which is expencive. We ate all evening out in Chaiweng or Fishermanswharf. Conclusion: Nice but gritty beach. Pool is o.k. not very special. Service all over the place excellent. Nice room and a bit outdated furniture. They do very well their best to feel a special guest.

Room Tip: Room 222. Seaview, bathtube on balcony, very speacious and not to many staircases from the beach or...

We stayed at the Tongsai Bay with our daughter, son in law and grandson and had a wonderful relaxing holiday. Our cottage was superb with great views over the bay, the pool area is fabulous and the restaurant food is very good, Butler's is excellent. The service is excellent, all the staff are very helpful and they made a real fuss of our grandson who is only 9 months old. Only downside are the steps to the cottages, you can get a buggy to and from reception and the beach but we still had about 20 steps to negotiate to get to and from the buggy. The hotel, restaurants, pool, facilities and service are superb, you will not be disappointed if you holiday here!

This hotel is perfection! The rooms are stunning, facilities are gorgeous, food is delicious and every member of staff could not be nicer. Nothing is too much trouble. We were in a beach front suite on the first floor which was beautiful. We asked if we could move to the second floor as those balconies were not under a canopy and they moved us as soon as one was available, which was the next day. To be honest we didn't need it as it was too hot to lie out without frequent breaks to the sea or the pool but we loved that the staff were so accommodating. There is a taxi service in the hotel and you pay the same prices as you do grabbing one from the street (if not less at times). For the standard of food, drinks, taxi etc at no point is the hotel overpriced, although being a 5 star resort, it is in the higher end of the price range for Koh Samui. It is well worth it though, fantastic quality and well-priced. We stayed 10 nights on our honeymoon and we could not have made a better choice - 5 stars!
