We've recently returned from a two week stay at this hotel at the end of September and would echo the praise of previous posters. On arrival we were allocated an east-facing villa, but were quickly and efficiently transferred to one on the west side when we expressed our preference for sunset views.

The villas themselves are far more spacious than I'd expected from the hotel's photos and this is greatly enhanced by the outdoor space with your own private pool, sunbeds and shaded daybed. All your needs are catered for - even down to the Helly Hansen waterproof jackets in case of rain - and the preferences form that you fill in on arrival even lets you choose what time you want your room cleaning, turning down and when you want your butler to deliver your daily ice bucket and fresh milk. The wonderful array of toiletries provided even includes things like aloe vera gel and insect repellant and, whilst things like shampoo, shower gel and body lotion are originally provided in the hotel's signature fragrance, you can choose to have them in fragrance free or "Vitality" versions if you don't want to smell like everyone else!

Breakfast was a veritable feast! My husband enjoyed his daily cooked-to-order eggs, bacon and sausage, whilst I relished the opportunity to have fresh sushi and dimsum every morning and we both made the most of the wonderful array of fresh fruit and pastries. We enjoyed an evening meal in our villa several times during our stay and the room service menu provides a good choice of the items featured on the main restaurant menu.

Although fairly isolated, the hotel's evening shuttle bus service makes visiting either Bophut or Cha Weng simple and you can choose to book either a return trip or just one-way, so that you're not restricted to a set time - taxis are plentiful in Bophut and we had no problems finding one during any of our visits there.

I was unfortunate enough to develop an ear infection during our stay (which the doc put down to my over-enthusiastic use of cotton buds), but within about 10 minutes of calling our butler to ask how to go about seeing a doctor, we were in one of the hotel's cars on our way to the International Hospital and I thought this was a typical example of the level of service that we experienced at Six Senses!

We'd stayed at the Datai on Langkawi last year and were looking for a similar quality hotel for this holiday. I think we found it with Six Senses! There are obvious differences - I liked the Datai's extensive grounds, varied wildlife and more accessible beach, but our own private pool and outdoor space would have been beyond our budget at the Datai and the personal attention of our own butler, Pui, was a much-appreciated addition. All in all, a wonderful experience and one I'd highly recommend!

We had an unforgettable stay in Koh Samui at the Six Senses Hideaway for three weeks in an ocean front pool suite. I recommend this hotel if you are looking for and excellent facility, food, staff, view and atmosphere.

The Check In.
We were met at the airport by Six Senses and then driven approx 15 mins to the hotel which is located next to Choeng Mon beach. The lobby has a magnificent view of Koh Phangan island and the hotels infinity pool. Check in was speedy and we were soon facing the same view of the island from our own villa.

The Villa
It was much larger than I expected from the private pool to the two bathrooms, living room and bedroom. The villa was on two levels: the living and bedroom area up top and a walk down the outside steps to our infinity pool, outside rain shower, large sala with a double bed to relax and look out to the sparkling ocean and another large dining area.

The Butler
The butler service at Six Senses Samui is outstanding. Our butler Patrick was always willing to help and give information, making restaurant reservations and assisting us with anything that we needed and there is a butler there for you 24 hours.

The Breakfast
Great buffet breakfast with a daily special in the egg department. All the tropical fruits and juices, a yoghurt bar, cheese and freshly baked breads, sushi, noodles made to your liking (you fill out a sheet choosing yellow, green or flat noodles ect). I had Thai fried rice Khao Phad Ghoong and on another occasion green curry. The food and bev Manager Julianne makes you feel at home. Breakfast is at Dining On The Hill which has a cool breeze and overlooks a small island called Koh Som. We didn't want to leave the table!

The Pool
It's the best infinity pool on the island I heard and certainly agree. Never crowded. Such a beautiful spot to be in. Feels as though you have the place to yourself as you just take in the views and unwind.

The Gym and Spa
The gym is well equipped with free weights and machines and also stationery bikes, stairmaster and treadmill. The massage I had was one of the best ever in Thailand. I was surprised just how good the therapist was.

The General Manager
What an excellent GM. So friendly and he really understands what service is all about. We were invited three times a week to Chill On The Hill for cocktails and got to know the hotel managers well. A family atmosphere.

I can recommend Six Senses Samui to all trip advisor readers.

Room Tip: There are Hideaway villas, pool villas, ocean front pool villas and ocean front pool suites. I took...

Stayed here for Honeymoon. Amazing place to stay with lovely Sea view room. (Ask for one!)

Sayed for a week. Relaxing on beach and hotel. facilities are very good, brekfast is very good too with lots of variety.

Only down side is choice of Veggie food, as am vegetarian so after a few days you've pretty much had all the Veggie dishes, but then again hotels not soley catered for Veggie lovers!

Rooms were lovely, nice design, outside shower. Butler service was very good with fresh fruit every day of your choice.

Lots of different night activities you can choose from too.

Opened my eyes to Six senses and will look for others now...

Apparently the extra sense refers to 'experience', which nicely sums up this excellent hotel. The food, the service and the attention to detail made it a memorable stay. Indeed as we were savoring each experience in turn, we had unwittingly been lulled into a slower more natural pace. I found myself content to lounge by the pool, and soak up the impressive ocean views.

This hotel prides itself for its personalized service - and they do not disappoint - you'll get a butler who is very attentive to your needs. The bungalows are modern and comfortable with extra touches which make it special. Breakfast is also very good, with Western, Thai and Japanese options, although the Western food is the best provisioned with freshly squeezed/blended fruit juice the most popular.

This really is a great hotel to relax and get away from it all... more so, because it is quite a long way to the town. Nevertheless we were able to hire a motorbike and make the 5km trip on bumpy roads each day to the shopping and restaurants.

Activities on offer within the hotel include kids/cultural activities, sailing and spa treatments. The catamaran was a highlight, as I am a novice sailor, and navigating the reefs at low tide was exciting. Despite the dangers we managed to get about halfway to Koh Phangan before we were forced back by high winds and a large swell. The Spa was outstanding, and the massage was one of the few I have had in Thailand where the therapist was well-trained and got the pressure just right.

Overall, this is a wonderful for a secluded holiday retreat, however it IS very isolated and you will need to rent either a car or a motorbike after a few days. Highly recommended if you are looking for a romantic getaway with great ocean views, attentive service and a truly sensual experience for all 5 senses, plus that extra sense which you didn't know you had.

We went here to round off our honeymoon with a relaxing break. This was the ideal place for us. It's built on the edge of a peninsula at the top of Koh Samui so each villa has its own sea view. The great thing is that there are individual villas rather than a hotel, which keeps it much more intimate, and each villa has its own little sun area. We opted to upgrade to the pool villa which was well worth it. Each day we would have breakfast and spend the morning by the large pool or on the beach, where your ice water is topped up every few minutes, un a non-intrusive way. In the afternoon we'd head back to the pool at our villa in the shade. This place was nothing short of epic and I'd recommend it to anyone, except for those who might have issues with a few steps to the villa (people with mobility issues might be better looking elsewhere). Absolutely world class venue.

Room Tip: Depending on your mood ask for sunrise or suset side, I woke up to the sunrise each morning, then cl...

1. Stunning design - sumptuous attention to detail with every aspect of the villa design and approach to customer service - my wife was particularly thrilled with the pillow menu and night-time essential oil selection!
2. Butler service - we really missed this at the other places we stayed - one person just one button away on your villa telephone who can answer any question. Great!
3. Breakfast - unbelievable selection providing huge variety throughout our stay
4. Incredible customer service - from the politeness of the men sweeping leaves every morning on our walk to breakfast, to the towels and glasses of chilled water brought to you instantaneously on your arrival at the pool or beach
5. Dining on the Rocks - sensational view of the sea on three sides - we watched an incredible lightening storm as our delicious and contemporary three courses arrived
6. Privacy - our villa, and it seemed every villa, had a fantastic sea view, and felt amazingly private and relaxing, which was absolutely perfect for the first destination on our honeymoon.

WE WILL RETURN and hope to win the lottery so it's next week :)

Also now very interested in saving up to visit other Six Senses resorts in other parts of the world - great concept
