We were staying in a villa about 1km from Akaryn and decided to try The Edge.
We arrived in the middle of a thunder storm and were escorted from the car to the resorts reception where very helpful staff directed us to the restaurant, which is set just next to the resort's beach .
The restaurant staff were excellent, and very attentive. The best part though was the pizza, which was delicious. I had the Samui pizza with mango and ham, My boyfriend had a prosciutto pizza which was also great. We had ice cream for dessert which was great.
The Edge is expensive by Thai standards (although not ridiculously so)
but the experience is worth paying for, and is much better than you would get for a similar price in Europe.
The only slight downside is that when we asked for water to drink, we were given a bottle of evian which cost almost as much as the pizzas! This was partly our fault for not reading the drinks menu but I find it a bit sneaky when restaurants pull this sort of thing.
Overall I would recommend Akaryn for a romantic evening meal and would definitely return.
