Having transferred to this hotel from the Amari in Chaweng, this hotel was so much better I wish I had found it before booking at the Amari, as this hotel failed to live up to the visit we had to its sister hotel in Phuket. The hotel is part of the Leading Hotels of the world group, and it is small enough to treat you as an individual, yet big enough to offer fantastic facilities. If you are looking for a relaxed, friendly hotel set right on great beach that is a true 5-star hotel, book this one.
We stayed in a garden room which looked out over the tranquil;pool, and on to the sea itself. No noisy pool games, plenty of sunbeds on the beach and around the pool, and a super team of sunbed lads who check on you without bothering you and move the brollies before you even know they need moving.
The room itself was large and in really good condition with a four poster bed and double-sink bathroom, and complimentary fresh fruit and water are replenished daily.
Breakfasts here are fabulous and are as good as you would expect to find in huge hotels, with tables set overloking the sea or inside if you want shade. The service is fast and the dress code around the hotel is relaxed. .
You can walk to the Fishermans Village which is a 10 minute stroll away, and is a Western-style resort with some great restaurants and some clothes shops along with the normal suit shops and massage parlours. The restaurants are nice but not cheap as it is a tourist trap.
However, right outside the hotel you will find plenty of authentic Thai restaurants where you can eat four dishes between two, with drinks for less than a tenner, and they are fun to go to,
but make sure you let them know the degree of spiciness you like, otherwise they will blow your head off! The secret if this happens is not just to drink water, but to eat something sweet which immediately relieves the symptons - Coke or friut does the trick.
The Hotel Spa is quite expensive compared to the many massage outlets nearby, but you do get a really relaxed experience delivered by people who know what they are doing. Give it a try and you will love it, .
We hired a car through Budget on the Hotels advice, and this proved to be a good decision as we had a minor bump that was completely paid for by the insurance included in the deal. Some people like to hire scooters, but we saw plenty of evidence that unless you are experienced, it can be a painful decision!
The Hotel staff simply cannot do enough to make your holiday perfect, and the Hotel is right on a great sandy beach from where they offer windsurfing lessons, kayaking and other non-motorised sports - again complimentary and within a safe roped off area. one of the other benefits of the hotels location is that you are not plagued with noise from jetskis or loud music, so you can wile away the day in peace. Another benefit is that although the airport is close by, you see the planes in the next bay, but never hear them, unlike in Chaweng.
If you want the Asian Chaos that is Chaweng, then it is a four pound taxi ride away, but at least you can take it in small doses if you feel the need for noise, bargains and booze.
There is complimentary Wifi in the rooms at the beach and reception and a computer room too.
A small but great gym is also avl with fruit, water, towels and air con to work off any extra pounds you may start to pile on!!!
This is a great hotel that lives up to its great reputation.

Room Tip: The hotel has fantastic gardens so all of the rooms are private, but the garden rooms are exceptiona...

My partner and I stayed at the Bo Phut for four days in Feb/March and I can honestly say I had the most perfect time. After much research we choose the Bo Phut as it looked more understated and friendly than some of the newer hotels like Zazen and Hansar and we were not disappointed. The real gems of the hotel are the staff, they smile from dawn until dusk and nothing is too much trouble for them. I was expecting great service from a Leading Hotel of the World but they surpassed my every expectation and made for a truly great stay.

We had a garden room overlooking the stunning lily pond and it was just great. It is the entry level room but was very spacious with a full size seperate bath, walk in show and double wash basin. We had a lovely patio with a bench and chairs and a handy drying rack for swimsuits. The room was so quiet we could only hear ourselves breathing. The breakfast buffet was great - lots of fresh fruit, salads, salmon and other salads as well as fresh eggs from the "egg station" and thai and other asian specialities.

I have read a few comments saying Bo Phut beach is not a nice beach, I would like to know where these people usually stay as I thought the beach was great. The sand is perhaps a little coarser than Chaweng but Chaweng has nothing else going for it so lets allow it a sandier beach. The Bo Phut has plenty of beach loungers though some residents still found it necessary to "claim" them! The attendants have toys for children and bring drinks for the adults!, both the beach and the sea are very clean and it has a handy protected area so you are not troubled by passing boats. There is the odd jet ski but even I wasn't bothered too much by them, they are thankfully nearer fisherman's village than the resort.

I found the food and drinks prices very reasonable for a top hotel, helped currently by a generous happy hour of a few hours with half price cocktaills, local beers and local spirits. The spa is also very good value and we spent many a happy hour being pampered.

I would not hesitate to recommend the Bo Phut, the gardens are stunning, the view from the dinning room is perfect and the staff are amazing - there is nothing to fault.

Room Tip: The garden rooms 500 - 505 are the best in my opinion as they are close to reception and are quiet w...

We are currently residing at Bo Phut resort and spa and cannot recommend it highly enough. We are staying in the most basic garden room but it is spacious, comfortable and elegant. There is a super garden terrace with a bonus water feature. The rooms have been continually supplied with fresh fruit and replenished with sufficient water. The fruit is also tailored to your requests....the mangoes have been terrific!

The resort itself is very tranquil and boutique. It appears at full capacity but one would not know. Breakfast by the poolside/beachside is particularly attractive and the food is very good. We have been having lunch at the hotel due to laziness but it is not a lot steeper than the rates at the nearby fishermens village. The village is a 10 minute walk away and has a good selection of venues for dinner at reasonable rates.

The sun loungers are most comfortable and the pool attendants are experts in negotiating the sun with the parasols. The fruit and cold towels mid afternoon are a nice touch. The poolside toilets are extremely nice also.

Gym is also very acceptable for any other fitness fanatics with an array of free weights, a treadmill and a bike. Just do not forget to switch the air con on when entering!

Free wifi, DVD loan and complimentary jet lag massage were also nice touches.

All in all, it is the perfect place to come for a relaxing break and the staff have all been absolutely wonderful. I would not hesitate in coming back for another holiday.

Just what the Doctor ordered, peace and tranquility in abundance. Loved this small gem of a hotel from its lush gardens to the great Spa. Only a small walk away from Fishermans Village with its various bars, restaurants and shops. Staff attentive and cold towels and fruit service on loungers given daily along with moving of the umbrellas to offer more shade. Loved the flowers in the room and daily replenished fruit basket. Stayed 6 nights only downside being the loungers would get booked very early on in the mornings when hotel was busy. Enjoyed the shooting range a short taxi ride away where you get to fire off a few rounds at a target.

Stayed for 9 nights here, for a complete chill-out and it is near perfect.
The staff are brilliant and could not do more to help.
We had one issue with guests in a neighboring room, who seemed to relish in loud, argumentative conference calls until the early hours in the morning. Not what you need on a relaxing holiday. We spoke to reception after the second night of this. They said that they would speak to the guests and if the issue wasn't resolved they would move us. I don't know what they said but the issue was resolved with no further issues.

Breakfasts were leisurely and with great selection. The freshly cooked fried noodles and rice were amazing as was the Dim Sum selection. Lunch prices were a little expensive so we tended to eat out, quick walk down the beach or across the road. Pool service was great, very comfortable sun beds, with very attentive staff who were experts in adjusting the umbrellas for the maximum sun or shade depending on your preference. The room was great, with a very comfortable bed and large balcony overlooking the beautiful gardens. The Spa was excellent, we took advantage of the free 15 minute "jetlag" massage plus I had a full 90 minute session. You will always pay more in a hotel spa for a massage than a beach shack, but you know you are going to get quality. Our only small criticism was the lack of a "proper" bar, where you can congregate with other guests. Bar service was more lounge style, so tended to be less sociable.

Location is good, with Fishermans village, either a 5 minute beach stroll, not easy to walk on the sand though, or a 10 minute walk via the road. Fishermens village is not a party town though, don't expect to dance the night way there. It is nice restaurants and quiet bars, very relaxing.

In summary an amazing hotel, that I would recommend to anyone looking for a complete relaxing break.

A beautiful resort. While you are in the actual complex you feel a million miles from the rest of the world, but in truth you are only a 10 minute walk away from the Fishermans Village, with it's lively bars and restaurants. In chosing to stay here we really were able to enjoy the benefits of both worlds and this was abolutely ideal for us. The staff were amazing and from the moment we arrived we felt so relaxed and comfortable. I quite simply loved the place and would go back tomorrow if I could.

I think that there are not enough words to describe how fabulous is this resort.

I really advice you to try a relaxing stay in Bo Phut Resort and Spa - so that you can discover how relaxing and enchanting it is - for one that are looking for a romantic or relaxing stay.

The Bo Phut staff are really amazing, always with a simple and honest smile, ready to help you and give their advice.

I was in Bo Phut in early February in Honeymoon, and we also took the opportunity to do the Thai wedding ceremony. We noted the deep envolvement and motivations of all the staff in order to provide us an memorial day. The ceremony deeply exceeded our expectations, and we will never forget that day neither the kindness of all the staff of Bo Phut Resort and Spa.

I am not a usual 5* hotel guest, but for me this is definitively a 5* hotel. Here you have the feeling of being in a Paradise Island with a Majesty treatment.

If you are looking for a 5* service in Ko Samui this will surely be a good choice.
